  • Oil has dripped on my driveway recently and while I can survive that at home, I cannot be dripping on customer driveways or parking on their grass. This little O-ring was the culprit for mine and I bet it is leaking on many vans. The O-ring is included in this full kit: www.millionmilesprinter.com/p...

    Looks good! Having more than one Sprinter means buying more than one of all of these things!

      A few of us need to 'big-box store' like Sam's Club for Sprinter parts. When ONE turbo resonator isn't enough...

    This needs a series called the 5 possible sources of oil leaks that can get your alternator wet lol

    A couple short "wobble" extensions may work better without as much flopping as much as U-joints

    Using 1/4” drive helps with room. You had shown me the part number I needed when mine was leaking. My dip stick tube weeps oil also. I need to change the O ring on it as well.

    My trick to put a tiny magnet inside the socket to prevent the bolt from dropping.

    Putting some electrical tape around your swivel will hold it straight long enough to get it in place and pop free once you apply torque.

    I need to do this asap! I was wondering if there was any worry about oil leaking out or running the turbo dry if the supply line wasn't filled, but I guess the shape indicates it will be mostly oil free starting cold.
    I also plan to do the other seals minus the exhaust, I hope there are no other quirks I need to know. Thanks for your videos!

      The engine at idle will fill the oil supply line before you get on the road and spin that turbo with any force. Keep in mind our turbos are VGT, Variable Geometry Technology so the air is directed around the impeller, not through it when no boost is needed. Therefore the turbo is not asked or forced to spin if it does not spin freely.

    Torque specs the same for both bolts? Or does "gutentight" mean just snug it down by feel? :P

    • @FloridaVanMan
      @FloridaVanMan  Před 3 měsíci +1

      By feel. Tighten it down so it doesn't loosen itself. The torque spec is not critical on these since there is no force applied to them during operation.

    Hey why did you hide the part number on the Oring bag?

    Where would be a good place to find this part? I’ve been calling around the auto parts stores and no one has it locally

      This kit has the O-ring and copper seals I should* have replaced. It also has other parts you might want to install now or save them for later. www.millionmilesprinter.com/product-page/om647-turbo-seal-kit
