Quiet Lunch got a peek at an exclusive exhibit opening in New York City presented by Dior Beauty. Holton Rower does one type of art, Pouring Paint. Sure, anyone can do that but not on the scale Rower does it.
Many thanks to @ArtofOR, @TheHoleNYC, and The City Frim.

Painting without Painting :) AWESOME!
photographer were so excited 😆 looking lovely
This style of painting takes me back to my hippie days. 😁✌🏻🌸🌼
I think most people commenting don't really understand that although it looks so easy, there's so much more to it! Paints don't tend to sit on top of each other while wet together, they typically blend especially when they have more liquid/flow. You have to know density, velocity among other things when it comes to colors, if they do blend what color they blend to etc. There's so much more that goes into this type of art! They didn't just dump paint in cups and start pouring but it never gives details on that part unfortunately so most people may think that's all it is.
Izzywizzy's Crafting Station : please 😂😂😂
True. This, however is performance art more than a how-to video. Truth is there is way too much paint and no real info given unless we observe the way they pour contrasting colors in early part of demonstration and then hues of one color followed by a contrasting colors and hues in that color, ad finitum.. .. No covering the corners of course! Pure performance art!
also that really doesnt even include his choice of palette...
People working on the floor. Lots of cameras and media attention. A middle aged guy and his young attractive students. Everyone focused on something that seems completely mundane, easy, senseless, messy and colorful.
Must be some fucking good art! I better take a picture.
I wanted to see them pick it up when it was dry
WHY IS THE BRAND OF PAINT HE'S USING A TOTAL FUCKING MYSTERY !!!!!
Amazing love art like this
How do you plan ahead how much paint you would need for such a project? It is an amazing feat of preparation and choreography. Look at :07 how much work he has done ahead of time to ensure the proper color scheme in the palette. He also has to work extremely fast to ensure that the flow is continuous. It looks deceptively easy, but upon examination anyone can see the work and vision that went into this.
Indeed! I tried twice tonight, both epic fails!
FANTASTIC !
love it!!!
That's pretty neat!
I love it!
Omg I just did this on a smaller scale with oil base paint... How cool!
Interesting techniques for fluid abstract painting.
wow learned something new thanks for sharing
Awesome thanks
I LOVE and cant wait to try this! (when I can afford to buy all that paint!) also thanks for showing close up of nail color bottles. I couldn't figure what too use....cheers!
Phyllis Neri a MUCH cheaper way of doing this is by using house paints... which I'm sure that's what he's using
At first you can go to friendly paint store and ask for their old scraps
amazing!!!!!!!!!!
Me encantó!
Thats great
Great use of leftover paint!
Tons of ink :) beautiful results
Amazing
This is so cool! Just watched some videos on pouring acrylic skins and it looks like these people used acrylic paints and liquitex medium for easy flow. Must try...on a slightly smaller scale.
great! great! great! amazing!
Espectacular👏👏👏👏👏
wauuuu super!
degradacion del color y contrastes..
Mega Mix, you'r totally right. People who believe it's easy, would. Try themselves before comments. Pouring paint on the canvas is the easy part of the creation. The hardest work is before. Good luck for trying.. Have a good evening.
how many liter's of acrylic used?
Looks tasty.
sensacional !!!!
I just miss the start on the vudeo. You didn't show how you do the 2 first ring , please, thank you and most important, Do you put additive like floetrol, and Silicone ? Thank you.
me encanto
It's like a mandala...
شوف الابداع لايعرف المستحيل
albert derriennic
Superbes et un très joli graphisme !
Bravo
Very nice
1:51 It would be kool if you did this on glass so you can watch from the bottom too.
Michael Antonio...Looks blurred. It often does look cool.
stunning to look at! though i can only imagine how long it takes to dry lmao
did you use an oil base?
I would love to do this on a canvas covered wood table top, cover with glass and highlight with a glass stand lamp.
Very nice I love it. What kind of paint you used?
which type of paint did you use, and are there any specifics types of paint you would recommend or would any liquidated form of paint be usable to do such a fun project?
Amazing, never seen anything like it!! Questions:
1) To get the perfect circles like that, do you place the little bottles in place like you did in this video?
2) What surface are you using?
3) How much paint is in each cup?
4) Do you have a web site?
Thanks!
fyi: If you use high flow or a fluid pouring medium it will not craze/crack.
Melonie Judd... How many of these pours have you done?
Great
how many gallons of paint was used....what is the size of canvas? : ))) best poured demo ive seen....saw bout 10,
bonito
Please, which sort of painting did you use? gouache, acrilic...? Thanks in advance.
Did you pull the lipstick containers out right away after completing this? or wait a bit?
Why is the final piece dried not shown at the end of the video?????????
beautiful! is it inspired from ebru art?
May i know what you used as a canvas and how big it was? Thank you. I am inspired :)
cool
hey nice! Would do for a Supermarket advertising!
yeah, right.... art???...... thanks anyway..... the kids will love it, to be an artist for the holidays!!! greetings from Holland...
Can u imagine how long all these pour paintings take to dry man wow
My small ones take two or three days to dry. This one will definitely dry in our lifetime, weather and humidity permitting
Taking 6 years to dry =p
Cool
but are industrial glazes? or acrylic colors diluted with some product?
For me, this was like an elaborate set up for a joke without a punchline. Pretty colours, though
bello
Trippy
it takes about a day to dry.
Who is the music by?
The fun with pouring paint is the unexpected, the surprise element that comes at the end. The process for this painting is far too premeditated. It reminds me at the paper with outline already in place given to Kindergarten children who had to color inside them. The child creativity was supress in such exercise.
Without the help of the people passing the cups to him; he alone could have never manage to do such large work.
i would buy something like this. i dont know why people are complaining
Which came first? Pour Paint OR Women's Nail Polish Art?
10/10 new camera man
😍
Well damnit I wanted to see tbe final product. WTF?
no it isnt a waste. it dries then looks awesome
ايه الالوان ده كلها وتنشف فى كام سنه ده
Why does half the video look like it was filmed using the first Nokia with a camera by a hyperactive gradeschooler
que tipo de tela é essa?
WHAY'S THE PAINT ARE GUYS? IS IT ACRYLIC?
Very nice project and very nice video :)
Does someone know that song?
mi abuela lo puede hacer ..........y yo con los ojos bendados :P
so, what is the artist genius doing appart from pouring in the center?
No way my Dior nail polish would be helping to make the pattern !!!!!!!
O.m.g
Well that's 10 minutes out of my lifetime can't get back..🙄
It looks cool, but wow this has got to be expensive.
its no ones fault but your own
Can someone please explain to me where the talent part is? Seven and a half minutes of my life I can't get back lol. Who can't pour paint? I'm lost...
Exurgency by Zoë Keating
so many questions about this kind of art""
could a man lift the canvas after?
her head. ugh lol
who??
lol that girls head moving in in out of the screen.
minute D:?
From min 0 to the very last min hahaha
ARE THESE LATEX PAINTS, LIKE HOUSE PAINT?
Does this mean everyone can do it at their own backyard?
i would've messed it up so easily
Smack the person that keeps getting in the way
it this a performance art???? or it will be just a waste of paint

So basically anyone can be an artist?
Absolutely!
Sweet. I'm gonna paint a picture using dog shit and the placenta of an unwed teenage mother
chris houston sure... you can do that.
but... it's been done.... so passé...... Free it up Man!
"shock art" is fuckin done... over with.... BORING!
Torture n snuff films, placenta, blood feces, enema bag sprayed on canvas, "Piss Christ".... it's ALL been done.
Shit's been a common medium for decades. (animal shit human shit) You'll bore the shit out of the art world Chris. Look up, "Artist's Shit" on Wikipedia: Italian artist Piero Manzoni = created work that consisted of 90 tin cans, filled w feces, each 30 grams & measuring 4.8x6.5 cm It sold at Sotheby's Auction House on October 2008 for £97,250.00.
But always remember.......you can be an ass hole..... or you can be an artist.
YOUR choice. but....... you WILL be seen for what you really are.
que the hatters lol
Cris, everyone is born an artist, theres just people who like to make art, and those who like to wacht, but everyone is truly an artist, and art is the Virus of the system, thats why they kill famous artist who goes against the system, because art is the only way to change the world, ART makes you freee
why?
seriously waste of paint
Wish the camera person was better at showing the bigger picture
What on earth do these people own a paint factory. Whyp lall the cameras.
