Hey Ask Sebby what was the amazon service you use to load your credit cards again? Amazon something?
Sebby, the kind of guy that strategizes more complex and intricate game plans than Oceans 11, while watching Netflix.
Of course, all while watching Netflix
I've learned so much in the last 4 years watching your videos. My credit scored went from 680 to 780, normally hovering around 750. But more important is the lesson of proper credit utilization and maximizing return. I can't thank you enough.
Congrats :) Thanks for the support!
Thanks for the follow-up video. We definitely appreciate the clarification. I did notice that TPG made that change and so with that clarification Ill be grabbing this cc. I was on 0/24 until May when I acquired the FU and then just this past Aug I acquired the NFCU Amex cc both for the bonuses and benefits. I'm currently on 2/24 so I will be looking at picking up A Flex card for the bonus plus the master card phone insurance putting me at the 3/24 category. I have the original CF, which I have had in my arsenal for 5 years now so I'm able to take advantage of this opportunity. After this, I don't plan on grabbing another cc until after I secure a home loan in the next 6 months so Ill enjoy continuing to watch these videos! Have a blessed week Sebby!
What would you recommend for someone who currently only has a CSP? Would you recommend pairing it with the Chase Flex?
Sebby is in my head rent free!!!!! I was just thinking about my Freedom strategy last night. đȘđŸ
đ đ€
Just got Freedom before I watched this video and now I feel proud that I did đ
9:53 Love the outros! Kind of reminds me of the movie theaters where you wait to the end of the credits and thereâs a whole entire scene that unfolds and makes way for the movieâs sequel. Very Easter egg-ish of you, Sebby!
Love the content Sebby! Recently got the CF and at 4/24 atm. Planning on going for the CSR next year and wait until I'm under 5/24 to get the Flex. Don't have FOMO since I have other cards that have the multipliers as the Flex, sans Drug store %.
I want to have to 2 5% cards.
Just got approved for my Freedom card earlier today, still under 5/24 so I'm looking to grab a Flex card down the line to double dip on bonuses
Video idea: Walk a volunteer/subscriber through booking a trip so that they get the best value. Then at the end either recommend booking the trip now or waiting for a better opportunity.
Thanks for the vids Sebby!
Sebby, I have the Unlimited for a few years and the Sapphire Preferred since January.
Should I change the unlimited for the Freedom and then change for the Flex.
But I also want the Chase United Venture. I am moving to Chicago and will travel back and fourth.
Advice please?
Here is my question (that we will not know until the Flex drops), will the Freedom and the Flex will have the same 5% categories. I assume they will but if they have different categories that is different math.
Really nice to have you! Please keep doing more videos!
Thanks for the support :)
Yes, Definitely...!
I'm keeping the og freedom just so I can keep using at Costco. Hopefully they still have a warehouse catagorey some quarter
I set up a calculator where I broke down my annual spend by category and figured out my post-Y1 expected value across potential issuers and new credit cards; it seems that the Chase Trifecta fits my lifestyle best long term (i.e., outside of holding cards from other issuers for one year primarily for the sign-up bonus). I currently have CSP and CF, and figured CFU would be a reasonable next card since Ink cards aren't getting approved, and the CFU otherwise has the same new benefits (5% groceries in the first year, 3% dining and drug stores) as the Flex, with 1.5x back on miscellaneous spend. Does this make sense?
Great content as always đȘđ»
3:09 That's exactly my philosophy as well. Look out for the audience not yourself. đđ»
Hey Sebby,
what card would you recommend for one card users, best overall card for people that just want to maintain one card?
Whenâs a good time to ask for a higher limit after getting a new card?
Thank you! Got approved for the Freedom just in time, got lucky that I heard this news today since I've been meaning to add it to my wallet. Much appreciated.
Very serious question here!!!
How many times did you have to shake your phone to get that 'Yes definitely'?!
An interesting thought regarding the Chase freedom vanilla: As of 2020, you can still product change to the Chase sapphire (no annual fee) card. You just have to request it. It does make me wonder whether those of us that just signed up for the CSP (I did, so not past my 1-year clock for PCing) can PC to the freedom vanilla later, just not the flex.
I got my Freedom card in the early half of August 2018. Does Chase give the freedom sign-up bonus if I apply for another Freedom card since I got that bonus 24 months ago? (I just went from 5/24 to 3/24 a month ago). Appreciate your answer! :)
If i have a credit card from chase and get a second credit card also from chase will the second card be reported to the credit bureau as a new account? And if so how long does it take to appear cause it has been some time thanks
SEBBBYYY GANG GANG GANG đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€ LETS ROLLLLLLLL ...I definitely was thinking about this
Was thinking of getting the OG freedom card before sept 14th for a few reasons. 1. I want the 5% grocery offer for year (thinking about cancelling the amex gold), 2. Itâs a Visa card which means I can use it at Costco in case warehouse stores or gas is a bonus category, 3. I will get the 3x restaurants/drugstores, 5x Chase portal anyway when my existing CFU changes to the new version
Glad its been updated that you can get both the freedom bonus and the flex bonus. I hurried up and signed up for the freedom card and when I am no longer at 5/24 I am going to get the flex card.
So let me see if I understand correctly. If I have the CF and the Unlimited and the CSP. Once the CFF comes put i can apply for that without having to product change any of my existing cards? And still receive the intro bonus from the CFF?
Of course assuming I'm still under 5/24. (Which I believe I am) if so then this seems very good
I already have a Freedom but Iâm considering product changing my Sapphire Preferred to a second Freedom. Do you remember if I can do that if the Sapphire Preferred is still in its first year?
Also....watched until the end!
đ„đš
Hi Sebby, thanks so much for the video! Iâm just wondering if I have 2 slots left for 5/24, would it make more sense to apply for CSP+freedom/flex because CSP has a higher opening bonus? Thanks!
That's exactly what I would do. You can upgrade CSP to CSR in Year 2 when travel is back to normal.
If you want to talk strategy on ordering: www.asksebby.com/free-card-consultation
This is a good video I was wondering what my game plan should be
Hopefully it helps! :)
I currently have a CF, CFU, and CSP. It sounds like I should upgrade my CF to the CFF, right?
If I do this, I will still be able to downgrade my CSP to the CF in the future, correct?
Question I have the freedom unlimited through my spouses credit because mine at the time was sub par 700 but now itâs about 803 and 811 credit karma. Would I be eligible to apply for this card on my own?
Thank you. Enjoy your videos.
If i am looking to start my chase trifecta, what card should i go with? the flex or unlimited?
I currently have the Freedom Card.
I want both the Flex & Unlimited cards. Can I get both of their sign up bonuses within 6 months ?
I applied for the Freedom over the weekend(last day 09/12) and was approved with $500 credit limit. Planning on getting all the Freedom Cards eventually.
Thank you for your videos. I always tell people about your channel. I appreciate how you want to save others money, even when it doesn't benefit your pocket book. Btw... don't smash your phone. Thanks again.
Is love to see a prediction video on what the possible plans are for the sapphire cards. .. just an idea
Im at 4/24 and I'm likely going to keep my freedom and then apply for the flex later down the road.
Hang onto' that grandfather'd opportunity
Loved the slightly bizarre outro haha. Thanks for the video! Just called to product change my Freedom Student to a regular Freedom because of it.
Exactly what I was looking for đ. Applied for and got approved for freedom a few days before the flex đ
So for someone collecting chase points but already received the freedom, freedom unltd, sapphire preferred (downgraded to sapphire free) and sapphire reserve; this is a good option for a signup bonus with chase points. Interesting question will be what happens to the 5x categories on the regular freedom come October: will the freedom just not have anything? Will it share the same categories as the flex? Who knows.
If I product change from the Chase Freedom OG to the Freedom Flex, can I still get the Flex's sign up bonus? If not, would it be better to just keep my Freedom and get the Flex (At 4/24 right now but will re-set in January to 2/24 if I do nothing until then)?
In the future, if I get the CSR, will my only exit option be to product change to the CFU since the Freedom Flex doesn't allow other product changes? I already have a CFU.
PS: please don't break your phone! We do watch until the end because we love your videos, Sebby!
Off topic, but is the Slate card being discontinued?
So I canât produce change from the Freedom Unlimited to the Flex?
Hi Sebby and Yt. Question here. Recently 2-3 months ago my wife got approved for the Freedom Unlimitted and added me as an authorized user, so this card reflects in my credit report now...My question is; can I still apply for this card? Or will chase reject me ? My credit is in the 800s and I currently have with them the Chase Slate, Freedom and Ink. Business and I havenât applied to any other cards in the last 2 years. Thanks!
1st and foremost killer job as always with the videos!!! My question is I just got CFU start of August, plan to do the trifecta. What should be my next move? Apply for freedom to keep since it will be lost or get flex? And will wait later till to get one of the sapphires. Is 30 days to early to apply for another chase card? Not in 5/24 rule.
Get the freedom first. You'll still be eligible for the freedom flex sign on bonus. Should probably wait at least a couple of months before applying for another card.
bold strategy of you Sebby to think we're logical!
So if I currently have the freedom, unlimited, and CSR, what is my best move? Watched the video but didnât see this scenario (I may have missed it).
please make the creative outros a thing! amazing lol
I'm debating it; makes the videos a bit more interesting for me to film :)
Can I claim each of the signup bonuses for the Freedom Unlimited and the Flex or should I apply for the regular Freedom and the Flex for the double sign up bonus? I currently only have a CSP.
Great video!
Im in situation #4: im 4/24 & only have the freedom. I think im going to apply for flex. If approved, then pc my freedom to csp. If denied then pc my freedom to flex.
Welp, I got instantly approved for the CFU a few days before the annoucement of the CFF, so I don't think I can get the CF. I'm also still within the first year of the CSP, so can't PC that. In my case, I don't think there's a way to get the CF. because I got the CFU so recently. Thoughts on that?
I do wonder for the CSP/CSR, if you can't downgrade to the CFF, could you downgrade to the CF? The no AF Sapphire stopped being available to the public, but you could still downgrade the CSP/CSR to it.
Although I'm running an Amex trifecta, the Freedom Flex + Freedom Unlimited + CSR is a great 3 card setup.
I don't see it, they are essentially the same. Yes CSR has good travel perks but Chase essentially made this a solofecta until they update the Sapphires. I'm not complaining, I bit with the Freedom Unlimited and cancelled my Gold for a year but that single Chase card got me covered for all my non-AmEx spend. I also hate rotating categories. I got my Citi Dividend with its special perk if I ever feel like using it.
@@rene.s.s With Freedom Flex, you get the rotating 5% categories and 3% for drug stores. You can use the 3% at drug stores to get grocery stores gift cards or Amazon gift cards for Amazon fresh. Once converted to UR points that 3% turns to 6% cashback without an annual fee.
@@akin242002 All of those things work with my single CFU...
Thank you Sebby! Your videos are always so helpful!!
Iâm in Situation 1 but I already have a Freedom and an Unlimited. Over the year Iâve had both cards, Iâve never seen the need for multiple 5x cards but the strategy Iâm considering now (since these are all no AF cards) is whether to PC my Unlimited to a Freedom now and PC my existing Freedom to a Flex when it releases.
Otherwise, I guess I could just garden and wait until I fall off 5/24 in January too to apply and get the bonus for the Flex. But then that would use up a slot I couldâve used for the Hyatt card or SW Priority.
Dilemma dilemma...
I think it depends on your future spend. I'm basically in "de-risk and future proof" mode. Maybe your spending (and card setup) changes dramatically in 5-10 years.
I'm biased towards the Hyatt because it scales really well (works for super economy roadtrips and also "YOLO" stuff).
If you want to talk strategy / travel goals: www.asksebby.com/free-card-consultation
Ask Sebby Thanks Sebby! My spend has definitely declined a lot compared with last year. Going to use those taxes for MSR now..
So I already have the freedom and when this releases I can apply for it and have both?
Hey Sebby, I have a question about the bonus. If I got the welcome bonus for Chase Freedom UNLIMITED this past year, do I need to wait 24 mo. to get the welcome bonus for the Freedom FLEX? I don't understand that 24-month new cardmember bonus clause.
What do you think sebby? I have the trifecta CSR, CFU and Freedom right now. I am way over 5/24. You think I should product change my CFU to a freedom? I can always get a new CFU later and maybe product change one of my 2 freedoms to a flex right? Thanks for the video!
It depends on if you have a 2% card for noncategory spend. If you don't, I would assume that you are putting it on CFU for 1.5%. If that is the case, would you make more for the extra half percent on the CFU for noncategory spend or the extra 3.5% on a 2nd 5% card? If you aren't maxing out the 5% category every quarter on CF plus having extra spend in that category, then it doesn't make sense to use a slot for a 2nd 5% card.
FWIW I was 4/24 and applied for the Freedom yesterday, didn't have a 5% grocery card so grabbing for that and the SUB before it goes away. It locks me out of the CSR/CSP/Flex for probably 15 months but I don't travel so I don't see a downside. Potentially adding the Flex in the future if the rotating categories appeal to me so that I can double dip on them with the OG Freedom, or adding the CSR/CSP if the "pay yourself" functionality still exists at that point and I have enough banked points to offset the first annual fee.
Downgraded my CSR to a regular useless Sapphire, given that I can't change it to a flex is it possible to change it to a standard freedom then to my existing freedom to a flex (since you cant do multiple product changes on a single card in something like a year)?
I only have 2 credit cards, none of them through Chase. Should I apply for the Freedom Unlimited or the Freedom Flex card coming out soon? I'm looking for a card with the best overall rewards and cash back to further built my credit. Credit score is about 720 right now.
MIND READER SEBBY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the video
đ€
I plan to product change from the original freedom to the flex
love the outro music
Iâm at 1/24 got the CSP in July. I think Iâll get the freedom then the flex later on maybe next year see how it plays out.
I have a freedom card and have not heard anything about this flex card. I guess I should call them to see if they switched me over. Will they run my credit again?
I went for the CFU before it was announced and now it's too late for me to try and apply for the normal CF :( should I try to go for it anyway?
Will freedom og still get the 5% on restaurants? I assume that food will not be a 5% category with the flex since they give 3% year round?
Hard to know, but seems less likely that restaurants would be a rotating category in the future. I sure assume they will make the Flex and the Freedom Original rotating categories identical.
It seems like it would be in their best interest to keep the 5% restaurant category since restaurants need all the business they can get right now.
Does the flex card have a 0% interest for 12 months intro period?
If I product change to the flex, do I get the intro bonus? Or do I have to apply for the flex as a new card.
You have to apply Flex to get intro bonus.
Will the 5% rotating calendar be the same for the normal freedom and flex ?
Can I call and request a product Change right now? I got the original Freedom back in April
I have freedom, unlimited, free Saffire(by request). Currently, I have a lot of inquires on my credit report so Iâm going to wait until next year when 2 will drop off before applying. I have a lot of UR points so whatever sign up bonus Iâll live with. Iâm keeping the OG freedom so Iâll have a make shift quadfecta with og freedom, unlimited, free saffire, and later the flex.
Definitely going to apply for the flex and keep my freedom card in my back pocket just in case. I think it really helps since now i'l have a CHASE QUADFECTA :P
Any reason to get the CFU now if I don't have it?
I`m going to wait for the new flex card,
How does the Unlimited fit into all this? I just applied for it.
âI can stop at any time *sips coffee*â đ
If I have the csp and freedom already, can I get bonus for the flex AND the unlimited !!?
good info
I have 2 slots left and currently running the trifecta so I think Iâm going to apply for the Flex separately to get the bonus and potentially add the United Card to round out the 5/24. Still unsure about the United Card though.
I think United is a perfectly fine pick. Hyatt, IHG Premier, Bonvoy Boundless, British Airways, Iberia are also worth considering depending on your game plan :)
If you want to talk strategy (i.e., travel goals): www.asksebby.com/free-card-consultation
@@AskSebby what's a good airline card to run with my chase trifecta?
I was considering a Chase card to diversity my credit. I currently have two MC and one AMEX and I want a Visa. I would also benefit from the point of the freedom. I think I made up my mind.
I only have the Freedom and CSR currently. Iâll probably get Flex separately (not PC) because I do a lot of my gas fills at Costco and Costco doesnât take MC anyway. Hope they make some major changes to CSR because the flex looks pretty good with its multipliers.
In my video, I said that it WAS possible to get all the bonuses, and having made it first makes me feel all grown up now. lol. Good video Sebbie
So I currently have Freedom Unlimited and Freedom.
From my understanding my best option would be to get another Freedom Flex card for the bonus.
Try to possibly move my freedom to another Chase Card after I have the flex.
Already have the Freedom, Unlimited, and CSR....time to rock the QUADfecta and add the Flex đȘđŒ
No CIC?
After 3 years, I think I am going to have to product change my CSP into Freedom, ASAP. I still have I still have over 40k in UR points though and could transfer to my CFU because I can't seem to move them to my Chase Ink Preferred. Is Sapphire going to be seriously limited? This summer was the 4-year Anniversary of the Sapphire products. So torn.
Chase Sapphire Preferred with 80,000 SUB Vs Chase Freedom Flex which card would you suggest for applying?
So I have the Freedom and Unlimited. Also at 5/24 until next year. I am leaning on keeping my Freedon card and seeing how this plays out. My Unlimited will have all of the new changes next week. Holding on for the unknown, the stuff the magic eight ball won't tell us.
Now the question is do I use my last 5/24 for the Hyatt card. The new flex card or wait until chase starts approving business cards again
How long before you get to 4/24 again? If it's a LONG time, I'd wait for business cards.
If 3-6 months, I like the Hyatt? Depends on your travel goals obviously :) If you want to talk strategy: www.asksebby.com/free-card-consultation
so if i change from the freedom to the flex then i'll get the flex bonus??
So wait i just got the chase freedom and i am almost done getting the bonus. So does this mean for the flex i have to apply for it to try to get the bonus again? Or can i just upgrade my freedom to flex and still be eligible for the new bonus?
Do I qualify for the $200 sign up bonus if I product change my freedom to flex?
WWSD ( What Would Sebby Do!?)
After 2 years & 9 months of returning to the credit world, I've acheived a FICO of almost 770, Vantage 3.0 over 750. Given my relatively short history with only 2 cards since Oct.2018 (Venture upgraded from platinum and AMEX Delta Gold), my preference for rewards towards travel, and having no Chase cards yet,
what's the best choice for my upcoming application(s?) CFlex, CFU, and/or CSP?
WWSD? Inquiring "mind" wants to know.
So get the freedom first and then the flex? I currently don't have any chase cards except the Amazon one. I believe I've only opened 2 cards these past two years as well. Also how long do I have to wait to open another credit card account with chase? đ€
I would since I value 5% cards. Your call obviously :) If you want to talk strategy post Freedom: www.asksebby.com/free-card-consultation
Have CF, CFU, CSR, CIC, and IHG card. Currently 3/24 with Chase, keeping the CF to have two 5x cards, will get the CFF next week, cuz 5x grocery, 20k points plus 15 months 0% interest...... I mean who doesn't like a free loan~ Would love to see what they do with CSR in the future tho, gonna be interesting.
Sounds like a good plan. Hopefully CSR revamp AND it counts as a new product :)
If you want to talk shop on the travel card: www.asksebby.com/free-card-consultation
Omg they should ditch the CSR and introduce the game changing Chase Sapphire Flex
Goog guy Sebby
I'm 4/24. Current Chase cards: Freedom, CSP, CIP, CIC, Hyatt. Looking to get IHG for the bonus + free night in November. Will fall back to 4/24 next June, so I'll pick up the CFU/Flex in July. Then I fall back to 4/24 again next December, so I'll pick up the one I skipped out on in July. Prior to the announcement of the Flex, I had planned to get the IHG Traveler card next year (with the intention to upgrade it to the Premier for another free night). With the addition of the Flex, I rather get that and CFU since I value UR points more than IHG points.
That sounds like a solid plan :)
