Many players think that to level up their character from 1 to 50 in ESO, they should do the same thing over and over and over again. Just stop! IF YOU ARE NEW TO ESO, then Power leveling and grinding is actually the complete opposite of what you should be doing to really build your character the right way! Instead, if you do the 7 things I’m about to show you in this video, you’ll be so much better off in the long run, so let me break it all down for you.

In Cyrodiil, it's very important to complete the full pvp tutorial, because by doing so, you'll level the pvp skill lines to level 3, at which point you can unlock the continuous attack passive that will give you major gallop at all times, making your horse move faster. Which is a godsend at early stages.
Or you can do a single battle grounds match for the same thing

@@guywithamoustache2391 level 50 cp ~300ish but I tried all the classes before picking a main, I think thats where most my time went.
Not sure if you mentioned it or not, but as soon as you are level 10, join a campaign and do the intro to cyrodiil quest which will get you access to the passive perk under the assault skill line that makes your mount considerably faster.
THIS! That 30% bonus to mount speed is EXTREMELY helpful for any new characters you make.

Just a lil side bit for anyone interested in War Horn but not PVP, it's pretty easy to find a small army of players defending or attacking some points. This can help you get level 4 pretty easily.
One thing I'm doing while I level skill lines is to have a skill or two on my backbar, and just make sure I complete quests on my backbar. This way, when I complete a quest for a bunch of XP, im scaling my class skills, my destruction staff, dual wield, and bow

Thank you, man. Ive just started playing again after my friends got ESO at Epic and with Free Trial, i just became lost with what to do after getting all sky shards, and doing Dark B. Storyline. All of this with a new character, a dps two-handed stamnecro.

I played ESO back when cold Harbour was the tutorial and I didn't really care too much for the game. I played with a group of friends so I kinda got stuck with a class that I didn't really like for the sake of building a decent group composition not knowing, that doesn't really matter early on. I'm playing solo now and picked a class I actually enjoy and I'm having a lot more fun than I was.

This video is mainly about powerlevelling. I dont think new players should power level their character but experience the game as they discover stuff. I'm a new player and I would have liked earlier to know about companions, scrying, how the bank works, how crafting works and stuff. Oh and it took me ages to find out I actually had a mount I could ride on

Honestly the best advice I could ever give to new players to ESO is just pick a class and race you think are cool, and just go and enjoy the game, do quests, explore the world and get immersed in the stories, build guides and dungeon/xp spamming only really becomes necessary once you hit CP160 so until you get there just enjoy the ride
This was good. Ive told many new players on Facebook that they should do the tutorial and the base game starter zones. And i always warn against power lvling.
If youre a new player. Even once you hit lvl 50. You're still not max lvl. You you still have 3,600 lvls before youre max so power lvling to 50 is not good. Youll be missing gear, lack of skill points and youll be subject to ESO fatigue a lot easier. Like you said its boring killing the same thing over and over with no change.

Go to 50 then quest
power level to 1160, after that you dont need CP anymore. This is for trials as dps. Tanks dont even need more than 300 cp for trials.
Friend of mine recently got me back into the game, because I quit because questing is so mindnumbingly boring in this game. We started doing trials and it has been the most fun time I have ever had in ESO.

I've power leveled a few characters and realized later it was a mistake. You end up with not enough skill points to do anything useful. You end up going back and playing the game as intended.

@@HackTheMinotaur personally I’m a PvP guy. When I level I do it through battle grounds. I do the battle ground and yes I do play to help my team win. It’s not all death match for me as I do enjoy the objectives however before the battle grounds end I quit the BG so I don’t get the massive chunk of experience at the end. It’s works perfectly. It slow levels my toon and my skill lines and I get to really enjoy my character doing what I love to do for a much longer period of time. If at any point I need a skill point I just hit a public dungeon. To me this makes the game so much more enjoyable.
you get plenty enough skill points from running the normal dungeons (1 and 2) and speed running all the public dungeons.
I allways do a full overland skyshard run of EP or dc faction at lvl 10 couse thats when you can get major gallop, only going into the main dungeon in each zone for another easy skill point, run dungeons as they unlock for the SP, And chars have plenty of skill points never had an issue power leveling just gotta do it right, n if u want meteor farm the books while grabing sky shards bit more work and those
I have 200+ hours in game, but they've been spread across many years with many long breaks, so I still consider myself a brand new player and I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing most of the time. I just got back in and I really want to learn and not be so overwhelmed that I quit again this time. I find that asking questions and having a friendly guild helps a lot. :)

Great video! People often forget that every rank in pvp is a skill point. Every 4 person dungeon has a skill point. Every story quest like cadwell’s silver and gold quests reward you a skill point. Every public dungeon has a sky shard and skill point. Not to mention the do you will get for completing them.

does the skill point from public dungeon group event also receivable for second characters?
I have a level 45 healer/crafter and I haven't even looked at the story yet. I completed Knarithi's Roost, join the Fighter's and Mage's guilds, got set up for crafting writs, dove straight into dungeons, and resource grinding to max out my crafting skills. I do my daily writs, ledgermain, and Seals of Endeavour, dungeon, and some light grinding for mats each day.
This would have been helpful early on.

If you are new to the game and you don't have a maxed out crafter with tons of materials and gold, just do this:
Do the tutorial, pick the gate that brings you to your factions baginner zone, welcome to the base game. Talk to the first questgiver...
Talk to the "Hooded Figure" (you will meet her, don't worry you can not miss her), this starts the basegame mainstoryline. Mix it in with the zone- and factionstoryline.
Follow the natural quest progression(s). Join the Fightersguild and Magesguild and the Undaunted, do their daily quests. Unlock all skillines, learn crafting and do the daily crafting quests. Do the "Invitation to Cyrodil" quest! (short questline to introduce you to Cyrodil with NO PVP involved, unlocks two additional skillines and three skillpoints). Pick up all skyshards in every zone along the way, do all the Delves and Dolmens along the way and don't ignore sidequests, they are well worth it.
There is no need to rush! Just enjoy the game, soak in the atmosphere, immerse yourself, have fun :)
Dungeons and Battlegrounds: are a thing for masive XP gains, do the daily(s) and be done with it, they suck when you are low level and some dude like myself just rushes through it for the daily...
really, besides the XP you get nothing of value out of this while leveling so don't sweat it.

the dolmens is the top tier fo gain exp, in alik dsrt,getting first the line of dwnward and taking the rings and amulets from the chests

i wish you would explain a bit more. You said we unlock a second weapon and more slots at 15 but im level 22 and i still have what i started out with? Like how do i get them? I'm new I haven't heard nothing about going to the stable and adding points. I just seen something about going to a stable everyday to add points in a video today. I have yet to do that. I'm going to try it tomorrow.
Ive just logged in since not playing since 2015 and i cant remember at all how to play lol, it says im champion level 155 and i have 300k gold is that good? Im debating starting a fresh character to relearn the game then maybe switching back to the main at a later stage. Im sure when i played it was done in veteran ranks like vet rank 14 i remember not sure

The rune Knight arcanist tank build on your website says to use both Rune of the Colorless pool and Rune of uncanny adoration on the back bar, but those are both the same skill but different morphs, what am i actually supposed to put there?
One is supposed to be for regular fights, the other is for boss fights, as he mentions in the written guide for that build. You're supposed to swap between them via Armory loadouts.

@@GalaxyFoxx418 I'm not 100% sure since I don't use that build and he hasn't put the video out yet, but probably whatever you want; all of Hack's builds can act as templates for you to customize to your liking :)

Farm sky shards for skills and waypoints, then power level at alikr dolmens, SR or BP. do dungeons as they unlock for the skill points and dont forget to go into cyrodill at level 10 and do the intro quest so you can get major galop passive gg

I went dungeons only from lv 10 to 50 and i feel like i have too many points actually... i would recommend putting one skill each of every skill line u wanna use on second weapon slot, and switch before killing/completing quests to the second so that u get lv ups for all of them even if u you cant use the skill on set weapon... and if you dont want eso + for crafting backpack its also better i think, because by the time u reach lv 50 u will have 120+ space on both char and bank, and you dont have to run to sell stuff etc so often, also u can dissasemble stuff you dont need at a bench to get crafting lv fast and when you come back to questing the world will have high value resources instead of useless ones .... currently at lv 45 and got all class skills, heavy medium armor, sword and shield, 2handed, destruction and restoration at 40+ im playing 5th day now xD

I bought the game 2 months ago. Played it for a week then deleted it. I chose to play as a Dark Elf and go straight to Vvardenfell and as soon as I got done with the starter island the game took me to south of Morrowind I talked to some people maybe did a few things and got sent to Vvardenfell. I explored the island going to Morrowinds iconic places because I wanted to play Morrowind at the time and still do but since getting a PC to play a game made in 2002 is expensive I think ESO did some of the recognizable places good and it was just cool being able to see these places with major or minor differences. Thats when I got off 2 months ago but today I got back on and did Vivecs quest at first I wasnt caring for the main story still really aint but Vivecs side quest is very good for a side quest and I felt a sense of progression to want to keep going.
EDIT- I forgot to say but im either level 13 or 15 and I'm doing the main quest. I just got out of Molag Bals realm.
So you don't recommend leveling asap but recommend getting 2-3 leves in dungeon?

I was an OG ESO player but stopped playing years ago and have decided to pick it back up on PC just the idea of having to start all the way over seems like such a chore
Heres a short version for any new players, 1) DO NOT POWER LEVEL YOUR FIRST CHARACTER work on quests and level up doing those because you will get skill points and even gold doin the main quests and you will need them all, also do dungeons as the 1st time you go in them theres a quest that gives a free skill point. 2nd make sure you work on ur crafting traits atleast on one character (another reason u will need all the skill points you can get) its a slow grind but its nice to have so you can make your own armor for future characters .

The first time I played this game I completed the main story but thought to my self did I even complete the main story so I haven't brought any dlc because of it turns out that I have and but there so many side quest that different starting areas that it gets confusing
How does eso xbox doing nowadays. Is it still well populated?
As a returning player, I would suggest: 1) just invest in the ESO membership for a month and see whether you like the game. It gives you a crafting bag and access to DLCs. Given the limited space and the big role, crafting plays in this game ... you will end up avoiding picking materials and hating the game. Moreover, it will allow you to get companions/NPCs and access Scrying skill which you will need later on
2) Get a free Armory rack from the store for your Inn so you can switch/reset builds

started playing with friends. they're a sorc and a warden. i tried dragonknight tank setup.. it's difficult. one of them doesn't care to sit and learn the game to play, they just wanna run in and steal shit and attack stuff. the other is more or less like me, slow going, learning the game and such. we could do with a healer, and I've thought of changing from tank dragonknight to healer dragonknight or just leveling up another class entirely for group sessions. we're on ps5 if that matters.
Warden and Templar are definitely the play for healing

@@davidicus6791 sadly not lol. They just weren't feeling it and so I deleted it from my system. It's tough because one of them only wants to play one type of game alone, not really joining chat and the other will play so much that they burn themselves out and get bored. So I gave up trying to form a group of games with them and just do my own thing in chat talking to them lol.

When the new chapter released I saw people offering to assist people in levelling from level 3 to 50 in 2 hours and 15 minutes, I'm sure anyone who used this method would be in very bad shape at level 50, with way fewer skill points, and unevenly levelled skills, and completely lacking many important skill lines.
The difference between those players and you is that they know how to get skillpoints efficiently, ie speed running all normal dungeons (1 and 2) thats 40 skill points, then speed running all public dungeons thats another 30 skill points.
Timegated skill lines are going to take few days, but those players who know what they are doing are endgame ready in maybe 1 week.

To your point about doing the tutorial and ppl skipping it, no wonder nefas said in a recent video half the community dont know how to spot a heavy and to block/dodge it. Quite concerning, along with not knowing how it looks when an enemy must be interrupted. No wonder they removed the need of interrupt on the big white wolf boss in mhk, they need to dumb it down for ppl who don't know how to or how to spot the need for an interrupt, just because they all skipped/didn't pay attention to turorial.

Wow, I did the exact opposite of all of that grunded for 6 hours str8 b4 I died even once followed by 3 more times in a row in the infinite archives 😅 and only solo. Skyrim dragon born style #Demonking

Not before lvl 50 cp 160, even then you should be looking for a particular armor set
@@michaelhomes8049 It is worth it, because you can still fill out the sticker book from scrapping set gear from an early level and just Reconstruct that gear at Clockwork City or a guild hall once you reach CP160 - there's no need to wait until you're CP160 before farming sets. Because you'll still have to farm a shit ton of materials and enough transmute crystals too and this becomes a lot of work atop repeatedly delve and dungeon running. I know some people like to run around delves for ages, killing bosses trying to farm perfect drops, i.e. Divines, but this can sometimes take longer than just farming a full set and Reconstructing 5 pieces due to various cooldown mechanics that hinder farming this way.
I've never played or opened the game ever, i'll watch this and update this comment later on how it was.

1. Tutorial
2. Starter Zone (clear quests and get all sky shards and lore books)
3. First faction zone
a. Pick up Fighter’s Guild, Mages Guild, undaunted skill lines.
b. Pick up crafting skill lines (all but jewelry will be available).
c. Charge mount speed
d. Buy bag space (if you have the funds).
e. If level 10 enter Cyrodiil to pick up skill lines (to level up to unlock the speed passive buy some stone repair kits port to a faction controlled castle and repair walls).
f. Talk to hooded figure to start faction quest.
g. Complete faction and all zone quests before moving on to the next zone.
@frankieluv1479 on your step e, just do the Cyro intro quest and you get the levels you need to open Continuous Assault. Faster than trying to find something to repair.
The level grind could also burn you out real quick.
Main story quest, fun, until you get to coldharbour halfway. Got totally lost and abandoned the quest. Thats not my idea of fun gaming.

Do not lvl as dps or you will get stuck in q for hours. Lvl as a tank, you will learn more and q is instant. Random dungeon is the key and you get 1 sp for each quest. STAY AWAY FROM SKYREACH!

REALLY hate they scale up your level and stats. Destroys the point of even playing the game. The world scaling as well, no area is actually dangerous unless you run into a purposely hard world boss. Removes any sense of fear while exploring :(
Really should've told new players to tank. Your queue is *instant* and - at the lower levels - you don't really have to do anything but press one button every 15 seconds on boss fights. Other DPS are going to nuke down trash before you can even press a button.

@@PhotriusPyrelus It is not the best advice, because people who fake-tank or fake-heal usually make up for it by being high-DPS builds. If you have the misfortune to get into an RND with people who are not good enough to manage without a tank or heals you might get kicked, because some players are just like that... they blame others for their own inadequacies. Low-level fakes are often very annoying for trying to "rush" dungeons too, they keep getting killed by mobs and bosses because of their impatience. Dungeons often require team effort, so as a "new player" you should respect other players, particularly ones with experience, instead of expecting them to carry you just because you're a newbie and can't be arsed to queue for a few minutes. You learn nothing if you're relying on other people to win everything for you, such motives represent very narcissistic behaviour. Bit like thumbing up your own comments on YT, which you obviously do too... talk about ego... 🙄
@@MarcusBritishjust. Tank. Sword and board. I did it early game and made a good progress on normals manage to do most of the dung. Quest too.
Its not even full tank just ebon set and a dps set that I just manage to get a 5 set.
The only problem I got is the mechanics on certain dlc dungeons cause no one really tells you what's happening...
@@PhotriusPyrelus no, I'm an experienced player who is sick of fake tanks taking spots in groups needed by real tanks. It may work while your still a noob, but it won't later on, so stop pulling that crap unless you can actually do the job you signed up for.
