If I were a professional actor and Anthony Hopkins even so much as nodded at me because of my performance, I'd have died a happy man. Such excellent praise coming from a supremely talented actor like Anthony is the ultimate level an actor can reach imo.
It's too bad that incident lead to Hopkins deciding not to send out personal letters like that anymore. Didn't think it would go public.
It's okay to laugh in this series. While it's a serious drama, it is also a dark comedy at times.
it has a lot of dark humor.
It also has just some regular great humor too. “Gatorade me, bitch” 😂
There are some dark ass but hilarious scenes in this.

Dana H I agree BB is such an amazing show that re-watching it only enhances the experience. It was so well-written, produced, directed, and acted that there are many layers to peel back. One couldn’t possibly absorb all the nuance in one viewing, but even if that’s all you ever do, it is one truly wild ride from start to finish. So happy Nikki & Steven are into reacting to it now. I can’t wait to see all of it, yet again, through their perspective. Yay!!! ❤️

As much as I am a huge GOT fan, Breaking Bad is INSANELY well written and I remember binge watching until I finished it and was left depressed because HOW COULD I LIVE WITHOUT IT?! Bryan Cranston, who plays Walter, is by far one of the most genious actors I've seen. Same goes for Aaron Paul. This show is ALL about character development and a really amazing writting - that's why the ratings are so high.
For me, GOT was tied with BB until the show made it past the books, then it went down in writing quality. BB had an advantage being written by the same writers from start to finish and not being an adaptation of an unfinished work.

Breaking bad has some of the best cold openings of any show ever
This is one of those rare shows that actually continues an upwards trend from season to season of constant improvement, season one is much like this first episode where it doesn't necessarily blow your mind but is enjoyable enough in its own right and then proceeds to morph into one of the most intriguing, well written and gripping stories ever put to film, if you guys get through season one and come out the other side liking it then oh boy are you in for a treat from there onwards.
Yep. The last 8 episodes are some of the best television I've ever watched to this day.

as a brother who watched his younger sister die in front of him from cancer and then the coping mechanism that were employed to deal with that loss, no, nothing you all said or have done offends in any way. I love how Walt’s brother in law planted that idea of mustard gas, and the hazards of meth labs earlier in the episode.
Last year I was in chemistry class and our teacher was super chill and let us fuck around all period. I decided to show some friends the first episode of BB and during the scene in the classroom my teacher told us to pause it and told us that he taught in that classroom and used those colored bottles in labs. I live in NM and this show is our pride and joy lol
This show is amazing, I instantly became a fan when it reached season 2. The writing and the characters completely changed what I've ever known what was possible to write for a TV show
This show contains a lot of serious moments/topics , but it can also be very funny at times, so just so you know, nobody will be offended if you laugh at the dark comedy ;)

At the beginning one of the plaques they show in Walt's house says he shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1985. But for some reason over 20 years later he's working two jobs instead and barely making ends meet. But he clearly knows his chemistry and is a serious genius.

One of the best parts of Breaking Bad is the cinematography. The wide shots of the landscapes are amazing. Best show on TV.
My husband was in a motorcycle accident and was in the hospital for months. I worked 3 jobs the entire time. I've been working 2 jobs for the last 10 yrs. Gotta do what you gotta do to keep the family together.
Remember as well, he has just been told he has cancer and is dying, cancer treatment is likely going to be very expensive for him.

This is one of the few shows that gets progressively better every season, right to the end. You’re in for an epic journey. Also, take time to notice the cinematography. Not only is it some of the most beautiful you’ll ever see, but the continuity is insane. Every image, every colour, every loose end is tied up at some point. It’s a masterpiece.

Great analysis at the end, you’re going to love it. Game of thrones is amazing because it’s MASSIVE (scale-wise) and unfortunately I think it’s fallen victim to being so huge in only a few aspects. Breaking bad is written with such precision and fine detail that it truely is a work of art that in my opinion makes it the best show I’ve ever watch thus far. It never ever loses its realism that you guys have already picked up on

Thank you, Nikki and Steven, for the sympathetic note at the end regarding those of us who may be suffering with the hellish realities of drugs and/or cancer. I've within the last few years lost all my nearest relatives to cancer, my dad and two brothers, my youngest brother's battle ended just this past July and my only remaining near relative (my dear Aunt) has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has been given less than a year - so that's also gonna be a thing. I surely DO watch my shows and then come to all my cherished reactors to make me smile and forget for a few. Thank you guys. 💝

Yeah, it's almost like Boardwalk Empire, The Americans, Friday Night Lights, Six Feet Under, The Leftovers, The Shield, The Sopranos, The Wire, or Deadwood (among others) don't exist...
The first 4 seasons of GOTs is up there, but seasons 5,6, and 8 are not even close and it drags the show down as a whole. Breaking Bad, The Wire, Mad Men and The Sopranos are in a class of their own

The really amazing thing about this show is the the writing crew did almost no forward planning on it, yet they're all just so damn good at what they do and determined to play fair with what they'd done before that it FEELS like something that could have all been planned from the start, with very little you can really think of that could have made it better.
The first episode already gives you a sign of what makes the show so great: the opening sequence is so over-the-top bizarre and with so many specific things going on that you likely figure it'll take the whole season to catch up with it, but nope, we're there in just one episode in a way that feels perfectly natural.
From the first minutes to the very last, I was totally mesmerized by BB. Enjoy the ride!

Nice I watched the entire series and I've been wanting to watch it again...this is the best way, and I don't have to re-watch the entire episode.
as someone from New Mexico, I can say, this show put Albuquerque on the map... and it was in fact filmed in this city... Some places not far from where I currently live, and there is a tour that goes around in an RV just like that one. Enjoy it, it is a great show.
I SERIOUSLY hope that people aren’t actually getting offended by N&S laughing about a show that revolves around a cancer patient and drugs. Not because I care about their delicate feelings, but because no one should have to apologize for enjoying a show, no matter how sensitive the subject matter may be...
