Was in Barry a few days ago, funny enough I seen you and Mel walk past me on the sea front in Porthcawl, yesterday was having a beer at the water front
I just found this channel by accident.. 3rd video watched now, like it.. Something about your voice is nice and reassuring. Wish you'd tried chips from both places though :D Growing up in Bristol in the 70s, all my school chums went to Barry Island regular - it was basically the closest we had to a theme park in the area (we took what we could get). We never went as my parents said it was tacky and crappy.. They preferred WSM - lol (maybe one day I'll get around to watching Gavin And Stacey - i love Rob Brydon, almost as much as i hate james cordyn).
Not the way I remember it.Used to go there with the Sunday School annual outing.Always got lost on the beach,we used to shelter from the rain under where you bought your chips,I can see why there’s so many dead seagulls about you didn’t give him one chip, they help their self in Tenby. Never heard of chips and gravy till I worked in the Steel works,it’s a taffy thing. This video must be an old one made before the Porthcawl fish and chips.Still very interesting.
It's difficult to recognise Welsh seaside resorts when it's not raining. Don't worry the seagull did get a few chips I dropped, he didn't give up. This was filmed recently, last Friday.
That accounts for the painting Marcus, pity you were in the house when I and Nessa walked past, she was desperate to say to you, OH you missed a bit. Great production as ever.
@@flydriveexplore I know what you mean, my mate's parents live a few doors down, and when I was around 17, his dad had me up a ladder, that was balanced on the wall wearing a pair of bright orange overalls painting the front of the attic bedroom window. Talk about hanging on for dear life. Those overalls were a funny colour after I had finished.
Some more Fish & Chips, this time in Porthcawl, South Wales bit.ly/3hloFxL
Nice video.
Years since I saw Barry Island but I have had a couple of people ask if there really is such a place
😄
The gravy and chips looked lush.
Some excellent gravy and chips in 'real' Barry Island
Hey great video. Looks like you had a real good time. Mmm gravy and chips tidy butt.
Took me back to when I was a kid.
Another great video from beautiful Wales loved it not been there for years as I'm close to porthcawl kids love it there 😊😊
I hadn't been to Barry since the '90s, much better than I remember.
On a different note, when are you going to start making videos again?
It is like poutine, I was just thinking the only thing those chips and gravy needed was some cheese curds! yummm
So good. I still haven't tried proper poutine.
@@flydriveexplore one day!

It was a good day, nice and sunny (and chips)!

Tidy vid Marcus - it looks a nice spot to visit and the Chips and Gravy looked Lush! :-)
It was a good day out, Barry was much better than when I visited last (a long time ago)!
@@flydriveexplore Tidy! :D
You need to come back to Barry 2024, and you and your Wife go on Aerospace ( Speed 32) and on Top Scan
Went to Barry Island as a youngster, so long ago I don't even recognize it from your video. It's looks like a fun place to explore for a few hours.
It's definitely improved since my last visit

Thanks, I've decided I hate painting and I don't like heights.

Fun place! Google says it's not too far from Cardiff...
It's quite close and there is a train service too. It's very close to Cardiff airport.
@@flydriveexplore My friends at Uni. would use that phrase "lush" ...never knew what it meant... kind of reminds me of the Jersey shore but nicer
