- Television reporter and host, Huell Howser died in Palm Springs, California on January 7, 2013 at the age of 67. He was living in his home on Monterey Road in the Sunrise Park neighborhood, at the time.
Today, I walked by his former home and also took a walking tour of his neighborhood.

Huell was such a beautiful soul! Loved watching his show and learning about new places to see.
I agree! 😄👍
I was a huge Huell Howser fan. His back country charm was so out of place in California that you couldn't help but like him. He brought obscure locations, businesses, landmarks, anything to do with California to the average Californians attention. And he did it as if each topic was the 8th wonder of the world. That house you mentioned in Newberry Springs known as the Volcano House was very unique. I'd recommend everyone Google that and get a better perspective into Huell's mind.
Thanks for sharing that and thanks for the suggestion Bill 😄👍
I never named my house but I did name a truck I used to have.. I called it "Elvis". It always shaked, rattled and rolled. 😂
lol that’s hilarious Shiliela! 😂👍
I always enjoyed Huell Howser after discovering him on PBS. He greeted everyone with his wonderful smile and genuine interest. It didn't matter whether it was the property owner or a tourist he was friendly and welcomed all seekers into his video. Living in the SF Bay area it was fun seeing him visit southern & central Calif which I had never visited.
In 2015 I toured his home in 29 Palms on the Desert Landscape Tour. The house was purchased by an artist and she opened it up for weddings and rentals. This was his rural home surrounded by a rusted wall for privacy. It is now an Airbnb. They describe it as: "a rare example of mid-century modern architecture deep in the California desert, the 2,221 square-foot ranch sits on 12 acres of untouched desert near both entrances of Joshua Tree National Park, offering a feeling of total seclusion less than an hour from Palm Springs with 360-degree mountain and desert views." Huell also purchased 80 acres surrounding his home when he was alive to keep his privacy. The sunsets out that way are awesome! The locals loved Huell! Have a great time in San Francisco Steve, and I hope your new phone camera captures all the fun!
Hi ER, thanks for sharing that with us. I will have to see if I can get up there and visit that home one day. 😎👍
Thank you Steve for sharing this beautiful neighborhood. Love watching California's Gold. Huell Howser was a beautiful person😢R.i.P Huell.
Glad you enjoyed it Monika! 😄👍
I loved, Huell Howser. Thank you for showing us around, Steve!
Glad you enjoyed it Roxie!
Never heard of this fellow. But always enjoy your tours. 👍👍
Thanks 1 👍
I remember when Huell Howser went to the top of the wind turbines near Palm Springs. It was an amazing episode, as most of his episodes were. Great tour today. Such a quiet part of town.
Glad you enjoyed it Allen. I miss that episode. I will have to see if I can find it. 😎👍
Worked with him twice. He was the person you see on TV. Very genuine. I appeared on the Lindberg Light episode at the very end for about 2 seconds waving. I removed the asbestos from the lights (two of them) because I was the only person with a permit to do so.
Wow, thanks for sharing this personal memory with us DBC. Such a small world. 😄👍
Oh yes tree trimmer here comes the noise and loved the bunnies and that road runner. Its nice when people.say good morning. Thanks for the tour.
Hi Sally, I miss the old days when everyone said good morning. Now I’m lucky 50% of the people say good morning. I guess that’s better than none though lol! 😂🙃👍
Huell did an episode in Northern California, an area called Redcrest, they had cabins there and we went out to stay. This was a two day journey way past San Francisco.
We made these trips many times, and eventually found a Casino nearby ( Bear River ). Many fun times venturing away from home to far away places in our own state, thank you Huell!!
That’s awesome. Thank you for sharing this with us. W. 😄👍
Steve, you have an amazingly soothing voice to listen to.
Thank you, Jon, that’s very nice of you to say! 😄👍
Debs and I met him when he appeared @ Broguiere's Dairy in Montebello getting on twenty yrs back. (I still have the commemorative milk bottles from then.) We also attended his tribute ceremony held @ Griffith Observatory. Debs loved his TV programs.
Hi Craig, how awesome. Thank you for sharing this personal memory with us. 😄👍
Beautiful capture of the Roadrunner.
Yes, I got lucky! 😄👍
So glad you did this vlog. I have one special memory of Huell Howser. Pres. Nixon's older daughter did a video of the tour of Nixon Library with Huell Howser. He had a speicial showing of that video along with a catered lunch and you hav to make reservations for it. I did. It was either June of 2000 or 2001. After the video, all of us went outside to tables and had a modest lunch (for the price). Huell came around each table and all of us (I was there by myself) asked him if they could get a photo of him with the person and I did. Never forget that. He was very personable and accommodating. It was kind of a dress up event too. I always watched Huell on CA Gold and his KCET shows (which by the way are still running). He certainly was the forerunner for all of you vloggers today. I was surprised when it came out he was gay and I didn't know his ameraman wrote a book and disclosed that. Not surprised he was cremated and ashes dispersed in the ocean. He left all his vlogs and a property to Chapman University. May he rest in peace.
Hi Corgis, thanks so much for sharing this fun personal memory with us. How awesome that you got to meet and take a picture with him. That is awesome. 😄👍
Pretty neighborhood! A lovely walk today.
Glad you enjoyed it, Judith 😎👍
Nobody does it better than you Steve excellent video love from Gettysburg❤❤
Steve and Gettysburg's Garry Adelman our favorite CZcamsrs.
Thank you, Alex. You are always so kind. 😄👍
Love the roadrunners and bunnies. I think there are wild bunnies in most neighborhoods. So cute!
Nice walk, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it Sharon. I almost never see bunnies here in Palm Springs neighborhoods. Maybe they are just very good at hiding lol! 😄👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve They are great hiders!
Never heard of him! Good video always. Have a good weekend Steve!!😀👍
Thanks, Linda and the same to you 😄👍
I was so sad when he died..I loved watching his videos..R.I.P Huell
Me too Ric and also very surprised. 🥲
I have watched Huell for years and always thought he was Gay and one night in Palm Springs at the downtown street fair my X wife and me ran into him, he was with a very young man then I knew he was Gay but we didn't care and my wife talked to him for a few minutes and he was so kind to her, he was a great guy.
Hi Ace, thanks for sharing that fun personal encounter with us! 😄👍
I loved watching Huell Howser on public TV stations. He really got us in depth look at California. Thanks for showing where Huell lived in Palm Springs.
Are you sure did Thomas. 😄👍
Such a lovely tribute to Huell! BTW the apartment where he lived in LA was the El Royale which is on Rossmore Ave. He kept that apartment until his death as well and was a neighbor of mine when I lived on the same street. The El Royale has/had many celebrity residents and when I lived there Billy Zane and Cameron Diaz had units. I used to see Cameron regularly at the Pavilions grocery store at Melrose and Vine and she was always sweet and talkative!
Hi Marrsart, thanks for sharing that behind-the-scenes info with us. So fun to hear. I film that apartment building a few years ago. I love it and I love the history there. 😄👍
Thank you for taking us along on your walk through this neighborhood. Love to see the homes. ✌️👌👍
Thanks for coming along Virginia! 😄👍
Hi Steve...love your walk through the breathtaking neighborhood....stone houses....rock gardens and flowers galore are my favorite scenes....I remember Huell Howser from tv . .he was so charming ....and handsome......have a nice weekend.....take care...... Deborah 🇨🇦..... raining... raining.....here.....🌧️☂️
Hi Deborah, I’m glad you enjoyed it and I hope your rain has finally stopped! 😎👍
Great video. Love Huell. ☮️✌️☮️
Thanks John 😄✌️
Sunrise Park, a new neighborhood to explore. Huell Howser, a new name to discover, I don’t recall seeing him on my local PBS station. Only owned one home in PHX with an enclosed garage, can confirm they are a Hot Box. It’s back to carports for me. Thanks for today’s walk. ❤️ Paul
lol yes I think garage is in the desert. Neither their own air-conditioning lol! 🥵👍
I met Huell Howser once. He visited the college I was attending in the late 80's in Los Angeles. He was every bit as nice in person, as on TV. He had a big smile on his face and I said hello and shook his hand. I told him how much I enjoyed his show. I remember noticing his arm muscles- they were massive!
Thanks for sharing that fun memory with us Annabellem! 😄👍
You did say it was too quiet. Lol. I loved Huell Howser. His show was so wonderful to watch. I know Jordan the Lion bought some things of Huell's off Ebay. I think they were glass milk bottles with his name on them. Thanks for showing us around. You and Jim take care.
How fun. Thanks for sharing that with us Maria. I must’ve missed that episode of Jordan’s. 😄👍
Huell Howser was one of a kind. I loved his shows and the way he related to people.
Thank you for telling his story
Thanks for watching Beth! 😄👍
Awesome neighborhood I love the desert landscaping great walk Steve thank you
Thanks Danette. Glad you enjoyed it! 😎👍
What a great vlog, Steve. I loved seeing the beautiful homes and landscaping. You’re always a delight… so kind and caring. Palm Springs is always so intriguing and almost mystical. I would have loved to have lived there back when all the long gone celebrities did. I’m sure you would have been invited to their parties. Take care, Steve ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it Denise! 😎👍
Huell was from Tennessee and a local TV personality before moving to California. His unusual name is a combination of his parents Harold and Jewell. Great video!!
I didn’t know that about his name. Thanks for sharing that CD. 😄
“That’s Amazing!”, as Huell would say. 💜
Great episode! My mom and dad LOVED Huell Howser! In fact, they got me into watching him, years ago. My husband, loves him and said he was from Tennessee. I checked his Wikipedia page and he’s from Gallatin, TN. He’s from near Nashville. Which, we currently live in Knoxville. Can totally understand why he moved west, especially if he’s part of the LGBT community. Especially, back then (and now….) It’s just not a safe state. Even our middle adult kiddo don’t come home, much. They live in Washington. That’s another reason we will be moving back to PS, in a few years.
His accent always made me giggle. It’s not straight up southern, but he has a lil Cali in his voice, too. Can’t think of a specific episode that was my favorite. Love them all. His type of commentary is sure missed. He was a one of a kind.
Hi Carla, glad to hear that you knew who he was. Thanks for sharing that with us. And yes, it’s scary and sad. How much of Tennessee is so unfriendly to many of us. 🙁
I loved California's Gold, I learned a lot about the state I was born and raised in, but had no idea how rich and "textured" our history is.
Same here, Derek 😄👍
Look at that sunrise!
Steve, I do remember his show. They didn’t show regularly in Houston. I did watch the muscle Beach episode. It was great. 🤠👍
I grew up in Wyoming and always watched cartoons and the one with the Coyote and Roadrunner were one of my favorites When I visited Arizona and saw a real Road runner I was totally surprised how small they were Thanks for a great Video Steve!
Hi J, I grew up with that cartoon too and I thought they would be much larger too lol! 😳😂👍
You walked by a former home where I lived in sunrise park and I also met Huell but not as a neighbor, I met him through a mutual friend. He wasn't exactly like he was on air but that is how it goes. In his case I think he was more comfortable in front of a camera
Hi mrz, what a small world. Thanks for sharing that personal memory with us. And I think you must be right. I read one article that made it sound like he was very much a loner who liked to spend a lot of time by himself just sitting by his pool. 😎👍
He was definitely a sunstar ahead of time! I always watched him shows as a kid. I'll have to check out his old house! So close to my neck of the woods 😮
Those palm trimming men are something else! 🌴🌴🌴
I know, you couldn’t pay me enough money to climb up those palm trees like that guy did! 😳😲
I never heard of him but you gave an interesting walk. ❤
Thanks Susan!
@@theretiredlifewithsteveI'm shocked how many people never heard of Huell Howser. He was known for his weekly travel logs and filmed all over California. I still enjoy watching all the re-runs😊😊
I always want to tell you how special "our walks" are to me at this point in life. I know they must be a lot of work so thank you always...and yes...at least it wasn't a weedwhacker this time!
Thanks William, that’s always really nice to hear. And yes, those weed whackers are the worst lol! 😲😄👍
I’m in AZ🌵 but I’ve watched Huell Howser on CZcams. He seems like he was a really cool person. LOVE the house tour. Mid cen is my favorite. Beautiful. Thanks.
I remember him ! He was great ! He made great shows !! Learned so much from him. It is cool to see where he lived
Glad you enjoyed it Kelly 😎👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve I enjoyed it very much! It’s great see all the houses in Palm Springs too! I absolutely love seeing the different kinds , colors
An AMAZING vlog. It's sad that PBS SoCal no longer has any new local programs like what Huell did, though they still air his shows (also available at Chapman University's website). Trivia: Huell appeared in a Simpsons episode. And his Twentynine Palms house is now called The Wheelhouse (which can be rented).
Thanks for sharing that with us, Michael! 😄👍
Grand Daddy of Vloggers!
Right! Loved his program on KCET..decades of a fatigue condition left me falling behind others and unable to do simple excursions. What a wonderful option this was for me. 🍃🖼️🛣️🦋
Thanks for watching Mercy!
I loved Huel Howser and would watch all of his video logs on PBS.
Our family used to visit Big Bear Lake and just loved his video on it!
Thanks for sharing those memories with us Ingrid. 😄👍
I have not heard of him but will make a point of getting to know him. I loved the roadrunner and bunnies. You know that I have a weakness for the turquoise houses. I also adored the sculpture of the boy reading. I believe it was on a mailbox. I really like this video. Thank you so much!
Thanks Debbie, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😎👍
Enjoyed his show, discovering it sometime after moving to CA in 1989
Hey Steve thank you for sharing with us, I loved it
Glad you enjoyed it Syreeta!
What a beautiful area Steve ! You know I haven’t seen the smoke trees around in years when I was a kid growing up in Iowa they were all over. Ummm ❤ them houses are just amazing to ❤
Hi Jackie, I didn’t know that smoke trees grew with other areas. I was just assume they were a desert tree. Good to know. Thanks for sharing that with us. 😄👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve well I bet ours is a variety that’s good for our zone ! I was going to go to my nursery and ask about them when I’m out that way and also see if they sell them I’m curious now !
I was just thinking about Huell Howser, I had never heard of him until recently when his videos on CZcams were coming up in my feed. Me and my husband just bought a condo about 3 months ago that's a ways down Sunrise by Ramon. I was looking for videos about California and enjoyed his his vlogs that came up. We're only going to be in Palm Springs half the year (back in Austin as of last week) but we are so glad we got the place there! We love going on walks in Prescott preserve and the trails around town in the mountains. I can't wait to get back this fall when it's a little cooler. IDK it's really hot here in Texas also plus it's sticky, but we love it here also. Have you been over to the Prescott preserve on Farrell? It's an awesome place to walk if it's not too hot, the full walk is about 6000 steps I think, and it goes by some cool ponds and also you get a good view of the Shag house on one part of the trail.
Hi VP, I’m not familiar with the Prescott preserve. I will look into that and see if I can walk there. It sounds interesting. Thanks for the heads up. 😎👍
Thanks for sharing this with us Steve, I loved watching his shows, was surprised when heard he was on our team. He might have been live here when you were in Los Angeles> Howser lived in the historic El Royale apartments in Los Angeles, California, in an apartment which had previously been home to character actor William Frawley. I need to watch the FULL video before I google and search and lieave infromation as well you might say it. LOL.
Thanks for sharing TR 😄👍
I'm 60 and have no idea who Huell Howser is. Never even heard his name? Loved the walk Steve. Especially loved seeing the Road Runner bird! Would love to know the color of your front door? I have a sneaking suspicion it may be red. Always so enjoy your calm, peaceful walks. -oxO( ❤ )Oxo-
Hi Austin, thanks for sharing. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. If I share the color of our front door, we may get surprise visitors so I will just have to keep that a secret lol! 😲😆👍
Very nice tour. When I see the houses, I think of how sad it must have been to pack up an old movie stars property to move after death. All the memories they had 🥲. The houses have survived the different owners through the years & have kept their value for sure. 👍☀☀.
I agree Tex, it does seem very bittersweet! 🥲
My first home was called Toad Hall, and the home I live in now in Las Vegas is Casa Nuevo. 😊
Hi Gary, both of those are awesome. Thanks for sharing this with us. 😄👍
You are Huell remind me a great deal of each other. You have a bit more hair than Huell did but other wise two peas in a pod 😂 thanks for the tour Steve.
lol I only wish I had half of his charm and personality and hair! 😂👍
My Mother used to watch California's Gold religiously. I remember her watching it and my stopping once I saw this tall, goodlooing beefy muscular guy on the screen.. I actually met him a decade later when he happened to be filming in Temecula when we were on our way back to San Francisco. Chatted about a minute...nice guy.
Thanks for sharing this fun memory with us do! 😄👍
I wasn’t familiar with him but enjoyed this anyway. 😊
Awesome video. I absolutely enjoyed it 😊
Thanks, Jody that’s really nice to hear! 😄👍
Ahhhh, you walked Sunrise Park! Thank you Steve. I've seen the house (over the years since living there) via street view and when it was up for sale several times (Orchid Tree) and you stopped right in front of it! What are the chances? It doesn't look like it did when I lived there, it's a different color, the carport has now been closed in as an addition to the house (it had a door on it when I lived there but the rear part was open to my back yard @ the walk way and rear fencing/gate). It was the one with the baskets hanging in what used to be my "Poodle tree" aka Olive tree that is no longer shaped. 283. I'm not a fan of the exterior now, took away from the Alexander styling it had, and the rear they removed the curved overhang over the patio tiles at the rear sliders to the pool. 1990, $110K! Now over $1 million. SMH!
Hi kb, what a small world! Thank you for sharing this with us. So interesting to hear the information like this about some of the homes I walked by. And I try not to look back at any of the homes we once owned. Too depressing when you see how much they’ve gone up in value lol! 😳🙃👍
@@theretiredlifewithsteve Tell me, I'd be so rich right now......but after you count the taxes, insurance, upkeep for years it took to be valued more, maybe you didn't lose? But it was just like, wow, you stopped right in front of my past home and commented on that tree...it was funny. Glad you did though!
Yes I would put a place on the home we live in north Texas and have found all of the fixer uppers done by Chip and Joanna Gaines in Waco Tx great story on Mr Houser
How fun! 😄👍
Interesting video of HH. I was a bit annoyed by his emphasis on places visited and saying something like “this is the actual place where it happened”. I was annoyed because was a repetitive habit but it was superfluous because it was obvious. Beautiful clear day there in Springs! As for living on busy streets, I hate it. But after 40 years, I staying put until the end. See ya next time.
Thanks for sharing PL! 😄👍
Just love your walking videos. This is a beautiful neighborhood. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Thanks, Renee, that’s always nice to hear. 😄👍
Never heard of him the neighborhood is pretty
Hi Steve
How are you?
Thank you for the video
I’m good. I hope you are too, Rhonda. 😄👍
Nice vid Steve! 👍🙏
Thanks Gregory. Glad you enjoyed it! 😄👍
Hi Steve! Great video! It amazes me how few people know of Huell Howser. I think you had to be in SoCal to see his shows. Yes, I believe he was closeted and had a relationship with his cameraman that wasn't revealed until after his death.
Hi Corey, his cameraman said that it never bothered him that he was gay. I think his cameraman was married with a family. I didn’t get the impression that they were a couple, but maybe I got that wrong.
@@theretiredlifewithsteveHugh will never be defined for being gay. He was so much more than that. The reason it was not known is that being gay during that time when Hugh became so popular with his filming company is that coming out was not acceptable and could have impacted his career😮😮
On the subject of video logging, Ralph Story preceded Huell Houser. He was very well known with his innovative TV series, Ralph Story's Los Angeles in the 1960's
Yes, I used to love Ralph Story. I even visited graveside a few years ago. Thanks for mentioning him. I forgot about him when I was making this video. 😄👍
Great video Steve
Thanks Martha 👍
I think Huell Houser was just a west coast phenomenon. In particular California. I don't know if anybody elsewhere would've recognized him. But he really made an impact by his personality. I did hear through the grapevine he was gay in the 90's. But I took it as gossip, because Huell looked very masculine to me then.
Another original gay vlogger in NYC was Nelson Sullivan. He's got footage from the late 70's. But his original vlogs started in 1983. He had NYC pride footage, up and coming drag celebrities before they made it big (RuPaul). Up and coming gay bands (The world famous Pop Tarts). He also hung out with the NYC party kids (which were primarily gay club kids). I pretty much binged on all his vlogs. It really opened up a portal to gay life pre-protective gay laws, the pre gentrification of NYC, and Nelson Sullivan documentary on daily life pre smartphones. DISCLAIMER: Nelson Sullivan does die in 1989. He pretty much filed his life for the world to see later. They've been downloaded to CZcams. If there's been any vlogger (now called influencer). That's made a profound impact and following, is Nelson Sullivan. It took a few months to watch most of his videos. But I would definitely recommend them to you. Since I heard you in the past Steve follow other gay vloggers. If you want to find the godfather of vlogger's. Look him up.
Hi Rocky, thank you for reminding me of Nelson Sullivan’s CZcams channel. I did watch some of his videos while back, but I must’ve forgotten to subscribe and I forgot about them. I will have to look them up again. Thanks. 😄👍
Met Huell years ago in front of Rick's Restaurant (now closed) He was really a nice guy!
That’s awesome Stevie! Thanks for sharing that on memory with us! 😄👍
PS is a lot like here in Gilbert, Arizona. The sounds of leaf blowers and trimmers are constant.
Sorry you have to deal with that too k! 😳😲😩
I enjoyed his shows on PBS, nice walk in Sunrise Park
Glad you enjoyed it cath!
Your "distractions" are very entertaining and interesting.
Glad you enjoyed them, Sharon 😎👍
Huell used to say, "you mean to tell me!"
😄👍
I live in Michigan and am 69.
I enjoyed watching Huell. He was sexy I thought
Yes. A very handsome man
❤❤
No sidewalks. Weird to see hope you have a great Sunday.sidewalks kool. I would want people to take pictures. I would feel some what happy to live in a famous home
Me too Leeann! 😎👍
What a fun video Steve I always enjoy looking at the landscaping and houses in Palm springs. I have a question though, the hoses that seemed to be one house two or two separate houses that are connected in between with a large carport what would the interior layout look like? Is it like two different areas of the house that are connected by a carport or do they have each side have its own function? Thanks for a fun video I always enjoy them say hi to Jim and have a great day!!
Hi Connie, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Usually at the house on one side and then the garage on the other side, separated by the courtyard over the years, though sometimes people remodel and do different things with their homes. 👍
The exterior of my house is painted a peachy orange. We call it the Halloween House.
That’s awesome Valerie! 😄👍
He is back ! PBS so cal is running a livestream of all his shows!
Thanks for the heads up, Michael 🇺🇸🎇😄👍
My House is "Sarahs Spa Shangri-La "
Hi Sarah, that is a fun name for a house. Thank you for sharing this with us. 😄👍
yep reason is you're an early bird walker when all the lawn maintenance guys are out (while it's at least a little cool). I lived in Palm Springs and know that the temps are in the triple digits in June/July - haven't looked but my guess would be 112 or 115 there about.
Hi Erica, I haven’t really thought about why the gardeners come out so early, but that does make a lot of sense! I’m not the only one I guess, trying to avoid the sunnier and hotter part of the day! 🥵
Steve how about a video of the Flying Saucer House owned by HUELL HOWSER???
Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into that for the future. 👍
Do you follow Adam, Jordan and Scott? I do, love them they do awesome, you do a awesome job as well,😊
Hi Debbie, I haven’t met Adam, but I have made videos with Scott and with Jordan on my other channel. I agree, they are amazing and what they do. 😄👍
I talked to Huell on the phone once. He was very nice and sent me an autographed photo. It was known in the gay community that he was gay during the 90s. He wanted to know if I had any interesting stories about California but I was so nervous that I blanked.
Thanks for sharing that personal memory with us Vegas! 😄👍
Yes, I knew he was gay. Thanks for sharing..
gosh was that huge ball the sun coming up? or a reflection? I'm going with camera lens reflection it was way too low on the horizon. gotta love a circular driveway!!
I agree, Erica, I love the circular driveways. And that was the sun, but the brightness is pretty magnified by the camera lens. 😳👍
Huell was gay? Holy moly, that's new info to me! He was very cordial and came to our Friends of the Library event where he spoke for an hour and signed autographs for all who attended. He greeted and shook everyone's hand. Wonderful chap 👍🏻
That’s awesome that you got to meet him d! 😄👍
I always surmise that he was gay, I know a few things that I seen on him they said that he never disclosed his orientation, so that made me think he possibly was. It didn’t matter either way to me, whats funny about huell is that I found his shows by accident and then I watched everyone I could find, I had no idea. Lou wrote a book. I want to look that book up. Excellent job Steve on the video! My favorite episode of visiting with Huell was when he went to Sultan Sea if you didn’t see it, check it out. It’sawesome.
Hi Michael, thanks for sharing that with us and I will look for that episode. 😄👍
I was expecting to see a coyote around the road runner
And some TNT!😅🧨
lol I know, right? 😳😆
😂
Hi Steve is your grandparents home in the nearby neighborhood
No, their home was across town on the side of the hill overlooking the city.
@@theretiredlifewithsteve ok beautiful views no doubt the memories you spent there is priceless I was very close to my grandparents growing up in the central San Joaquin Valley
“No wildlife”
There are 57 mammals alone in that area. Jack rabbits being one of them.
Also he wasn’t a vlogger. He was a journalist with his own show & a cameraman. It was a tv program. Not a vlog. He did it to interview / educate like a good journalist does. Vlogging is CZcams era from the perspective of people’s personal day to day lives, typically filmed by the person themselves or the occasional family member/ roommate etc…
Sorry, sounds like you misunderstood me. I thought I said exactly what you just said. He just inspired a lot of vloggers. 👍
I hope his camera man got his permission to disclose that information, if I remember correctly, he and his camera man were friends.
The home I grew up in was pink until I was a teenager and my parents had it painted. I used to read a lot of books that took place in England and all the houses had names and I always wanted to name my house, but I just could not come up with a name I liked but I'm getting old, so I better hurry up and find a name. You know a lot of tree trimmers get killed while working.
Hi Robin, that’s so cool. They used to live in a pink house. And I had no idea that tree tremors had such a dangerous job. As for house names, I feel the same the way that you do. It’s surprisingly difficult to find a good name for your house. we are still searching for the right name for our house too. I’m going to make a video about it in the future. Good luck coming up with the right name for yours. 😄🤞👍
yep knew Hewell was gay - he had a long term relationship with Louie his photographer.
I would put a plaque out
😄👍
Boy,are you late to the party! I knew HH was gay when he was still alive. My gaygar is pretty good.
lol yes, I’m usually the last one to the party! 😂👍
