it would be cool if the box that they poured paint onto was made of glass. that way they could put a camera under it and get footage of what it looks like on the under side.

A kaleidoscope doesn't need to be considered art for it to be beautiful or fun. This looks both fun and beautiful. I wouldn't buy one as an art piece, but it looks like a lot of fun to make.

And I'm beginning to really appreciate what it takes to mix those paints correctly so that they flow and dry correctly. There might not be particularly hand skills, but there are certainly many skills involved.

The great thing about this is that it really brings art within the reach of ppl who want to try it! I'm a classically trained landscape artist. I've done archival, as well as impressionistic still lifes, florals and landscapes. I wanted to venture into abstract and I LOVE THIS!!! Now I plan to do one and hope to display it in my home. LOVE IT!!!

I am one of the 6K who actually like this. Unlike so many on here I am NOT an art expert. Geez, I never knew so many existed. Just because art is one's career doesn't necessarily mean you are the ultimate authority on what others should like. From the thumbs up vs. Thumbs down stats it looks like more people like it... AS I DO!! Commercials try to persuade people to like their products. Art "experts" try to persuade you to like their views of art. I LIKE THIS. My home has quite a few pieces of eclectic art. It's not everyone's thing. It is mine. It's OK if it's not your thing!! CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

I did this when I was a little kid. Got the idea from the kids spinart device. Then later we did the same thing in 3rd grade art class only on a smaller scale and on small wood blocks of various sizes. I wouldn't have thought they did this outside of elementary school. I was expecting it to go somewhere and get more interesting. I still enjoyed it though, brought me back.

Art is a medium by which you express yourself and invite others to express themselves. If you express yourself with honesty yet your audience's only expression offered is 'That's not art' you have still achieved your goal.

cool technigue, with all the ways out there one can do fluid art ,this took some thinking outside the box and I applaud for such,I am a fellow artist of 30 plus years mainly in oils but have dove into fluid art this past year as it allows me to express myself in a no pressure way as I had a major stroke a year ago and my painting arm/hand is now paralyzed ,and although I have trained my other hand to paint, it has been more of therapy than just pleasure, but fluid art brings just that ,pleasure, fun, I love experimenting with technigues for diff results trying to find my own niche, and seen this it is very expressionistic and again as someone who knows applauds you for creating outside the box.. Art is meant to cause a reaction, a feeling. Many of you are reacting to this. Whether positive or negative, it's causing you to feel something.

I don't get why people thinks it takes talent or skill to create art. art is more than that. there is a big difference between someone who is skillful drawer or painter and an artist. an artist speak to its audience and be able to express their feeling towards them through their art even if what they have done is not something as skillful or technical an art that speaks will always still be better. Art is more than perfect sketches, perfect shading, or perfect shapes. sometimes perfect don't say anything it's just silent. Art uses a lot of symbolism too, it's a story you have to read through it. An art is not something you always expect it to be, art is a form of indivuality. so if yall don't even understand art don't even bother telling someone who's passionately expressing themselves through art say that what they're doing is not art because it is.

I absolutely love the freedom, boldness and fun of this process. However! I think that many young artists nowadays are missing the great quality of contemplation. There are a couple of moments during these processes when the colour scheme is so balanced and visually appealing that they would have left them there if they only had taken a step back to breath, watch and flavor the view. a Zen approach would be ideal with this kind of technique.
