    Regarding your comment about April being a "weird time to start a planner": this is the equivalent of the American academic planners that start in June or July. This is when the Japanese school year restarts!

    Thanks for sharing! I've used an April start Cousin since 2015 and wouldn't be able to survive without it. It's my work planner. I'm a university lecturer so I like the fact that it starts roughly at the end of the UK academic year - kind of like a reverse academic planner for me.

    I bought eldenring for my son, who was living with me for a while. My husband doesn't like it, but he plays a lot of other games. I also like to watch them play games. I play some games myself, but I have too much other hobbies to really get into it for too long.

    I really like how you use the monthly calendar to track the fun stuff you’re doing, first with the post it’s and then the pictures and writing. I keep my appointments in Google calendar so I like creative ways to use the monthly. Thanks for sharing. I have been so tempted to try a hobonichi

    • @RachelleinTheory
      @RachelleinTheory  Před 2 lety +2

      Hobonichi is great! I find it to be just flexible enough and structured enough for what I need. Plus the paper is a dream. But yeah I use google calendar too so definitely happy to share how I use the monthly!

    Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your planning, productivity, and financial tracking system. I'm taking away some wonderful new ideas. And I loved your introduction too. Thank you! Like you, I tried a Hobonichi Weeks this year, which is a wonderful planner in many ways. But I was itching to get back to the Cousin like you. So funnily, I bought a Spring Cousin on Amazon. When it arrived all the way from Japan, I discovered it was a 2021 Spring Cousin!!! Oh well. Luckily, I was still able to get a 2022 Jan Start Cousin and I opted for that. I won't fill in all the details from my first 3 and 1/2 months, but I will fill in the main events so I will have all of 2022 in one book.

    • @RachelleinTheory
      @RachelleinTheory  Před 2 lety +2

      I can't believe you got the 2021 on accident!! If I were you I would use the extra cousin for a daily journaling/art/junk journaling space, since you don't necessarily need it dated. I love that you're backfilling the main events, sometimes that can be so fun to remember and create spreads around

    Nice video and nice setup. Just found your video. Yes, I did do a Cousin with an April start in 2020. I'd started a new job a few months before that and finaliy realized that I needed a dedicated work planner and I knew the Cousin could handle it! And it did. It did feel weird at first having a planner not start in January! It was also my first experience doing a single book instead of an avec with 2 books and I discovered to my surprise how much I preferred a single book. Looking forward to more of your content. I also picked up the Animal Crossing themed cover and shitajiki! 😄 This is my first Hobonichi and I picked up the April start; I like that I won't have to be shopping for a new planner during the chaotic winter holiday season, given how shipping tends to be delayed then.
    I look forward to your April video! However, since the text in Japanese planners is so tiny, would you consider setting up the shot closer? It's a little hard to read zoomed out, and I care more about the book contents you're showing than your coffee mug off to the side! 😅

    You're right about the hobo weeks! I want a hobo weeks in the size of the weeks, but with the same pages as in cousin!!!! 500 of them: yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily, all in one, in the weeks size!!!! A portable one!!! Probably, the Standard size TN would be great too in the same format! Like: 1st notebook: yearly and monthly, 2nd: weekly for half a year, 3rd: daily pages!
