Who needs to buy a celebrity map when you’ve got Steve?💁🏻♀️🗺️
Lol 😎👍
Thanks for taking us along! I’m amazed you never see anyone outside their homes. But maybe it was just too early in the day.
Hi Maddie, Exactly, at six or 7 AM in the morning there usually aren’t too many people up and out yet. I’m usually surprised that there are so many people out exercising or walking their dogs. 😄👍
Some places all over the world that you think would be so busy, never see anyone. Lol.
Thanks Steve for sharing your morning outings with us. Love Palm Springs❤❤❤
Thanks for coming along Monika. 😎👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve 🙂💕
And the great stories just keep coming along with your walks Steve! Thanks for taking me along today. ❤️ Paul
Hi Paul, as always, thanks for coming along. 😎👍
Listening to you is healing for me. Thank you for sharing the walks & talks.
Hi Tamorah, that’s nice to hear. Thanks! 😊👍
I think this one of your longest I never knew so many celebrities lived in Palm Springs. Always enjoy you trips down memory lane and cemetery trips thank you for taking us with you , for us that might never see this other wise
Yes and this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to celebrity homes here in Palm Springs. 😎👍
Thanks for bringing us along to visit some celebrity homes.
Thanks for coming along Sally. 😎👍
I love those pink doors too.
😄👍
Hi Steve. Great walk. Loved the "art house". Thanks.
Thanks guys! 😎👍
This was the perfect video to start my day! A nice walking tour through a beautiful neighborhood and the sunshine was perfect. Thanks Steve!
Thanks Diana, glad you enjoyed it! 😎👍
Hi Steve...love the walking tour....the pink door house was very cool....the flowers and plants...sure are beautiful... colorful...have a nice Memorial Day weekend take care ..... Deborah 🇨🇦
Thanks Deborah. I would say the same to you but I’m assuming you celebrate a different type of Memorial day up there. 👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve yes...may 20th. was Victoria Day. July 1st. Is Canada Day same as Memorial Day...... Deborah
Absolutely love your videos!!! Many thanks!! Hope you and Jim are doing well!
Thanks Jan, that’s really nice to hear and the same to you! 😎👍
Thanks for the early morning walk through The Mesa neighborhood. Wonderful seeing the homes nestled in the rocks and hills. You are up walking before the birds begin their early morning songs! 😍
Glad you enjoyed it. I see you are an early riser too lol! 😆 I was actually surprised that I even up before the birds this morning! 😂👍
Hey Steve I loved these videos that you do on your walk I really enjoyed them
Thanks for the feedback Syreeta! 😎👍

Thanks John 😎👍
Pretty windy here in Victorville too Steve. Great vid 👍🙏
Sorry to hear that Gregory and thanks. 👍
As always, another great video! I was a little depressed earlier after watching the news, but as always, your videos uplift me emotionally after I watch them during lunch.
I know what you mean L, The news seems to get more depressing every day! 😲😩 these walks are perfect to help me take my mind off of it too! 😄👍
Aw great video again steve keep them coming and thanks again love from Scotland 🏴
Thanks Tom!
Hi Steve love these walks you do so interesting and it’s beautiful to boot win win 😂❤ have a great memorial weekend ! Any fun plans for you and Jim ? Quiet weekend for us resting after finishing the new bathroom ❤
Thanks Jackie, good luck with the bathroom. We are staying home and not doing much either. I may go to the cemetery though. 😊👍
Ty for taking us along, just what I needed this morning ❤
Thanks for coming along. I’m glad you enjoyed it Elaine! 😄👍
Your so close to my former home in the Indian canyons. I agree, I always had to walk in the street as there really wasn’t any sidewalks. Isn’t Barry Manilo’s house somewhere there. Really enjoyed this video. Keith
Hi Keith, what a small world! And yes, he’s also in this neighborhood, but he’s in the southern end that you can only get two if you walk out on Palm Canyon Drive. I will probably do that walk in a future video. Thanks for watching. 😎👍
Oleanders can live very healthy with very little water so very appropriate for the desert.
One trip down there to visit my old boss, i attended St Paul's Episcopal of the desert, and when he picked me back up he drove me through the neighborhood beyond the church and it was a beautiful neighborhood, he said a lot of celebrities had homes there.
Yes, they are perfect for the desert weather. Unfortunately they are poisonous to dogs and their roots are very invasive and can ruin the foundation of homes, so over the years most homeowners have remove them. It’s too bad because they are so beautiful. 😎👍 i’m not sure where that church is, but I will Google it. I’ll add it to my list of neighbors to walk in.
Wow, I just Googled it and it's in one of my favorite neighborhoods. I've walked or driven by that church a thousand times and never even noticed it. I've also done one or two walking videos from that neighborhood, but not that section. It's a huge neighborhood. I will definitely be walking there soon and giving you a shout out. Thanks for the comment and your friend is correst. There are probably more celeb homes in this neighborhood than in any of the others. :-)
@@theretiredlifewithsteve I've had oleanders in my yard with dogs ( I have dachshunds) and never had a problem. The red ones are the slowest growing, white ones grow the fastest
I live in Illinois and I’m sure I wouldn’t be coming to palm spring , so it’s so nice to see these homes. Thank you.
The next best thing to be in here in person. 😄 Thanks Linda. 😎👍
Cool houses thanks Steve
Thanks Carol. Glad you liked them. 😎👍
We love your walks here in Gettysburg ❤
Thanks Alex! 😄👍
Take your Guide Book with You so You have it on hand. Awesome Video!!! Girl I Love Your Hat!
Good advice. Unfortunately, my hands are full with my cameras, and my backpack is already really heavy with water and back up cameras, etc. What I really need is an assistant to come with me to carry the book and all my other stuff lol! 😄👍
Great job ❤❤❤😮😮😮😊😊😊 Steve
Thanks Wanda!
Love your videos. So glad I came across your channel. Thanks 😊 have a nice weekend
Thanks Lorilee and the same to you. 😄👍
Thanks Steve 💕for another beautiful neighborhood walk! That’s a really cool fact about Disneyland 🌵Frontierland landscaping that I hadn’t heard before.
Thanks Scarlet, I was afraid that it might be old news by now. Glad to know it wasn’t. 😄👍
Yes, those were roses. You can tell by the leaves. Thanks for taking us with you! 😊❤
Thanks Peg! 😎👍
You know I had to wait until the end for the pink flamingos 🤣. And no blower today but you were upgraded to a lawnmower to photo bomb you! Beautiful neighborhood,
Lol I guess the leaf blower needed to take a day off so he got his friend to fill in for him! 😳😲🤣
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY FROM SAN ANTONIO TX
Happy memorial day weekend Paco!
Hi Steve thank you for the great tour hope you and Jim have a safe Memorial Day Weekend take care
Thanks Lana and the same to you. 🇺🇸😎👍
Your commentary is always so thoughtful and well informed.
Thanks Catherine. That’s very nice of you to say. 😄👍
Fascinating video. You always have so much information with your walks. My favorite house was the one with the pink doors.😊
Glad you enjoyed it Renee! 😎👍
As always, another great video! The San Andreas fault starts at the Salton Sea, runs through Desert Hot Springs and on through San Francisco. The fault splits into two principal strands west of Desert Hot Springs. The northern strand, the Mission Creek fault, crosses Highway 62 around Indian Canyon. The southern strand, the Banning fault, crosses Highway 62 around Dillon Rd.
Thanks MD for the updated info! 😎👍
Yes I was going to move to DHS after I retired and while still working I sold something to a geologist vacation home in Arizona and told him how much I enjoyed the desert and I was considering Desert Hot Springs, and he asked me if I ever saw a fault line map and advised me to find one. I discovered the fault line went right through the neighborhoods I was looking at, and Mission Lakes County Club neighborhood it goes through houses . I completely changed course and actually stayed in northern California and just take frequent trips there
Yeah, probably good advice. Plus, they say the big one hits every 100 years or so and we are long over due for the next big one! We are keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't happen until long after we are in the grave. :-O
Love to go along on your walks. I live north of Pittsburgh, PA. Not very many celebrity neighborhoods around here. Interesting houses but no one likes people videoing while you’re walking past their house. It’s also nice to see what the other side of the country is like. Can’t wait for the next walk.
Thanks for coming along Tina! 😎👍
Awesome walk along. I always enjoy seeing you again 😊
Thanks so much Jody! 😎👍
Thanks Steve great video, I'm adding these homes to my personal tours I give to family and friends of famous homes in PS
That’s fun that you do that to Ace! 😎👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve Thanks Steve
I always enjoy your FRIDAY walks 🏃👟, Luv celebrities!! YAY!😍 Thank you for your videos Steve .⛰🏞 From Florida ☀️🐊………KAT.
Thanks Kat. Glad you like them! 😎👍
Thanks for the walk, tour and answering my questions. Until you mentioned it today, I never knew about the nudist aspect of PS. I don't even recall reading about it. See, we are never too old to learn Steve.
Hope you guys have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Peace...
Hi Stacy, thanks for being a part of this video. And I agree that’s part of the fun of these walks. I learn something new on every walk too. happy memorial day weekend. 🇺🇸😄👍
Summer time in Palm Springs is hot like Houston. I watched Sinatra in Palm Springs documentary & Triene Lopez was a wonderful narrator. His family sold the house for 2 million. Beautiful houses & this is on my bucket list. 🍀😎👍
Hi Tex, it’s a great bucket list destination for sure! 😎👍
You guys do live in a nice area..thanks for sharing
Thanks Lisa and I agree! 😎👍
Loved this walk through Mesa Steve 👌🏼Great peeking behind the curtain of old Hollywood !
Glad you enjoyed it RB! 😎👍
Hi Steve and Jim .It was windy a couple days ago here too .Hope you have a great day weekend .Nice to see some stars homes .Enjoying my Roku on my Smart Tv
Thanks, you too Patti!
Very interesting to see the landscape and the native plants. I am on the East Coast and the West always looks a bit alien to me. Beautiful area however. I do enjoy your walks and talks Steve!
I know what you mean Mikki, on my last trip back to the East Coast I couldn’t believe how great it was. I felt like I was in a tropical rainforest most of the time. It’s so different from California lol! 😳🤣
I know what you mean, born and raised in Maryland, on my first trip to California, I was blown away by how different everything is. I wasn't aware of how green Maryland is and how brown California is. I love the contrast of green trees, brown mountains and bright blue sky in CA.
Soooooo interesting and beautiful. Love it! 👌☀❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it Deborah 😎👍
Nice Steve👍love these walks😁
Thanks Daniel. Glad you like them! 😎👍
Happy Memorial Day weekend Steve! 🇺🇸💚another good video! 🏞️🌴
Thanks Linda and the same to you! 😄🇺🇸👍
Cool video
Thanks Beth!
When my family and I were walking in the Kirk Douglas neighborhood was the same no sidewalks good question my mother n law lives in Joshua Tree and she said the same about no street lights across the street from her house beautiful view of stars she calls them twinkling lights ❤it’s a beautiful sight
Hi Danette, I bet her view of the stars out in Joshua tree is spectacular. The way it used to be here in Palm Springs. Now the city is so large that even without street lights there are so many lights at night that you can hardly see any stars in the sky at all. 🙁
@@theretiredlifewithsteve Hi Steve yes exactly when they move there years ago early 90’s they purchased the property across the street from their home they wanted that gorgeous view have a great weekend thank you for the awesome walk
I agree with Steve do be careful walking or riding bikes. My husband and I ride our bikes all over town and would never ride without helmets. We walk one of our dogs for an hour everyday through the Mesa and Twin Palms neighborhoods. Lots of people walking in South Palm Springs. Best part of Palm Springs in our opinion. Thanks Steve learning more about our neighborhood from your video.
Hi Randy, thanks for sharing with us. If you ever see me fill me in on the streets, definitely say hi. 👋 and I agree with you, South Palm Springs is definitely the nicest area. Especially when it comes to your lack of wind. We are in the northern end of town and get a lot of wind in the Springtime. I actually love the wind in the summer though. I think I would melt in the summer in South Palm Springs without any wind lol! 🥵
@@theretiredlifewithsteve Yeah we leave for the summer. Love Palm Springs to death, but you know about the summers here.
I love the pink gate! It is very pretty.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I just read that Joseph Cotton's house was once owned by June Lockhart. The house is now a BnB.
Great video Steve some of the houses are like some thing you would see in a film set in the future very modern...never heard of no foot paths or no street lights very good for looking at the stars.
some people in cities have to drive a few miles to the country to escape light pollution., Patrick in Ireland 🇮🇪
Hi Patrick, even with few street lights and we still have a lot of light pollution. I think we have somewhere between a half a million to a million residents here in the Coachella Valley now, so it’s rare that you could ever see any stars at all! In the 1960s here, before the desert became so populated, every night you could look up and see billions of stars. It was beyond awesome. Sadly I haven’t seen a star in years! 😩
Thanks for the walk Steve. Never been in the area before and always wanted to see where Sonny Bono lived, along with his wife who became a Ca. Senator.
Hi Perry, I just wish they had a plaque on the gate. But then I wish they had historical and celebrity plaques on the outside of every home lol! 🤣👍
210 El Camino Way - originally built for the Hammond family, founders of the Bumble Bee Tuna empire. (selling price 4.7 million.
Hi William, Thanks for researching that and sharing it with us! 😎👍
He’s mowing the street 😂😂😂. I found that to be quite hysterical 😂
Lol crazy, right? 🤪
I was watching million dollar listing and she was wanting to sell that house . It’s a lot of different levels outside with about two guest villas on the property.
Yes, we saw that episode too. That’s one of our favorite TV shows! 😎👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve yeah it’s one of my favorite shows. Too very unrealistic. For the average homebuyer well at least for me.
I was the one who asked you if you could check out Robert Wagners and Natalie Woods home in the Mesa Neighborhood! THANK YOU DEAR! Yay! Also, and you may know, but 210 El Camino Way was owned by Henry Mancini! Wow! ⭐ THANK YOU STEVE. ❤❤❤❤
Hi Deborah, thanks for being a part of this video and for the update on Henry Mancini‘s home! 😎👍
Good morning from SanDiego 😊
Good morning Dodi! 👋
Thanks, Steve, for the beautiful walk! How many miles did you walk?
My city has neighborhood names. I live in Sterling Oaks . My previous neighborhood was Sunset Hills. Neither are even close to this fancy! 😂
Interesting to know that your city does that too! 👍
I drove up that street one time when I was down there. Goldie and Kurt's house is not too far, only I don't know street names. It's amazing that so many are right next to each other.
Thanks for sharing that Spencer. I plan to walk by and see their house at some point in the future too. 😄👍
I just became a member of your patreon great video
Hi Matt, that is so nice of you. Thank you. Unfortunately, I just sent a message to all of my Patreon supporters letting them know that I am closing down my Patreon account. It means the world to me that people are kind enough to support my channel financially, but I’ve decided that going forward that any money my channels make, I would prefer that it comes just from advertising. Not from donations. Thanks again for watching. That’s all of the support I need and more! 😄👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve ok thank you
Gardenias!
Thanks Terry, I had no idea that those were gardenias. 😳😄👍
Henry Mancini lived at 210
Omg, awesome! Thanks for checking that out and letting us now Jamie. 😄👍
I really enjoy these videos Steve! Thanks for taking us along. Beautiful landscaping...might be a silly question but are those Palm trees naturally there? I ve heard in Florida they buy them and have them placed at a high price tag...I see those rows of palm trees in my dreams. Your so lucky to live amongst all that. Perfect weather included
Hi April, thanks for coming along. And thanks for the great question. Other people have asked that over the years too. I will answer it in a future walking video as I’m walking by all the palm trees lol. 😎👍
Hi, Not sure if you knew there is a William Haines exhibit at Sunnylands. At least there was in April when we visited. He did the design work for them.
Hi Joe, that is awesome. Thank you for the heads up. I hadn’t heard and it’s been quite a while since we’ve been there. I’m planning to go back but I think they may be closed for the summer. I will check and see. Thanks 😄👍
210 El Camino Way is the Creator of the Pink Panther Theme music, Peter Gunn, and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Won several Academy Awards, Golden Globes. He lived until the age of 97.
Thanks BF, how awesome! 😎👍
I heard Truman Capote owned a home in Palm Springs. Have you mentioned it and I just missed it?
Hi Tebo, yes, I visited his Palm Springs home just a few weeks ago. Just scroll back a few videos and you can watch it. 😄👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve Thank you I found it I don't know how I missed it I watch them all
Not even a Leaf Blower...
No, just a lawnmower lol! 😳🤣
It seems like a miniature Hoolywood of sorts. Loads of celebrities.
Hi Chad, yes, exactly. It’s often referred to as the playground of the Hollywood stars. Almost all of them lived here or spent time here back in the day. And many of them still do. 😎👍
Great video Steve as always question is there a working class neighborhood in Palm Springs? I’d like to see that one day.
Hi Ettore, thanks for the question. I will answer it in a future video. 😎👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve thanks Steve
I think the only celebs ive ever met is lou ferrigno who played the hulk, but never seen a celeb home in person, and i met barry corbin .
How fun. Thanks for sharing those memories with us John! 😎👍
Leonardo DiCaprio is considered Palm Springs' most famous resident after buying Dinah Shore's former home at 432 Hermosa. Can u verify this Steve? Have u been by or done a video on Dinah Shores former home at 432? Thanks Steve
I don’t know if he’s the most famous, but he’s certainly near the top of the list. 😎👍
That was a huge footprint in the sand. It was either a cougar or a bear. Print
You have a good eye. I completely missed it! 😳
@@theretiredlifewithsteve right as you turn the corner you were talking about Bob Hope and there it was on your left-hand side,
In the other channel you need to do the vlog of the late Richard Sherman he died on Saturday May 25,2024 sometime in morning he did song for Mary Poppin haunted mansion and Jungle Cruise and last he help write the song for the ride at Disneyland it’s a small World and this Tuesday May 28 is the 58 years since the ride was opened
Thanks for the suggestions Celtics. I hadn’t heard that he had died. Didn’t he compose most of the songs with his brother? It seems like I visited his brother’s gravesite years ago at Hillside Memorial in Culver City, unless I’m thinking of someone else.
@@theretiredlifewithsteve yes he composed with his brother the one that died on Saturday May 25,2024 is Richard Morton Sherman his brother is Robert Bernard Sherman that died in 2012
You need to tell us at the end how many miles you have walked, today seems like a lot.
Sometimes I do, but sometimes I forget. Most of these really long walks are only two or 3 miles since I am filming and talking and strolling more than doing a serious walk.
How many people in Palm Springs, recognize you as a CZcamsr, Steve?
Only if you have come up and said hi to me so far. 😄👍
Dude , Didn't Kathy Griffin have a house there back in the late 90s or so?
Atlanta is the same way. Pedestrians and cyclists take their life in their hands on the roads, hwys etc.
Yikes, sorry to hear that. 😩
I take Palm Springs stars neighborhoods over Beverly Hills anytime.
Me too Terry 😎👍
I see someone painted their concrete fencing in support of Ukraine
I have a dumb question. Where do the workers live? The maids, restaurant workers or gardeners? Is there a normal small neighborhood. (I have vintage flamingos in my yard) 😁👍🦩
Hi Tex, not a dumb question at all. I think someone else just recently asked me the same thing. I will answer that question in an upcoming video. And anyone who has pink flamingos in their yard gets a thumbs up from me lol! 😄👍
