How to Mix and Export a Track in Cubase | Getting Started with Cubase

- We're here! We've created, recorded and produced a track and throughout the course of this series, many of us will have already started adding FX and adjusting levels in the MixConsole. Now it is time to learn how to control everything you have produced and take charge of the powerful MixConsole and the overall sound of your track. We'll cover everything you need to know to start mixing your own music and release out in to the big, wide world so you can start sharing your music with other people. That's the whole point, right? Rome wasn't built in a day and nor is a mix, so this video is the perfect starting guide to get your mixing muscles moving. Mixing becomes much, much easier when you learn to use your tools to put you in the control. Then, we'll show you how to export a mix down so you can start listening to your mixes in different environments to see how your mixes are progressing.

Thanks for all your wonderful tips! My question is, in this new digital era with everyone listening to their music by streaming on the computer speakers, earbuds, cell phones speakers how do we mix and master our music? The computer and cell phone speakers sound bad and bright and some of the cheaper earbuds as well. Does the listener expect our songs to sound good on these devices. What point of reference do we go by to get the right compromising mix? Thanks for your time. Take care! Billy

I LOVE this guy (I really wish I knew your name and could shout you a beer!!!) and these Cubase videos are fantastic - HOWEVER - a fundamental mistake that so many bloggers and advertisers are making these days happened in this video too. Keep in mind I'm not referring to 'sound' here; I'm referring to language and there is a major difference. Your brain only has ONE language receptor which is why we never have two people having different conversations in an ad or a podcast - the messages simply clutter one-another. WHY then do we have here a narrator (Language #1) clashing the vocalist (Language #2)? The vocalist is cluttering this guy's message ... or he is cluttering hers! Keep the music in the background but only EVER have one language in your message ... in other words MUTE the vocal track while you are speaking. I'm not trying to upset anyone here but it is SO frustrating trying to receive the spoken words with the sung words cluttering it up! Keep up the awesome work!
Something I haven't yet been able to figure out, as an amateur cubase user - is why my mixdown is significantly quieter than what I'm hearing inside cubase while mixing. I'm using a limiter, my levels are within acceptable parameters - but no matter what I do, the mixdown is 100% of the time quieter. Doesn't matter what application I use to play my exported audio - it's quieter. Can anyone relate to this??

How do you add metadata to the mixdown such as ISRC codes, CAE codes and other information?
What is needed to meld the vocals with the instrument is because my vocals sound very different from my instrument. I have the whole music made with MIDI keyboard. I have Cubes Pro 10.
And I have no author instrument I have Focusrite sound card with microphone and headphone.

What exactly are the sample size and bit rate industry standard for CD's?
The problem is that the audio mix down too large so that the export command can not be seen please help me

I'm using Cubase 9.5 pro. But every time I put it to export a track, if it is not configured to render in real time, the software simply freezes. Does anyone know what's going on?

Misleading title. You are not exporting a TRACK. You are exporting the whole mix!
Sometimes in the music world a song is called "Track". In Hip Hop genre for example. In that case it's not one single track from the daw but the whole thing he is exporting ;-)
