I got banned from driving for 1 year & needed solution to get to work (15 miles away) . That was wen I stumbled on Andy curby doing this . I now cummute to work everyday on ebike . Been though it all .
Spoke replacements , snapped throttle , controller fets shorted in rain .. best thing ever saved me a ton on money on petrol
Do you use a hub or mid drive kit? I’ll be cycling in rain and want best solution
How do you avoid theft of your bike?
@@ArthurTugwell it's a hub, tighten up goose
Anybody find that the wheel once fitted is more to one side than the other
I aswell use a 3000watt 72v . I get everywhere i need and really fast aswell ^^
Didn't know Jason Statham rode Ebikes? 😄 Even without converting the Giant Mtb looks Amazing. 👍
I feel like I should buy a bike off him or he will track me down, sleep with my girlfriend, crash my car than somehow make me kill myself.
👍👍👍😆
From tha dollar store
lmao
And he's British too!😊
Great video I've been doing diy electric bikes for 2 years with what I learn on CZcams.
This video explains everything very well and makes like so much easier after watching this video.
Keep up the great work pal
@UK Outdoor Flowers 30mph plus is that safe with that gear cycle frame?
I worked with a crew that fitted machinery worldwide. All our batteries had to be removed and put in to a marked padded fireproof case prior to travelling. Some really useful tips. Thanks for the video :)
Absolutely love the Kirby kits. I have a 500w rear hub diy kit and the install was pretty straight forward, had to test fit the wheel two or three times. I also ditched the bag and designed and 3d printed a bracket and integrated cable management box.
I made a custom torque bracket from 4mm stainless steel.
The 500w kit is all I ever need. Good power and pretty good range with the included battery 48v 13a.
Nice instructions not many go into detail about the washers.👍
What kinda range?
@@janeblogs324 About 35 km with throttle only.
Thats the kind of OCD that appeals to me! 🤣 Definitely interested in having a go at a project like this sometime soon...
He just resells ebike kits from aliexpress
What’s the throttle only speed?
I like these videos. The everyday use approach (obviously you don't need everything in the kit, if you don't want to).. and the subtle humor and throughness. One thing I would've liked to see was the casette/freewheel installation, and probably some mention of the hub spacing on MTB's (depending on the type of dropout), what you can do and what you can't do. There's plenty of videos on the tube about changing freewheel/casette for sure, but not many doing it on a 2kW hub motor.
I've got an MTB with QR dropouts and those only have 135mm spacing at the hub. It won't fit a motor like this and a 7 speed freewheel/casette I think.
Great video. Could not have done it without it. Covered all the nuances clearly and succinctly. Perfect.
finally, a no BS Channel cheers Dude will be soaking you're vids n knowledge of the Ebikes.
Finally...
I've seen guys from cali messing with this hub motors years ago, and gosh they had some powerful ones.
Well done and explained.
Excellent tutorial video mate, that was soo straight forward and featured every tip you could ask for - top notch!
Thanks so much didn't expect such a great response it's nice
@DudeStuff Buddy these three ebike build videos are just awesome and will save a lot of new ebike builders time without the frustrations and headaches. The information on removing the plastic spacer behind the disc brake is so helpful along with the washer spacings for the dropout. I can wait to try my installation again when I have the opportunity!
Mate I love the walkthrough step by step so much detail put into it which makes it even better to understand thanks for that was amazing bro ’ll be doing as you say to build my own sometime when I get around to getting all the stuff when I have the money can’t wait to watch the rest bro thanks 🙌👌👍🤙😎😎
Well done Steve..this will help alot of people doing there diy builds. Some really good points there, a few important tips that for new builders can be a Real ball ache. 👍
Best tutorial ever! Thanks bro for sharing allí this info with us, this Is the exact same kit I want to buy
This was an awesome video!!! Iv watched other videos about such and dudestuff actually answered some of the questions I had! We will see if I can make it look as smooth
Great video, I done mine a few months ago and had the same issue with hydraulic brakes very close to the hub but the spacers done the trick.
That was very easy to understand, well done, your very professional in walking us through the process, thank-you
Awesome!
Straightforward first class demo👍
Thank you for this video is the best i have seen yet for these conversions. Very detailed. No bs.
Just bought & fitted my first Kirkbe kit. Your advice on fitting washers to the cassette side of the wheel saved me from smashing the kit into a million pieces, in utter frustration! Thanks chap, top, top geeza!!! I agree about the PAS sensors too, can be a real pain to fit and using throttle only gives a much smoother ride.
You're welcome 😊
Great video, so clear and realistic nice tip about not applying the brakes and locking up the pads.
Great video. In the near future I will build Kirbebike's 1500-2000w hub motor kit for my second bike. I just ordered it. My first conversion was a Bafang 750w mid kit. I drive it mostly in the forest and in the countryside. I got some good tips for the future conversion from your video👍
Very well put together video, great job!! Just got my first ebike last week and i love it!!
Great tutorial for fitting the rear wheel with great detail 👍
Great informative video.I have never had an e bike and am looking at options,so i am glad i found your channel.
Thank you for making this video. I have been thinking about building my own electric bike and most videos are more like paid promotions and don't have a lot of actual advice in them. I would make one suggestion on buying the caliper space to the motor. They sell brake disc shims to go behind the rotor in 1mm increments. Use a rotor shim, and then you can adjust the caliper on the mount as they usually have some side to side adjustability to keep the pads evenly spaced on each side.
brilliant every step explaination along with quality video footage from you both.. THANKS DUDE
13:00 yes when the wires touch you are actually completing a circuit on the coils this is reason why you have resistance which is only present in permanent magnet motors. If if was a induction motor you wont experience any resistance until you apply power to the coils.
I learned a lot from this video, especially about installing the back wheels. Now I know why I started getting play when I fixed back wheel flats. Never used a hammer to fit it into the cassette.
Great video very informative I'm thinking about getting one of these kits soon, so this was very helpful. 👍
Nice little step by step Steve 👍
This is excellent education. This chap is explaining everything he can think of.
Yeah great video dude. First timer here. Great coverage of small details. Love the smart casual dress code too.
That's looking nice Steve with the Maxis logo in white on the tires just makes the bike pop mind you you've got I good for these builds ye this is gunna be a sweet bike 👌
Very helpful thanks mate look forward to part two might have a go myself
Great video! Really well explained.
Great vid. Can't wait for part 2
Been looking for this for ages…great instructions thanks
brilliant video definitely gonna get the 2000 watt kit now you have explained it so well
Clued up and well presented, I'm going to go on to your ''It's finished video'' next as I want to see it complete.
Following this vid, my wheel has gone in easily - almost too easily :-) Everyhting lined up virtually straight away, seems solid.
I like how you minimalise it, using only the stuff you really need. Mine will be built the same style.
Thanks for that is really clear and your experience of pitfalls was excellent 👍
thanks m8, i found this upload better than most for me, showing problems you might have.
Braz your the real transporter gonna cop a kit and follow in your footsteps only just begun in OZ
Thanks for your clips real gent shit 🙏
appreciate the mention about the motor wires that the motor won't spin if they are touching, many people don't mention that. Thank you.
Great build my man. Can't wait to see u ripping about on it👍
Great video, keep up the great work. Makes me really want an E bike now. Cheers 🍻
Straight to the point no bollocks bosch! Nice one feller.
A really good video with all the pitfalls pointed out.
Great tutorial. Very well explained thank you!
Thank you for this! Great guide video and easy to understand.
Clear and concise. Thanks mate - great help 👍
You're welcome
Great vid with quite a few gotchas. Nice one, subscribed😎
Excellent presenting skills. Sounds like you covered just about everything. 👍
Good video! It helped me with my first 1000w ebike! 😀
Hey bro! Thanks for your advice on things. Appreciate your dedication towards making the video.
Good video . Thanks.
I enjoyed the terminology differences between your location and mine. Eg: " Jubilee clip" where i am is called a " hose clamp".
Cheers!
Nice one! Highlighted all the mistakes I made, very well explained
Great video, love all the extra tips
Mate great detail really looking out for all pitfalls. 👍👍
Watched this video before I built an Ebike from a kit, saved me lots of time. I would not have known to remove the disk spacer, slotted right in. I built the bike in 1.5 hour.
Another good vid Steve 👍
Quality, like your delivery mate 👍🏻
Nice walk through on the install. The only thing I would have done differently is using an old inner tube as protection of the frame where the jubilee clip is at. I also used old tubes to protect the frame from the chain and if you take your time wrapping the frame it actually can look good.
Agreed! Something else to keep in mind while ebiking is to wear the proper helmet, most helmets have an outdated safety standard, the best ones are the ones that pass the nta standard like xnito or bern hudson
Good idea. I was just gonna wrap some tape around the frame where the clip goes 🙂
How you explain to do the bike I think it's 100% correct I recommend you to anybody look at your videos
This is priceless information, than you. I got the kit today, I'll make a start at the weekend 😁
Watching this again as I'm going to install my first rear hub motor...
Great work buddy. Very clear.
Great informative video fella, top man 👍
Fantastic fitting tutorial
Great advice. I'm considering getting a kit now.
Mate this is amazing vid so much detail and not skiping a single step wish more tutorials where like this
Thank you 😊
proper great clear vid on how to do it...thanx
Bloody brilliant mate, top notch!
Thank you 😊
Awesome video and thank you for sharing your tips 💙💙👍👍
Great usefull info, subbed!
Thanks for share mate, definitely a great help.
You are the dude bruss🤙🏽
Absolutely fantastic thanks
Glad to see you were using flush cut cutters to trim the tails off the cable ties. The number of times I cringe when someone cuts off the cable tie tails leaving a 3 x 4mm razor sharp edge. I used to use thousands of cable ties at work and if we left any sharp edges we were in trouble from whoever cut themselves on them. By using those flush cut cutters with the flush side toward the head of the tie the tail gets cut flush with the surface leaving no sharp bit sticking out.
That's what I like to see in England, a proud Englishman, respect from a proud Irishman 🇮🇪🤝🏴🤝🇬🇧
Love this , dude - defo thinking of going electric!
You'll love it! I just made my first build!! Check it out?
Explained great mate.
Sweet ride dude .
By the looks of it, this clip saving a bunch of headaches, pretty much mandatory viewing if contemplating this kit....
Hi ho from australia, beautiful job of quality fitting,i,m going to re name you roger rolex, swiss quality job.love the use of the zip ties, neat quality job,why not!! Looks great, goes great.also great tip thinking ahead putting allen key head out, hold nut at back.you set a high standard of quality and attention to detail.plenty of people pay for that attention to detail.good stuff nice to see ,"doing the right thing".thanks for the lesson, cheers
Thanks Mad Dog. Very useful.
This dude is awesome!!
Great guide. Thanks v much.
Outstanding video work and explanation. Well done.
that is a sweet set up, super useful video
Time for a rewatch as my kit arrives in a few days
Same here😂
You are one of the best ever video tutorial presenters and ATB engineers ive ever had the luck to find, brilliantly presented mate, and in my native cockney accent which is a whole lot easier for me, I really do hope there is many more videos to come, do you have direct contact detail as I may need to ask advice during the summer of 2023.
Great demo!
Ive never done anything like this but have wanted desperately to get into it....I just need to take the plunge thanks for taking the time to methodically go through first stage. 👌🏻🔥👌🏻
how did it go?
I would also think that spreading the rear end with a washer may result in having to space the rear brake disc, or you might find it binding with the bake pads all in all a very good tutorial for beginners. ;-)
these kits are engineered for a "range" of different spacings for all of what might be available out there..they are kits>>.not for the feeble minded or bot it together rich kids...
Wayne the pro
Well done mate good video we’ll explained 👍👍👍
GREAT FITTING GUIDE ! :)
Great explanation 👍🏻
Great video mate
Thankyou for your detailed video. I would like to do my 1st bike and I found this very helpful. Thanks.
You're very welcome 🙏
