    Awesome couldn’t go wrong with either of them! I have recently become a Bogner fan I’d played a Shiva in the past and although it was clearly a great amp I just didn’t bond with it. Traditionally I’m a soldano type of tone guy but they are unforgiving in as much as they tend toward the treble side. if you’re not playing cleanly especially with sus cords it can get shrill and unpleasant imho. Nice job thanks for the demo

    Great sounds, man. The SLO won me over, however I feel they could all reach that point by giving a little more presence?

    Honestly i wanted to see which i thought sounded best but they all sound identical to me. I guess you couldn't go wrong with any of them.

    Subbed great comparison and playing! I have a Bogner Uberschall and Mezzabarba MZero that gets me SLO and Ecstasy like tones so Friedman for me.

    Awesome playing and tone brother. No winner here; these are 3 modern classics! How do you like the 20th Ecstasy compared to a regular 101b? I have a 90's 101b standard that is still my overall #1!

      I've had both and the Classic. They are all great but to answer your question. The 20th is more open sounding with more high mids and highs. the low end excursion is a deeper lows and not low mid/high bass like the 101B. Clean channel is ridiculously clean and responsive and blue channel has less gain than the 101B and is more JCM800 levels of gain and vintage voiced.

    That SLO sounds f**king spectacular, Brent. I've watched a few of the videos, and nothing you own (aside from maybe that Splawn) sounds as good (IMO). But, when you say "2018 Soldano"...that was right when Mike sold it to B.A.D. So, is your's among the first batch from B.A.D, or is it the last of Mike's builds???

    • @BPToneReview
      @BPToneReview  Před 2 lety +3

      It was one of the last ones Mike built ;)

      @@BPToneReview UGH!...you lucky SOB. That put's this in a whole new perspective, IMO. Different transformers, right? No matter, If I were you I'd be buried with that amp (or pass it down). It sounds beautiful.

      @@phillamoore157 yeah it’s the DeYoung trannys with the factory depth knob. I used to have a 1991 and a 2005 back in the day but sold them due to GAS, SLOs were plenty back then. Then I find out he retired and sold his biz. Went on the hunt for a used one and found one locally at a fair price. I got lucky.

      @@BPToneReview Yup...you got VERY lucky. The price on the Mk1's these days is absolutely insane, assuming you can find one at all. Unless something sensational happens, I won't be getting one any time soon. I do like the Mk II's, but there still seems to be a little something missing. Not sure what it is...not quite as "lazer-like" in terms of it's focuse, and bite. Guess I'll live vicariously through you and a guy on here by the name of "Cragginshred"...who's got a lot of really high-end amps dialed in insanely well. Btw...there may come a day when I either pick-up a SLO 30, or a Twin Sister. I really loved the tones you got out of your Twin Sister. Those were killer too, and gave me even more confidence in that amp. I'm not a Friedman guy but I really like that amp. For me it will be either a Splawn Quickrod, SLO 30, or a Twin Sister. Hmmm.....🤔

    Hey there, in general, which amp do you like the best for classic rock and 80's rock?
    Which would be a passe-partout for a cover band? I got the 101B regular and while its good, i dont ever play it much.

    Why the chorus on such a tone comparison? Soldano wins imho

    • @BPToneReview
      @BPToneReview  Před 2 lety +2

      No chorus was used for that video. Just slight pitch shift on the L/R wet cabs and middle cab was dry. So what your saying is you liked the SLO best with the pitch shift effect of the 3 😁👍🏼

      Sold the BE and bought a BE100 Deluxe and it would probably be it or the SLO. Difficult to pick.
