Repairing the damaged seat frame on my 94 bronco

  • The seat started leaning back on me, farther than I was comfortable. I take things apart to investigate and find some damage to the seat frame. I had help welding it back together and she's good as new right now!

    I just bought a 95 F250 and the drivers seat is broken in exactly the same spot.

    I have the exact same problem with my Mustang drivers seat. Talked to several shops, trying to get a repair estimate. They all said this was a common problem with Ford. Poor engineering on Ford's part! Great video. Helped me understand the problem and a fix. Thanks.

    why not weld a support plate to help reinforce the frame, ya dingle?

      Actually considered that but the support plate would have had to go inside the frame and with the MIG welder he had he couldn't get access inside the frame, couldn't mount it on the outside because that's where the tilt mechanism bolted to :)
