- My grandson and I recently stayed at Comfort Inn By The Bay In San Francisco, CA, for three nights, in June of 2024. Here's my tour of the room and hotel, along with my review.

I remember a visit to San Francisco when a friend and I made our own “Vertigo” tour. Visited a lot of the locations where Hitchcock filmed. Mission Dolores, Palace of the Legion of Honor, Fort Point, etc… Big Fun! Nice way to see the city. Can't wait to see more! ❤️ Paul

My family visited there during a month-long summer camping trip from Indiana to California round trip in 68 when I was 12…I remember my dad being so anxious to drive down the famous winding Lombard Street…thx for the memories, dad…and Steve!

Hello Steve and Mason! 30 yrs. ago was the last time I visited San Fran. I was 17 years-old then, Now I'm 47. Some of my family members live in Fremont. Great video. Have lots of fun. Most importantly, Stay safe out there.

I always got a good deal traveling home from Mississippi to Kansas through Expedia. Your hotel sounds ideal and I'll try and remember to look into it the next time I travel to SFRAN. Being in the middle of the country its always expensive traveling even by air. I love to drive but that distance would be tiring at my age. Thanks again for sharing and so nice to see you two bonding. I'd wished I'd had someone growing up sensitive to my thoughts and issues. Still, life sent me in a different direction, marriage and divorce, but no regrets being a parent (my daughters still very close and supportive).

had a great breakfast .the stay was around $240
Nice time seeing Graceland & Sun records & places .. was hot tho 🌞

Thanks for sharing that memory with us Sharon. Holiday Inn are nice, but I just can’t bring myself to spend over $200 a night unless it’s a spectacular hotel on a tropical island somewhere lol! 😎⛱️👍

Where I stayed in Virginia with my family for some sightseeing I just loved their continental breakfast. Looks like you guys had a great time.😊

Used to take my kids to SF every year as our Christmas gift, and while "it's been a minute" as my son would say I really miss the city. We would usually stay in south SF by the airport, take the hotel shuttle back-and-forth to the airport, take BART in and have fun. Golden Gate Park is a must, probably my favorite urban park. Glad you and Mason are getting this time together in one of my favorite places.

The Comfort Inn looked like a great choice, clean and offering a simple breakfast early plus it was a great price. Since I lived on the other side of the Bay, I never stayed overnight in SF. Looking forward to seeing more of your trip! Oh yea, parking is always expensive there but having a protected garage was probably worth it!

How funny, yesterday I was just planning my !ate August trip to SF and was looking at a few mote!s on Lombard! I picked that area because of its proximity to the cemetery and bridge walk. I grew up in the bay area so I like to visit once in awhile. I watched a video last night where some guy really bashed the city so glad you posted a pleasant visit, thank you❤
Hi Maxine, this was the first time I visited the San Francisco national cemetery. It was just down the street from our hotel. It was awesome to be able to walk everywhere from our hotel. But because we went so many places, it was nice that we could just hop on the bus or the subway or the cable cars when we wanted to. The metro pass for the day was only five dollars to ride any of the public transportation that you wanted to all day long. A fantastic deal. We had an amazing trip. I hope you do too! 😄👍
Darn parking in San Francisco (remember when Danielle Steel the author was trying to buy her neighbors parking spaces 🥺). The breakfast bars are good for danish & cereal 👍. A nice breakfast sandwich would have been good and quick from the cool bar. Good price for San Francisco 👍👍🤠
That’s the only thing I don’t like about large cities. Parking is always such a hassle. I’m glad I was able to just leave my car in the parking lot for the four days we were there. 👍
I stayed in at a Comfort inn in Philadelphia when I went to visit family and the breakfast they had was the same you had. It was yummy but the elevator was broken and I was on the third floor, had to get one of the employees to carry down my luggage at 1 in the morning to head to airport. Poor guy looked like they woke him up out of bed.

I've stayed at Comfort Inns & Comfort Suites all over the US. Nice, clean, quiet rooms, decent brei, good parking, & best of all, the price is right. You can usually get a decent discount too.

Yes...Skyline was definitely a climb! It actually is pretty similar to most of the hikes that start in my town in Colorodo; with the exception of warmth and lack of shade hehehe. Beautiful views though!!
Our timing is lucky. July is military appreciation month on the gondola. So, we will take my aunt up there tomorrow ; free for me and 25% off for my guests.

On one of our nights, I was exhausted and went to bed early, but Mason walked over to fisherman‘s wharf and sat on that pier watching listening to the seals. What a small world. And when I was a kid, our family drove our station wagon through that redwood! 😄👍

Have you visited the great columbarium in San Francisco? You got a great price on the hotel and you had great weather here (in SF)!
Hi Andy, yes, I visited the columbarium in San Francisco about two years ago I think. I shared that video on this channel. It’s one of my favorite videos and one of my favorite visits. 👍
I stay at the Comfort Inn occasionally to let my niece swim. It is pretty nice. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I've had.

@@theretiredlifewithsteve Almost the same. We do not have to pay for parking at ours. Ours is in a smaller town of about 100,000 people. They just have a parking lot. San Francisco is huge. But the breakfast and rooms are about the same.
The Golden Gate National Cemetery is actually in San Bruno which is near the San Francisco Air Port which is not in San Francisco... I am so confuzed... San Francisco is actually a county and the San Francisco County Jail is in San Mateo County. You are already aware the San Francisco cemeteries have all been moved to the city of Colma. There is still a columbarium and a couple graves at the Presidio and Mission Dolores in San Francisco. I have so much trivial information... I spend much too much time on line.
Hi B, did I say Golden Gate national cemetery? I meant to say the San Francisco Nashville cemetery, which is a few blocks away from the Golden Gate Bridge lol. We stopped there before going home on our final day. I will share that video in the next week or so. I’ve been to all of the cemeteries in Colma and also to the Golden Gate national cemetery in San Bruno, but this is my first trip to the San Francisco national Cemetery. Thanks 👍

lol, oh no! 😲 I thought about you a lot on this trip. I remembered your visit a while back. After seeing your visit to Harvey milk bust at City Hall that was very high on my list. Unfortunately, we were there on the weekend and City Hall was closed. 🙁
