Love the shirt.
Wow, what a great Final Thoughts video! I can't tell you how helpful these are. Thanks Richard.

Darn it Richard... as always, very informative, raw and natural conveying of the gameplay... but darn it, as always, convincing me to buy the damn game. (please note, I'm fully aware I'm blaming you for my own choices. Don't take it personally... ;-P )
Thank you!
This looks exactly like what I've been wanting from Ryan Laukat. Basically a combination of his previous games. (Plus a solo mode to boot.) Already pre-ordered, so it's just the waiting game now.
Thanks Rahdo for featuring this. Just wondering if this game is a really big table hog? with individual city board for buildings, character board and set of 20 building tiles..
it's not as bad as it looks because all of the elements are individual, so you can slot them around as needed, and the central board is small. if it were bigger it could be a problem. that said, the board with all the exchange rates doesn't even need to be on the table except as a player aid. you can keep track of the round # and prestige with some dice :)
Above and Beyond - I guess that's the next title in the series!
Infinity & Beyond!
Indeed. Made me think of this song by Edgar Winter from 1979! lol czcams.com/video/tF1v1FMsE_s/video.html
Would love to see a top list of your favorite Laukat games!
12. megaland
11. klondike rush
10. the ancient world
9. city of iron
8. artifacts inc
7. roam
6. 8 minute empire: legends
5. above and below
4. islebound
3. sleeping gods
2. now or never
1. near and far
(haven't tried deep vents or empires of the void)
Thanks man! Didn't expect that so fast 😂 I really should get Islebound to the table sometime soon, I own it for over a year, but still haven't played it..
The game looks nice, but in four players it would require really large table or more tables to accomodate all the pieces.
Love to pre-order but no shipping to Mexico!!! Expats fuming!!
Esto apesta :(
I just got my copy today, and my only complaint (and its true for all the games in this series, is the lack of a game insert to organize the pieces. I know it saves money, but having all the pieces in sorted ziplocs really detracts from the attractiveness of this game when I compare it with other games I've gotten recently. I always end up having to go to Etsy and purchase an insert for the game to organize it.
Sadly the combat is too random in my taste, even with variant. I hoped it will have similar combat system to Sleeping Gods.
oh that would make the game way too long! :)
@@rahdo Sleeping Gods combat system is what caused me to trade it away after 2 plays :/
I subscribed because of the shirt. Donated as well.
Should I pre-order the game? I guess it is now or never...
You get a like just because of the t-shirt, then the game looks awesome as well.
I feel like this is Above and Below, Near and Far, and Sleeping Gods rolled into one...which is exactly what I want. I don't know any of these well, just basing this on your comments and reviews I've seen. Until now, I couldn't touch Ryan's other games solo. Maybe Sleeping Gods, but that is maybe too much narrative for me. This feels like the perfect amount or that story-driven mechanic.
I'm curious if you think this would ever hit the table for you and Jen.
Thanks Rahdo, another good + + recommendation for my shelf.
oh we definitely enjoyed it and would play again :)
