  • Fredericksburg has become one of my favorite little towns in Texas!
This charming place has everything from boutique shops, antique stores, high-end restaurants and is beaming with German culture!
Being of German decent myself, I felt a special connection here to my roots.
I visited last January and stayed with a friend I had recently met on a plane.
This just proves that you never know where you're next friend might come from!
Besides checking out a bunch of stores, we visited the Vereins Kirche Museum as well as the Pioneer Museum and learned all about the history of Fredericksburg.
Next we had lunch at Tubby's Ice House and split an order of pulled-pork fries which were amazing!
Then my friend showed me Carol Hicks Bolton Antiquities, which sources pieces from around the world!
I love mixing old and new and it's places like this that make my little heart happy!
Our last few stops were the Japanese Garden of Peace which was so calming and St. Mary's Catholic church which boasts beautiful Gothic architecture.
Fredericksburg is German soul in the heart of Texas and is definitely a must see!
