I seen Shakey Graves on Reddit yesterday on a AMA, never heard of him. I have listen to this 50 times now. I am pretty sure this is my all time favorite song now.
you don't compare someone this good to someone (or group(s) ) of equal or less awesomeness. Shakey is his own. He's not like Billy Idol, He's not like Tallest Man on Earth, He's not like the Black Keys. He's freaking Shakey Graves.

Gives me the thought about how the biggest cause of depression is probably being overly entertained ( too many ideas and not enough depth in details on them) or overly stimulated by comparisons (repetition in a sense.) It's like you're brain can't find a place to make new pathways and is like "well I guess that's everything." which causes a feeling of overwhelming blankness... The trick to overcoming it I'd say is actually hard work and careful timing. Like an exhausting hike and a breakthrough to something that feels magnificent. Basically crushing your comfort zone till you manage to discover a new sense of well being or a thrilling epiphany. I believe they'd call it enlightenment if it truly sticks and it can be found in many different ways. Although "True" enlightenment takes a long term commitment discovering a mindful piece of music is merely a star in its sky. But from where I am looking Shaky Graves is a bright one!
Get this. He met his longtime drummer and producer Boo at this session. Then a couple years later connected with the love of his life at Utopiafest, and played some epic shows there. We ❤ Shakey big time!
shakey puts out some of the best damn music of the time. he has more heart and soul then most. you can hear his soul. keep it up man I'd love to hear more from ya . and stay true to your inspiration. you have changed my life and sure many others
This kid is absolutely one the best artist I've heard since Damien Rice and Ray LaMontagne and vocally he sounds like a fuse of those 2 brilliant artist fused also with Cobain just my humble opinion
