    From what I know, Joey was kicked out as they thought that he was on drugs however he had a spinal issue which affected his playing especially his feet movement so he was unable to play drums for a while afterwards but he recovered and started his own band after.

      Also in the last few shows his playing his playing was so terrible; it was so slow and it wasn't in tempo, so they thought he was in drugs and they kicked him out for his own good, but then later they found it was because of his disses

      He was actually in Scar The Martyr at the time he was kicked out, and he slayed on that album which is why I find the whole Slipknot situation bizarre. He was actually in two bands after Slipknot once he got better, well, better than what he was.

    Joey got a rare disease that almost paralyzed him. The band had a misunderstanding that he was on drugs and kicked him from the band. But Joey recovered from the disease and went on to be in other bands (you should check those out by the way) and eventually forgave the band and had no bad blood towards them in the end.

    Apparently
    In his final days with the knot Joey had been playing a bit iffy yknow and sometimes he had to be carried off a stage
    The band thought he was on drugs and had later sent an email telling him about his departure.
    Both the band and Joey didn't know that he had an illness that affected his legs till later on

    So when it first happened, all the band would say was that they had parted ways. Joey came out a few years later and stated that he was fired via email. Which (if accurate) I will agree was a pretty shit thing to do. Joey had developed Transverse myelitis which is a spinal disease that was affecting his legs. There were times he would have to be carried to stage and it was affecting his ability to play. At the time no one knew what was going on, not even Joey. However you have to think about the rest of the band's perspective: this was shortly after Paul died from an accidental drug overdose. To the band, it may have looked like Joey was also getting so messed up he couldn't perform. And they may have been right in thinking that cause (look it up, excessive drug use CAN CAUSE transverse myelitis, specifically, heroin.) In the song AOV (from the .5 album that was after Paul died and Joey left) Corey says "I won't watch another brother fucking die." So it's very likely the band thought he was having serious drug issues (and he may have been) and let him go to take the stress of the life off of him and he would get help. Either way it's a murky situation that no one really knows the full details of except those involved (Joey and the band).

    Yes!!. I am glad that you are exploring All Hope is Gone a bit more. Not only was the final effort of the original nine (after Paul died... Things got odd between them especially Corey and Joey). To this date, it's considered by many people as their weakest album (maybe because they went on full Death Metal mode) but it has some brutal songs like Gematria, All Hope is Gone, This Cold Black, and the Ballad, Child of Burning Time.

    • @FlyboyHelosim
      @FlyboyHelosim Před 2 lety

      @FlyboyHelosim Před 2 lety +2

      @@astienv3824 They may share small elements but nothing more. By the way, this is not a diss. For some reason people think that death metal is the ultimate and want to compare everything to it. In Slipknot's case it made the songs more generic, with more standard timings and song structures. Death metal by itself is often very generic and bland, so not the best genre to want to draw comparisons with. Ironically this was also the classic line-ups most commercial album, which tells you that death metal isn't as extreme as some make it out to be.

      @@FlyboyHelosim A Diss? Don't worry, sharing and differing opinions will never be an attack (especially when it comes to music) I apologize if my reply was too straight forward and sounded angry, it wasn't my intention. Metal at it's own can be a pretty generic genre (which still I love), as you said there are elements incorporated within certain songs (like the tittle track), the thing with that record is. It's the final album of the line up I got older with, it was such a chaotic period because the band was falling into pieces and after Paul's demise... As much I love the following albums. They don't have the same feeling, vibe.

    I believe his spinal issues was a main reason but i also heard a lot of blame placed on drugs (those 2 go hand in hand of course), and given they just lost Paul to an accidental overdose, they were in the position that they can't live someone elses life for them. I believe the guys got a ton of flak for "not doing enough" to help Paul

    Joey had transverse myelitis and for some time had to stay in hospital, that's why he got kicked out. Still, he wasn't done, after Slipknot he played in several other bands. Anyway, main tragedy of Slipknot was mostly about Paul's death from overdose, Joey's departure just escalated things. And 2 of them were kinda main composers in the band, that's why their newer stuff sounds very different.

    Sulfur has always been one of my favorites ever since I first heard it. All hope is gone is commonly disliked by some of the fans but it's my favorite album of theirs. It will always be special for the fact that it's the last album to have the OG lineup with Paul dying 2 years after and joey getting kicked out a few years after that. Joey had a disease/debilitation of sorts (transverse myelitis) that hurt his drum playing and the band thought he was still on drugs. They kicked him out as a result and didn't really approach him about it which made it sting. But Joey didn't have any ill will towards them after which is very good.
    Plus you guys really need to listen to "if you wanna breathe my sulfur" now after hearing the original. It's a Mashup of this and the spice Girls and its the best thing ever.
    And for one last thing, war games has come back in wwe. They have a brand called nxt that does them, they first brought it back in (I think) 2017 and have done a few since then. There's actually a war games show this Sunday, they do stuff on peacock for any US viewers. Glad they do it again because it's a fantastic match type.

    Slipknot did Joey dirty. When he was in the hospital fighting for his life, only one member came to visit him, when they all knew he was in there. While he was in there he got an e-mail that he was fired, they never gave him an explanation. Turns out it was an acute form of ms, but he recovered. Joey still spoke about them in a very loving way, saying he loved them, they are his brothers, he doesn’t hold a grudge and would love to come back. But they never spoke to him again, never reached out. Joey said that he still writes songs for Slipknot, that he saves just for them, just in case they ever wanted him back...its so sad because in the old days in all the interviews they spreak about being brothers. Joey was a founding member, he came up with the name Slipknot and he designed the logo himmself. Anyway I love your reactions and if you ever want to check out other music that Joey made check out Scar the Martyr Blood host, Vimic she sees everything, Sinsaenum final resolve. These were his bands after Slipknot. He was a true artist and never stopped creating even though he didn’t need to moneywise.

    The Added Tool Influence Within The Songs ''Spirit Of The Void'' , ''Untethered'', ''Swamp Stomp'', ''Behold The Stone'', &' A Killer Finale With ''Nomadic'', Which For Me Was ''Epic!'' Starting The Song In A pink Floyd/Tool Vibe Transitioning Into Bands Like Kyuss, Green Lung, Alice In Chains, Black Sabbath, I Can Hear So Many Bands Influence Within, Then It Takes You Back With That Tool Vibe Ending The Climactic Album With A Sabbath Riff.
    'It Is A Fire Album'' Each Song On The Album Rides Into The Next. With Smooth Flowing Guitar Riffs & Hard Hitting Drums As Jeff's Vocals Reign In With Intensity. I Guarantee If Anyone Takes The Time To Check This Album Out You Most Likely Will Enjoy. Provided You Haven't Already Heard of Them. Or Just Don't Like That Kind Of Vibe. For Anyone Who Does, This Album Is For You!

    I apologize if this is the wrong place to do this, but I can’t figure out where else to contact you. I would love to see your reaction to: “Texas Flood” from Stevie Ray Vaughan Live at the El Mocambo. If you haven’t seen it, I strongly recommend you take the time.

    Joey was hands down fricken Amazing #1 always.
    But, you do realize there are several percussionists in this band right? Lol that's why the "drum sound" is so pronounced. ❤️🤘

    Joey was going through issues with a cute transverse myelitis and at the time didn’t have use of his legs. No legs, no double bass, need new drummer. He rehabbed and played in other bands after but Shawn and Corey who are two of the sole owners of the band if you will had to find a replacement. Words were said, feelings were hurt, they moved on.
    Much like the situation with Chris Adler and Lamb Of God. He got in a motorcycle accident and had a long rehab to go through. Can’t tour, gatta have a replacement. It sucks but it has to happen now a days unless your mates don’t mind throwing away millions of dollars. I’m sure Joey would’ve made it back into the roster if he would’ve got healthy enough to perform at that leve again but he just didn’t have time.
