Thanks for the vid, subscribed. It's my biggest worry tbh, since I am picking up my new Hornet in a couple of weeks. I don't want to be like that poor dude on the Suzuki that stacked it!
No problem! Thanks for subbing. Ah you won’t be, because you are aware of it and are doing your research. Hornets look great, hope you enjoy it!
That video haunts me every time I buy new tires 😭
At least i learn my lesson
Got new tyres for the first time today and did a very mild lower speed tip in and felt the bike immediately squirm.... Wasn't expecting it to be so bad. On a beautiful sunny day on a smooth road too
Lower the psi/bar of your tires a bit next time helps them heat up and wear faster
I dropped mine soon as i got out from garage with new tyres😂
im terrified i pick my bike up tomorrow and she had new rubber all round ! Ducati V2
Just take it easy 😅 especially in this weather.
Good advice and great video Mike. There's a vid on here where they talk to a Bridgestone Tyre rep where he says that breaking in a tyre is more about settling in the carcass and belts of the tyre than roughing up the surface of the rubber. Not sure if he says it in this vid, but I've heard that tyre manufacturers stopped using mould release agents decades ago and it is only used on the sidewall of the tyre where they require the fine detail of logos and text to come out sharp from the mould. But as you say, it's common sense to take it easy on a new tyre.

I dropped my MT-10 SP with like 10 km/h last weekend...😅
Never happened to me before. Tires were 30km old. I think that was the problem + sticky clutch plates after months in the garage (anyone else have this problem with the MT-10?).
I'm ok, bike is mostly ok. Thank god my bike is fitted with crash protection so this little slide 'only' costed me around €650 to replace all the Gilles an Metisse Racing parts....
Well least you’re ok! Have you checked your clutch cable and or oil?
@@BikeLikeMike92 Bike has fresh oil and I lubed the clutch cable last December. And yeah, most important: I'm unharmed.
