Lyrics:
Dark in the city night is a wire
Steam in the subway earth is afire
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
Woman you want me give me a sign
And catch my breathing even closer behind
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt down I'm after you
Smell like I sound I'm lost in a crowd
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Straddle the line in discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt down I'm after you
Mouth is alive with juices like wine
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Stalked in the forest too close to hide
I'll be upon you by the moonlight side
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
High blood drumming on your skin it's so tight
You feel my heat I'm just a moment behind
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
In touch with the ground
I'm on the huntdown after you
Scent and a sound
I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line it's discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine I'm after you
Mouth is alive all running inside
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Hungry like the wolf
Burning the ground I break from the crowd
I'm on the huntdown I'm after you
I smell like I sound
I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line it's discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt down I'm after you
Mouth is alive with juices like wine
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Burning the ground I break from the crowd
I'm on the huntdown I'm after you
Scent and a sound
I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line it's discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt down I'm after you
Mouth is alive - Hudba

What a lovely time.
Folks in 1980: Man, I can’t wait for the future! It’s gonna be awesome!
Folks in 2020: I really want to go back to the 80s.
Haha Great comment! Indeed!
Right? We were supposed to be "driving" flying cars, but we had to teach people to wash their hands, lol
In 2020 all of Duran’s Duran’s comments got deleted 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Seems like technology has blessed and cursed us. Remember the walkman and making mix tapes? The fun of trying to buy a playboy underage? It was much easier back then to get alcohol as a minor tho. Now everyone is woke, stoned and addicted to their mobile phones. And going to covid parties as well. Maybe doctor who can take me back in the tardis. Where is tom baker when you need him?
John Taylor's bass drives every Duran Duran song! He is a very underrated.

There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
It's the official song of 1983
It’s funny you say that… I didn’t start listening to 80’s music until I was in college around 2010, so for me it gives me nostalgia as well but reminds me of the times I had in the early 2010’s. Just goes to show how everyone has their own perspective…
Yes I was born in 83’ but I remember this vividly at 5 years old lol

Congrats to Duran Duran on being part of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2022! So very well deserved
Finally......
still no stone temple pilots, alice in chains, and soundgarden though :(
Halls of Fame, outside of the 4 major team sports Halls of Fame (baseball/football/basketball/hockey), are totally LAME. Why do people even care about this bogus status, for something they truly like (or love) anyway??

Man, I wish the 2020's was like the 80s, Im a 15 year old, and I cannot find satisfaction out of newly released music, I will always listen to 70s 80s and 90s until I die!
This video was shot in Sri Lanka back in the 80’s. beautiful island. watching this is like time travel

One of the first songs I heard in English. I was around 7 years old and my cousin, who was 18, was a huge Duran Duran fan. She taught me how to dance to this music and I loved it! I told my parents I wanted to take English lessons just so I could understand what their lyrics were about! Duran Duran will always have a special place in my heart!
I was learning english at the time and i spend a lot of time reading the words of songs and it helped a lot much m9re than homework
Mine too girl! I was a young girl when I listened to Duran Duran... I was in love instantly! My wall was plastered with Duran Duran! I bought any and everything they had! Such nostalgic memories for me!
So do I! They inspired me to learn English! 😍
You got it baby
I’ve spoken English all my life...I still don’t know what The Reflex is all about..
There's no way they knew how legendary this album would be. Insane.
I broke 3 cassettes playing Rio over and over and over again on my Walkman.

This song was wildly ahead of its time. It could be a hit on the radio today.
No it wouldn't, it's a great song so no way it'd be allowed on the radio.

When I got this 45 back in the day I took it into my room and blasted it at top volume, fully prepared to piss my parents off. Sure enough, my dad comes busting into my room.
"What is this music!" he demanded.
"Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran," I said, sticking my lower lip out, ready to go into full snotty teen mode.
"I LOVE IT!" he exclaimed. "This song is great! Tape me a copy of this!"
Teen rebellion failed! It was kind of a letdown, but at the same time, a great bonding moment with my dad.

This video was released in early 1983 according to VH1's The Big 80's.
Jason Dudash woops! I knew it was around there 😄
@@carolki1315 Yep. But the album was released in 1982. The song just didn't become a big hit until early 1983. Especially the video. When an album is released, sometimes the song is not released as a single right away. Sometimes it takes months for it to be released and to enter the Billboard Charts and to become a hit. When Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers released their first album in 1976, their first hit single, "Breakdown" didn't enter the Billboard Charts until December 3, 1977! I kid you not! But also sometimes, an artist's hit single is released and first enter the Billboard charts before the album is released. And the video too! I remember on a Saturday morning, May 12, 1990, I had just got home from my Grandparents' house, I was in the hospital on the night before due to a bad asthma attack. That Saturday morning, May 12, 1990, I was watching MTV and a new video of The New Kids On The Block song, "Step By Step" aired on MTV. The song was released as a single just two days before. And the VHS video of the same name was released on May 24, 1990. And the album of the same name was released on June 5, 1990. So it's strange that the album was actually released after the video! But you know what? I don't watch MTV or VH1 anymore. And I'm sure neither do you. Because they're not what they used to be. I don't even watch Cartoon Network anymore. Because cartoons they show nowadays are nothing but garbage! Just like today's music videos they show on MTV and VH1. Even MTV Classics! One of the only shows that's good on MTV Classics is I Want My 80's. I'll definitely watch that. That's good music right there. Especially classic rock from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Long live the 60's! Long live the 70's! And long live the 80's! Especially the music videos from those eras.

Holy shit this brings back great memories- MTV was brand new and actually played music videos, what a concept!!!!!
It was really non-stop awesome music in the early-mid 80s on MTV. Just one after another. Def Leppard, Robert Plant, Cindi Lauper, Van Halen, Talking Heads, The Pretenders, ZZ Top, Billy Idol, The Scorpions, The Go Gos, Culture Club, Duran Duran, The Fixx....I could probably list fifty more.
I was still senior in high school when we really got into their music. A friend of mine, his brother bought the album and then we were hooked. Loved this song, recall when it first hit the radio and MTV, yes, that programming station where they actually played music videos and not that BS that they do now. We even drove out from NJ to CT in a snow storm, a 4.5 hour drive, hoping not to miss the show and Duran Duran were delayed as well, due to the weather, but they came, put on an amazing show and we met some cool people before the concert. It was fun and all of this, the music, brings back amazing 80s memories. Very nostalgic.

Lo❤e On May 10, 1982, Duran Duran release their second studio effort, 𝙍𝙞𝙤. Featuring singles "Hungry Like the Wolf," "Save a Prayer," and "Rio," the album peaks at #6 in the United States and #2 in the band's native United Kingdom.
I was a young child when this song came out. I actually bought the record & gave it to my best friend Ginger for her birthday back in 82'....great memories ❤️
The most 80s sounding song of all time.
one of them
One of SO MANY
Van Halen's "Jump" might beat this out
This is first song that I have ever heard
of DURAN Duran way back in 82, I was like, who is this? I have been crazy over Duran Duran ever since. There will never be another band like Duran Duran. True musical icons now and forever.
Agreed! Duran Duran was an unrepeatable phenomenon.
I'm so old that I remember this being the DD song that made me think they were going downhill, but I later realised DD had done well to have two of the best music video makers of the era involved with their earlier big hits "Planet Earth" (Russell Mulcahy) and "Girls On Film" (Godley & Creme) . "Hungry Like the Wolf" is really silly, and so is "Rio", so much so that they're almost campy; but hey, DD elected to go down the Teen Idol track (especially after scoring a US hit $$$ and who can blame them). I don't mind at all hearing HLTW these days on a play list of 80s hits. No Bryan Adams, that's all I ask.
But the good old "they don't make music like this any more" - oh dear. There is ALWAYS good music, ALL the time, and the stuff that you find hard because it's ... challenging... might be the best of all. An open mind, keep an open mind.
And still going strong 💪 all of them have aged beautifully. I hope I get to meet them one day before they die😞I want their autographs on my thigh so I can tattoo them. They'd be with me forever then.
Me. I even wrote about it stevepafford.com/hungrywolf/
agreed!
Best boy band ever! Real talent
still like this song 2024.
Rises up out of the water...hair is perfect... The power and hold of 80's hair gel was impressive!!!!
It's reversed.

Old enough to remember when you watched videos on MTV
NC State baby!! Let's go!
As a teenager in the 80s I was heavily into alternative music at the time. I knew these songs but now in 2022 I have come back to this to realise that damn, these are some really good songs. John Taylor's bass lines are just groove heaven
This is pop
Is THAT BERNARD Montgomery on your LOG0?
@@davidmorales3792that is definitely Sir Bernard Montgomery. Good eye!

Rio's better.
This one is great but, what about Save a Prayer and Rio? I love those bass lines
As was mentioned, this is slick...but that bass run on Rio was just brilliant.
