  • Go Here to Download Your Book - www.myboxingcoach.com - Slipping and rolling can be used as the basis for some pretty fearsome boxing combinations. So you can work defense and attack into a total boxing style, avoiding punches and delivering clean and effective boxing combinations.
The key to the success of these particular boxing drills is the principle of 'Trigger - Defend - Attack'. Each boxing combination is predicated on triggering the opponent into action using the jab.
Following our jab we predict a straight shot response and that is where the slip comes in.
After the slip (defense) we then attack with with our follow up boxing combinations.
So, the boxing combinations that we use in the video:
Jab - slip out - back hand - jab - back Hand
Jab - slip in - lead hand hook - back hand hook
Jab - Slip in - Long lead hand uppercut - Back hand
We are seeing things pretty simple with these boxing combinations.
Just remember that sequence - Trigger, Defend, Attack
    Cheers
    Fran

Frand Sands, The Destroyer. Destroyer of low self-confidence, low self esteem, low self worth. A true champion that remains all these years on CZcams. I remain humbled. Fran Sands The Champion. A Champion never gives up on pupils.

Hi Fran another top vid👍👌 have you used the Century Wavemaster XXL freestanding punchbag? If so what is your honest opinion of it? I’m thinking of buying one to so I can practise my kickboxing/boxing at home as I don’t have anywhere I can put up an hanging heavy bag.

Wake up early if possible. Take the coldest showers possible and relax. It'll help you focus on relaxing when you want to be tense. It'll take a few times before you're able to do it but if you can do it, translate it into your training. Really just focus on breathing (cliche I know), but if the only thought in your head is "breathe deep" you won't be tense looking for how to defend and how to take an opportunity. But this method is only for those who want to be great.

Repetition helps a lot. The more you perform your skills the less you have to think about it because all the movement becomes instinctive and it raises confidence and allows you to relax. You want to drill until you're autonomous.

I tried to slip in with the jab of the opponent and I found my position open for attack. The opponent could throw easily more punches.. When I slipped out to the jab the opponent couldn't attack and I was able to throw a right hook.. I'm orthodox.. Am I wrong?

Newbie here, so it might be a stupid question, but aren't slips dangerous? Because I feel that if your opponent decides to fire a hook instead of a jab or cross, you will stay in the way of that punch.

Palms down or Palms in when throwing a hook? My boxing teacher told me my palms should be in when throwing a hook

    • @attoeattoe2058
      @attoeattoe2058 Před 2 lety

It's a matter of preference, except for the long range hook which should only be thrown Palm down. Long range hook thrown Palm in becomes a slap, which will be ruled a foul by the referee because the knuckles will not hit the target 🥊
