Pen ASMR - Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen

- Relax as take a look at a brand new Platinum Plaisir fountain pen and ink up my trusty not-so-new Plaisir. Please enjoy whatever ASMR aspects there may be from this video. Headphones are always best for listening to ASMR videos.

When cleaning fountain pens, thoroughly rinse and dry the pieces of the pen to avoid soap bubbles in your ink.

As a fountain pen collector-user, this was extremely satisfying ! I own several Platinum scribes, & would agree with your assessment of the writing instrument, used. The only 'horror' were the soap suds - but I had to laugh, too - for we've all made such errors; I knoiw to stick with clean water only (now); sure, & it's all part of the fun in owning a fountain pen 😉

These are still available, I got one for about $20. I switched a nib section with Preppy .2 so now I have really unexpensive pen with UEF nib and durable alluminum body. Amazing!

Keep the converter and grip section submerged overnight (8 to 10 hours), then pump it in and out with air and finally a few more hours to let it dry completely to use.

Don't clean pens with soap. Clean them with distilled water with a little Windex mixed in, then flush with more distilled water. If the ink has stained the inside of the pen and the Windex mixture doesn't clean it out, switch to distilled water with a spoonful of little liquid bleach, then flush with more distilled water. Cleaning the converter is a pretty obvious procedure, but the nib and feed are best cleaned using a small plastic syringe with a bit of silicone tubing stuck on the end. You can press the tubing onto the attachment point for the ink cartridge, and you can flush a lot more water through the nib and feed using the syringe than you could if you used the converter to draw in water instead.

That Platinum cartridge looks very similar to a Lamy cartridge. You might want to compare the two to see if they're compatible.

I got into fountain pens because of your older Platinum Plaisir videos.
My Plaisir didn't have the color on the clip and nib, though. They were both just silver (green Plaisir).
Do you have any idea why? I thought they had just stopped selling them with colored nibs and clips, but it seems they went back? Or did you find some old stock somewhere?
KOB You mean they updated it to have the colored clip stripe and nib again? Because that would be fantastic!
My Plaisir was my first fountain pen, and I still enjoy writing with it, although the TWSBI Eco has become my favorite.

I inherited my grandfather's tool chest that he used for many decades working for the Parker Pen Company. Inside of that chest were those two little wooden trays. Thanks for asking about them:)

I believe the Platinum pens are made in Japan. I know the one time I bought cartridges from them, it actually shipped from Japan.
