5/24 day.... nice touch
🤓
I missed that for a second. Clever.
What’s 5/24 day?
@@SamuelReyes-ub2nc Chase has a guideline where you can only be approved for a credit card if you have had less than 5 new credit card applications within the last 24 months. Hence the phrase "5/24". Sebby uploaded this video on May 24th, 5/24. So 5/24 day is the day that people tend to talk about their Chase Cards. Hopefully this helped.
I used my Marriott night in Munich and got a $330 hotel for $95. Solid!
"19. Amazon Rewards" *heads to dislike button*
"Before you hit the dislike button, this is NOT the Amazon Prime card" *stops myself*
Whew! That was close 😂
Hit the dislike button.. just because. I did not or could not stop myself.
I think we define "perks" differently. For the CSP, you have great travel protection and transfer partners.
More like this, please. Very cool rundown.
Your channel (and others) have helped me fall in love with the CC game. Y’all are the realest.
Thanks Sunshine :)
Like the ranking videos! Would love to see more for other groups of cards (Amex, early game, Travel, etc).. especially in a 'tier list' format 😉
Yay for Hyatt. I got the WOH card earlier this year when the sign up bonus was higher. I highly recommend especially with their expanding footprint this year. It's a keeper card for sure..
This is one of my favorite videos you've done in a while. How would you rank the Ink Preferred against the Sapphire Preferred?
As someone currently at 4/24, this is very much appreciated!
Awesome video Sebastian! I was so happy to see you get a shout out in Graham Stephan’s latest video. 👏
You have no idea how much your videos have helped me. Thanks a million.
The first time I watched your videos, I didn't know what you were saying. Now I understand. Thanks!
I like these kinds of videos, please continue to do more of them!
Wow! Great video. Hoping for more upcoming videos 😊
Ummm I didn’t want this to end. Would love to see this with Amex🎷
Wow Sebby ... I did a similar ranking scale but I integrated several cards from the business side of my analysis. I can say we're spot-on except for the CSR ... I have both CSP cards on my list. But you have given me something to thing about. Bravo young man well done. 👏
Really like these videos! Helps to figure out what’s the best for each company. I’d like to see/hear your thoughts on American Express.
1. Platinum
2. Gold
3. Hilton Aspire
Gold
Platinum Schwab
Blue Biz Plus
Bonvoy Biz
Delta Platinum
You should do one with Amex
I was gonna suggest the same exact thing.
Definitely love this style of video...not many 15 minute videos hold my attention, but this one had me on the edge of my seat for the duration! I would be stoked if you replicated this model with Amex in the near future.
I got my first credit card last week and will probably end up with about 💰$200💰 cash back easily this month 🔥... I love credit cards now ❤ hahahaha... It's time to wait and get to the top credit cards available in the future!!
Happy 5/24 day fellow credit card nerds
If you opened a Chase card this month, you’d have an expiration date of 5/24. 😊
You should do something similar for AMEX
Awesome video, lots of super good information! A video just like this for ALL the Bank business cards would be awesome, and of course an American Express version would be super useful! Girlfriend and I are very much in the early game, so this year I’ve gotten the CSP, she got the Chase FU, the Ink Cash and she’s gonna get the CSP here in a few weeks! Aside from the Ink cards, I definitely think I want the Hyatt Card as my next personal, and maybe a Southwest one after. Thanks again Sebby!
I would love an updated version of this in 2022!!!
Love this! Could you do something similar for Amex?
First, great video! Love these kind of videos. Second I think a video of the top 30 cards from all companies would be cool. Also maybe a guide on which cards to get in which order. I saw another CZcamsr do something similar where he went with what card you should get first and then kept going. Obviously chase cards were first.
Great video. Can you do this for, Chase business cards, Amex personal, And Amex business too?
Always a thumbs up👍. Can you do a video ranking the Amex lineup of cards also???
You and this are AWESOME!!!
Sebastian, I think this was a great video. Could you (if you haven't done so already) do one for American Express credit cards?
Great content
Very nice video. I have the United explorer card but I'm looking to change because I feel they have too many restrictions on mile usage and I fly United less these days.
Loved the video. Haven't heard of the Hyatt Card ranked 2nd, so it was good to hear a little about it; will definitely research it now. The Chase Unlimited had been my good to right now ONLY because of the 3% promotion they had recently. Then I transfer points to my CSP card for better UR usage. I'd rank it a tad higher for the first year with its current promo.
@asksebby Great video. I'm looking to get into the Chase CC ecosystem and this video helps. For the 1st Chase card, I'm debating b/w the Freedom vs. the CSP, then upgrade to CSR. What are your thoughts?
Awesome infos thanks!!
Do you know sebby
If I can get the chase business credit card, if I'm NOT an American resident and citizen with a business bank account overseas?
Thanks, very helpful
Very useful video 👍🏻
Please do a video on the best "Platinum & Gold duo". Amex Platinum & Amex Gold vs. US Bank Altitude Reserve & US Bank Flex Perks Gold.
When speaking about the Freedom card @10:45 you say 5% back could really mean 10% or 7.5% back. I'm new to this but I'm assuming you mean you can potentially get more by transferring your points to your CSP/CSR and redeeming through the UR transfer partners?
In the future, can you make an updated version of this ranking?
Great information regarding Chase cards
Grt video...could you do this for American Express and CITI?
Yeah I agree with the Starbucks card, I always think it's pointless since I do not go to starbucks often and IMO they do not have the best coffee. I usually go there if it is the only option. Plus those Star rewards are not much, you can only redeem them for drinks and stuff and its alot of stars to get them redeem too.
hey Sebby, I was wondering if you kept your "SPG" now Marriott Bonvoy card? I am still a bit confused as whether I should keep it or not. There is a $95 fee, however I think it now comes with a yearly free night award. The switch definitely made if more confusing, and I would appreciate some more guidance.
Good video. I like the rankings
I just got the slate. I did the no interest in 15 months. It's savings was really good for me. I paid off my credit one and closed it. Plus my cap 1 that never reported. And a green dot secured that I have had for over 2 years. So slate worked for me. The rep said I can upgrade to freedom in 6 months or just get it as additional card from them. My scores are good. I just wanted to get out of debt soon.
I don't want to be paying credit card bills when I am 80 on social security. Thanks sebby. Love your videos 😍.
Took your survey
But here’s my list.
CSR
Freedom
SW Priority
United Explorer
Chose SWA and United as they have a heavy presence where I live. Had the Freedom for a very long time. CSR is where I build my points. As for a hotel card, I use the Amex Aspire.
I like the vacuum at 7:37 LOL
Great video I love rankings
Nice fun video. We all have our favorites. These cards become hobbies as much as they are tools to better rewards. It's nice to see your ranking on them. Do Amex next!
Sebby, can you clarify the no perks on the Chase Sapphire Preferred? I was under the impression the insurances, and coverage of this card was comparable to the Reserve!
Cool video. Where would my Ritz rank in your list?
Would love to see videos like this on all credit cards for other banks. Such as Barclays, Amex, Citi, etc
The Disney points only apply to Disney, something I didn't notice when I signed up for it.
This morning, I read on reddit "Mr Dimon, tear down this wall!" (referring to 5/24)
Seriously, lol.
Great video. Can you do this for the Chase biz cards also?
2/1 Ink Preferred Great bonus...good multipliers depending on spend... Transfer Partners... good downgrade path
2/1. Ink Cash Good bonus... good multipliers....no AF
3. Ink unlimited Good bonus...Same as freedom unlimited...no AF
4. Southwest Good bonus...alright multipliers...no downgrade / PC
5. United good bonus...meh multipliers... no downgrade / PC
Preferred
Unlimited
Cash
United
Southwest
Sebby,
I originally had the CSR. After year 1, I downgraded it to the freedom unlimited because I was not anticipating traveling in year 2. I am now rarely using my freedom unlimited card because I am busy hitting other minimum spend. I am planning on traveling a few times in the next year, would it make sense to product change back to CSR?
Pro's/Con's to product changing the same account multiple times?
Thanks!
I would like more videos like this.
Chase trifecta plus the WOH card makes by far the most sense for me. I transfer all my points to Hyatt and seem to average 2c/point with basically zero hassle.
Would love to see this video again this year. I was super happy to get the IHG premier card but with the recent point devaluation.... it’s just sad. I haven’t even gotten the chance to have fun with the card.
Agree that it generally sucks but still should cover at least a vacation :)
I’m super new to CC’s and it’s like watching videos on learning a foreign language. I feel like I need to start at the introductory level and work my way up. Should I watch random videos and they will start to make sense or is there an order I need to follow? Sorry to sound so ignorant but I truly want to do this the correct way. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Would love to see an update to this
Would it be possible to do a current top ten list of credit cards with this type of ranking?I liked the layout.i think that a top ten list of cards with their benefits&weaknesses would be great info. There are so many cards.Who's the real king?(p.s...I just read a review saying that balance transfer is an option,[promotion depending on credit worthiness], with Chase cards. Meaning not a standard function in every card issued like American Express. Is that true? )
I was really confused about the Amazon Card, its a good thing you explained it wasn't the Prime card, I didn't even know they had another card.
Giving a like for the 3 hours or more u put into that excel sheet
Thanks for the video, do you know if someone has two LLC, would you be able to get one ink unlimited or cash for each llc?
Hey Seby maybe a updated version of this video for 2021/2022
Your best video yet!
Hey Sebby, how are you? I thought it would be good if you make a video about chase recent high activity shutting down a lot of accounts, mostly for having too many inquiries. I think it would be very helpful for many of us. Thank you
Can you please post the 40 minute video that you made!
Hey sebby, whats a good trifecta without paying a yearly payment?????
One thing you should probably mention is that for a lot of these csrds ( travel ones for example) you need to have great credit and a long history of credit. The sapphire preffered and Reserved can't be obtained by people(most I should say) that have started building credit for a couple years or just started building
@seb what credit card has the highest starting credit limit? I heard Sapphire does on the opening credit limit offer.
if I have the Southwest plus do I have to wait one year to upgrade to a priority card (I live near a hub - BWI)
Can you do a updated one .. Im applying for my first chase card in November. Is this order still the same ?
Do you really need the Bonvoy if you already get status with the Amex Platinum
Thank you!
Hi Sebby, I was reading on million mile
secrets about a datapoint for the British Airways card where when calling to cancel, the cardholder was offered an option to downgrade to a no annual fee version of the card. If this is true, would this affect how you would rate that card?
Amazing video. Im from South Africa and are have no choice of creditcards but love your videos as i am obsessed with points and miles.Wished sumone could share their elite status for hotels in exchange for free safaris in south africa
I had a Chase card (can't remember the name) since 1996. It was kept going because I had an annual autopay from it for a credit monitoring agency. Then I discontinued that sometime in the early/mid 2010's. Later, the card morphed into the Slate card. When I continued to ignore the card, the company eventually closed it in 2017.
Please do an UPDATE for
May 2021
Pleaseeeee 🏆
I agree with the CSR!!
Is it possible to product change from a Disney card to the Freedom Flex or Freedom Unlimited?
A new promotion for the Chase Freedom Unlimited is 3x on everything in your first year, instead of the usual $150 after $500 spend. I think this promotion should definitely bump this up higher in the list. I am going to apply for the card on June 1st when I’m under 5/24.
bonvoy boundless should be downgradable to bold (no annual fee) now?
@askSebby do you have a video of "keeper cards"?
I've been watching you videos for a while just letting you know graham stephan gave you a plug on his channel
5/24 rule blows
I had 8 new accounts open in less than 24 months and applied for the freedom unlimited and got approved. A week later i applied for sapphire preferred and got approved again. Idk what's going on but i like how it is going.
So glad you did this .
Can someone explain the waiver system the United Explorer card? I was kinda confused at that bit haha
For the united explore card what waiver system is there ?
Should I try to get the United Explore Card or a Chase Card in the future?
This is a great video that needs an update. Does united still have an out? I think IHG has a zero annual fee now. I’m trying to figure out my last spots after CFU, CSR, CIP. I know I’m getting Hyatt but don’t know what to do with the other spots
Yes, United still has the no-AF card and the TravelBank. Just because you can't apply for them doesn't mean that they're not available via product change (i.e., Chase Ritz-Carlton).
If you want to talk strategy: www.asksebby.com/free-card-consultation
Chase Sapphire reserve, undoubtably the premium card on the market today!
Question kind of off topic. I have a player 2. And she has CSR and I have a venture. After we buy our first house in a couple months we will start getting as many sign up bonuses as possible. Is it best to each get each of the chase cards or only one of each card between us. So I’d have CSP and she has CSR etc. or maybe we get opposite cards then refer her to the cards I have and she refers me to her cards?
You should each get your own Chase cards to maximize bonuses. Don't add each other as authorized users.
Love the 5/24 synergy! From a purely cash back perspective, my top five are a bit different...but no doubt about it...I should have gotten the IHG Premier and World of Hyatt cards before I hit 5/24. It's going to be a long gardening session for me, but I'll get there.
Geography and personal habits really can alter rankings of the top cards. Southwest doesn't fly out of our city so that card is of zero value. When we fly, our layovers are short so lounge access is rarely needed and our home airport doesn't have any, so the CSR is less valuable and I personally value an airline card higher to get free baggage. Having said that after a year I will consider upgrading my CSP to CSR to get the higher multipliers and the 1.5% boost. Great video - yes I would like to see more like this.
Can you talk more about the United Explorer Card Waiver system for cheaper flights? I didn't really understand that part.
You can get a PDQ waiver if you spend more than 25k in a year on the card making it easier to get elite status. I think he meant to say that you need to spend less actually flying in order to secure status.
