- we are changing all the five filter and membrane in kent grand plus RO. These filters are sediment filter, inline carbon filter, RO membrane, UF membrane, FRT and post carbon filter. we are also checking the TDS of water at every stage of filtration and finally ph of water after RO membrane.

Thank you so much for the informative video, but could you help me how i will know that which specific filter needs to be replaced and which can be left , my model is kent grand plus and my groundwater tds is 550 ( white layer formed on the surface ).And lastly in between how much time i should replace which of these filters to function smoothly.
There is no specific way to find out which filter should be replaced. Since the TDS of your input water is 550, replace the sediment and pre carbon filters once in 6 months and the rest of the filters in 1 to 1.5 years. If you have a pre-sediment filter installed, change it every 3 months.

About 8 to 10 liters. Do not throw away, use it for any purpose other than drinking.
Maintenance of kent grand plus ro costs me around 7K-10K INR every year. This includes amc cost. If the cost keeps increasing I will start purchasing new ro every year as the maintenance cost is near to new purchase. 😅
why don't you Do It Yourself. once in a year only change the pre filter, sediment filter, carbon filter and post carbon filter all together it cost only rs 1600 to 1700. and also buy a TDS meter (RS 200 to 300) and monitor your water.

Sir, I had purchased my Kent Pristine RO water purifier in 2016. When and how to know that RO membrane needs replacement. Thanks
it depends upon your input water TDS. if it is around 300 then you can replace RO membrane in 3 years and other filters like sediment and carbon filter in one year. if your output water TDS increased drastically then also change the membrane. if the rejected water flow increased then also you have to change the membrane.
I see that you have cut the tag lock in the beginning. At the end, I see that the tag lock is back on? Did you put a brand new tag lock?
I couldn't find a new tag of that size so I tied a string on the back with the tag which is not visible from the front.
Can we clean membrane Filter .. its totally blocked . And we went to buy membrane Filter they just told abd game som little packets .. I don't understand why they gave to my gather incorrect equips..

But I have one problem by seeing your video I have replaced sediment and pre carbon filter and pf candle also but when I check the joint as you check in the video the tds of my ro membrane is 30 but but other one tds is 500 and as result my water taste doesn't change , what could be the problem I have purchase genuine product sediment and carbon filter online of Kent . If the TDS of the pipe which is coming from RO membrane is 30 then it is fine. you said that the TDS of the second pipe which is coming from the UF membrane through the TDS controller is 500. To reduce this TDS turn the TDS controller clockwise, this will reduce the flow of water and the final TDS of the mixture will be reduced. Sir, need a help. My current TDS is 11. They are charging 8k for filter set.I have same model. I hardly used those purifier. Should I change entire purifier set or a part.?
If TDS of outcoming water is 11 then why are you changing the filters. Simply increase the TDS to the desired value with the TDS controller valve. You can watch the video on TDS controller from RO water playlist.
@@diyrepairshi, I have the same model, recently this beeping issue came up and the kent engineer is asking 5500 rupees for all 5 filter change, after watching your video I arranged the carbon and sediment filter online since my TDS is under 200 (right now 46). I could've done it myself but since my filter was under free service warranty, I thought to get it replaced from the kent engineer itself. But as soon as that engineer came, he told us that the beep sound ONLY comes when ALL 5 filters start malfunctioning and I must replace all 5 filters at once. To get a second opinion I contacted the urban company person also, this person also told me to replace all 5 filters at once. He mentioned that this machine is designed in a way that you must change all the 5 filters.
Please let me know what to do. If you're sure that the beeping (&TDS) issue will resolve with changing only these 2 filters (i.e sediment and carbon filters) please let me know, I will do it myself.
I personally feel that this 5500 thing to be a total scam and not worth going for.
I am using the same model which you have shown. On last visit of kent service they said me to replace all the filter but after switching it off for 2 months around today When I switched it on no alarm sound heard and water is also getting filtered but in very slow speed. What is your suggestion in this regard?
You shut down the machine for two months. In these two months, the water accumulated inside the pipe of the machine would have evaporated and left some residue due to which the pipe or filter would have got a little jammed. There is no problem with this, it will be fine in two to three days.
I also own a kent grand plus RO filter, and every year I'm kind of frustrated at this recurring cost, its 5 6k..although the water quality is good in our area and the tds is below 200...
My question is do we need to change the filters every year?

And why the filters make so much noise while switching on? Is it due to the pump
If TDS is less than 300 in your area then replace RO membrane, UF membrane and post carbon filter once in three years. Replace the remaining two filters i.e. sediment filter and pre carbon filter once in a year. The noise is caused by the booster pump.
Hi brother, I wanna ask one thing. My osmosis water drainage pipe continuously water was flowing from it. I found that the non return valve is damaged so I replaced non-return valve. Now what happened after the tank is filled drainage pipe water flow gets stopped which is good but drops won't stop.what would be the reason is there is a problem with the return valve. Is the non return valve is defective or what ..... Please advise if you can
it is not a non returning valve, it is a FRT (flow restrictor) used in drainage pipe. FRT is used for giving pressure to RO membrane. if water is coming continuously through drainage pipe then change the solenoid valve.

how old is your filter. beep sound does not give the exact condition of your filter. it is programmed in such a way that after certain liter of water used it start beeping. first of all reset the ballast. Video link

do you replace the motor with same specification as the old one. because GPD (gallon per day) of RO membrane and motor should be the same. if RO membrane is very old then try to replace the RO membrane also.

the motor used in RO is a pressure pump. it pushes the water by to and fro motion of diaphragm. the sound might be from defective mechanism of diaphragm or ball bearing of motor. just do one thing, change the polarity of motor if still you hear the sound then change the motor. what is the TDS of your RAW water?
@@diyrepairs sir der is small square shape device with wires (next to motor) makes cut cut sound.
that is a solenoid valve. it is connected parallel with motor. its function is to pass water when it gets 24 volt dc supply. replace it with new one. you can identify solenoid valve in block diagram given in this video.

If the UV lamp is glowing there is no need to replace the UV lamp. The steel gray thing is the cover of the UV lamp. Change only the sediment filter and pre carbon filter once in a year and the rest three filters once in three years if the input water TDS is less than 500.
My kent ro is giving continuous beep sound and water isn't coming down to the tank. Does that mean I will have to change all 5 filters? My filters are around 15-16 month old.
Actually the choke or ballast inside the machine is programmed in such a way that after 700 hours of use it starts beeping. It does not give the exact condition of your filters, when uv lamp fails, also then ballast beeps. UV fail alarm sign is 2 short beep in every 2 second. it is good practice to change all filters after one year. especially sediment and carbon filter. after replacing filters you have to reset the ballast.

@@diyrepairs ok i had to call a guy from local RO shop, he changed sediment and carbon filter, he used spare parts of brand named "convertor". can you tell me if buying a generic spare part verses buying kent spare parts make any difference? The TDS of my water is still "200", i want the tds to be 200.

then UV chamber to post carbon filter then to non returning valve then to storage tank.

@@diyrepairs bhai as per page number 6 diagram shows sediment to booster pump, booster to carbon to sov this is wrong as per machine condition. But you mention above is correct why the manufacturer information is different from the real machine requirements
only the position of solenoid valve is different in the manual. but it will not affect the performance because the purpose of solenoid valve is to stop the water flow when machine is not running. if there will be no solenoid valve then water will flow through UF membrane to tank even when machine is off and the water tank will overflow. so the position of solenoid valve can be anywhere before UF and RO membrane.

niche ka drain plug ek simple screw hai. anti-clockwise ghumane se khulega. hath se nahi khule to slide wrench ka upyog kar sakte hain. agar ek din me 10 litre tak paani ka upyog aap kar rahe hain to 2 se 3 mahine me tank ko saaf kijiye.

It is not mandatory, but use a quality filter because ultimately you are drinking water.

Sir , the company mechanic only changes 3 parts of ro during 1st servicing for rs 4600 . And after 3 days of servicing the purifier starts leaking. What should we do?
What are the three parts? Where is it leaking from? Do it yourself servicing is very easy.

@@user-priyapatel Auto cut is not working that's why the leak is happening. What type of float switch is installed in the machine? Float switch cuts off power to the machine when the storage tank is full. It is present in the water storage tank. Check float switch wiring.

how old is your filters? check the rejected water flow. if it is high then the pump motor, FR valve or RO membrane may be faulty. generally RO membrane has rating 80 GPD. that means it can filter 80 gallon of water per day. 1 gallon is equal to 3.78 litre. approx 302 litre of water per day membrane can filter. it also depends upon the input water TDS.

check the flow direction of filters(arrow mark) then connect in this sequence.
1. low pressure switch

It was not sweat but water. I prefer to work with clean bare hands rather than using gloves because in my opinion if you are healthy then the micro organism present on your skin fights the bad bacteria virus and fungus.

check the tds of output water. change in taste is mainly due to tds. if tds is high then adjust it. did you also change the RO membrane. if yes then check the TDS at RO output point before UV filter. the new RO membrane gives TDS between 10 to 20.

But i need to check the tds after ro membrane outlet.
Also my rejection rate of water is increased its taking more than 20 liters water wastage for giving full tank 8 liter ro water. So is there any fault.
@@deepeshyadav121 rejection rate of water depends on booster pump and ro membrane. if booster pump produces less pressure then the rejection water increases. if GPD (gallons per day) of RO is less, then it rejects more water. one more factor is the input water TDS level. if TDS is more then also it rejects more water.

I have another question: Is it possible to backflush the RO membrane in Kent RO? I saw it here czcams.com/video/YdsLhIE7BME/video.html
Back flush is more effective in other filters but in case of RO membrane it is not very effective as the hole size is around 0.0001 micron. Once the hole is choked it requires a lot of water pressure to be cleaned which cannot be generated by the booster pump.
