Well if the scale you use for some reason is F# major(or D# minor, etc) then E# exists.Gotta love music theory 😂

Yep e goes strait to f and b goes strait to c every thing else has a half step inbetwen, I onley refer to those as sharps cause that's how I learned the notes on any gives timning on the neck but am well aware that every sharp is another notes flat

Here’s the thing about Blitzgreg Bop, the song doesn’t start on a power chord, it’s an A major barre chord. It’s a common misconception that they only used power chords, but it means the AI is still wrong.

I actually tried a version of this with ChatSTD and got it to try writing Mastodon lyrics which were similarly facepalm-worthy. I then interrogated it, and it basically said that it has no idea what's actually going on and just kind of generates lyrics that seem like they'd fit in the genre, based on what it was trained on years ago. I don't know if it's actually capable of searching the web, just bringing back past experience.

It's been "a few years" and AI's still not even figured out the difference between nudes and sand dunes, I'm predicting it's not gonna learn to tab better and it might start to try spitting out Clone Hero timing charts instead.

@@neoqwerty Are you aware that the AIs were not trained to create tabs? The approach is a bit childish. Create a database and train a model with rlhf and I assure you it will create better tablature than the average musician.

Still watching the video, however, I wanted to point this out. Every time so far it's giving you tab, there's a major problem with it, it's using a variable width font rather than a fixed width font. So in the example of "Breaking the Law", it's an F power chord the entire time, it just doesn't line up because in a variable width font like it's using, the 3 is larger than the 1, causing those lines to space over further and not line up properly.
That being said, it's VERY apparent that neither "Breaking the Law" nor "Sweet Child O' Mine" are correct tabs for those songs.

You know that you need to go back to the AI and have it fully write a full song for you to record now. It would be fun to see what nonsense that the AI ends up producing if you just let it generate the tabs and lyrics for all the parts. Maybe you can get it to tailor the lyrics a little bit about how robots are taking over the music or something.

AI will never truly take over art. Even if it becomes common to make music and other art forms with AI, people will still prefer their art comes from actual people.
It will because industry will grow to prefer it and it will become our main source.

This was super interesting. I honestly wonder, if the weirdness is due to the weird layout of guitar tab sites. The plain text being made up mostly of numbers and this symbol "-" repeated, oh and lots of spaces for lyrics matching up to the chords that clearly the AI just deletes all together.
I mean, on top of your typical AI weirdness.

I just got an a.i. guitar app for my phone it claims it can tab and cord chart and all that but I admit I have not tried it yett but as soon as I right this iam going to give it a test drive the point of this message is thank you four the inspiration to check it out and for well setting the bar of my expectations not being that high for this new experiment

I agree with that, 2 hours of hardly prompt the logic of Campanella scales ( scales with open strings mixed with freted strings) after explaining that is not Paganini Campanella song i wanted.
Ask it to generate maj or min patterns in keys, what it does makes no sens and really do not integrate the logic behind.

As AI becomes more and more popular, the internet will be flooded with AI-created content. This content will be added to all human-created content online, and the pool of available material that the AI draws from, will grow.
It will also be ever so slightly diluted with every new addition of non-human content.
This process will be very slow at first, but as the ratio of AI-created material to human-created material grows, the quality of the new material will be worse and worse. The amount of shit online will multiply at an exponential rate until everything is just AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
And we will miss the good old days of twitter fights, virtue-signaling, farting pandas and annoying youtubers with guitars

I've spent weeks trying to get it to write chord progressions I can use for original songs, and they're usually not great. Go figure, I can ask it to tab out existing songs and I'd get better progressions and even semifunctional lyrics.

The AI can tell you how to program a Roland tb-303 bassline synthesizer (wich almost no living human has figured out how to do)
But it completely failed to write anything useful. (And usually any random notes will sound great on a 303)
Also tried to make it write drum patterns on a drum machine.
Nope.
I mean, there were the sound of drums, as expected, but there was no rythm.

Guitar arguably is part which lots of Virtual Instrument still struggle to replicate . And if there are some exceptions, those VSTj still need some serious skill and knowledge about music theories and how to playing guitar in manual way
So if AI use same method as those VSTj ,that will end in same path . Until AI company decide starting from scratch and using other method

If a model were specifically trained to transcribe music, with a sufficiently large dataset, and most importantly, an _accurately labeled_ dataset, I could easily see AI models becoming quite good at learning to accurately transcribe music for guitar, or even an array of different instruments.
It would be a multi-million dollar idea if someone were to manage to crack this problem. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if some AI researcher, somewhere, is currently working on building something similar to what I just described. Version 1 would probably suck and barely work, but the same was true for Stable Diffusion v1. The level of improvement that's been made with stable diffusion over just a _single_ year is staggering. I never would have believed it could improve so much, in such a short time-span - it's truly mind-blowing.
Imagine how game-changing it would be to have easy access to _accurate_ transcriptions for any song you could think of! Mark my words, eventually, someone is going to figure out how to make this work, just like every other hard problem which current AI models aren't capable of solving. This tech is moving along at a breakneck pace.
I'm 38, and I've been following AI research since starting high-school, patiently waiting for the field to mature. Right now, the field is finally beginning to mature to a point where people are going to have an extremely hard time accepting just how intelligent and capable these systems are becoming.
The future is coming at us like a fright train, better buckle up!
