How to level up from 1-50 in The Elder Scrolls Online EFFICIENTLY! | NO POWER LEVELING!

  • This guide is to help NEW and existing players find out how to level up from 1-50 EFFICIENTLY in The Elder Scrolls Online, without the inevitable backtracking people waste so much time doing after they realize power levelling got them NO where fast.
Power levelling in ESO is of course very popular, but it has a lot of false hope hidden behind it. You waste a lot of time and resources in order to fast track levelling while spending countless pennies changing gear every 5-10 levels for that apparent "faster levelling" experience, ONLY to have to go all the way through the game again ANYWAY, because of the amount of skill points you missed on the way! Inevitably making your "3-4 hour power levelling session" actually more like a few days!
People get to 50 fast, then start joining VETERAN queues for dungeons hoping to get those achievements and loots while performing badly because they learnt nothing along the way and don't have the skill points they need to get even HALF of their passives they intended to aim for, let alone morph anything they have.
Everyone learns at their own pace and that is OK, the community is extremely helpful to new players, but the one thing that will NEVER help a new player, is rushing the learning experience.
The Elder Scrolls Online is an extremely UNIQUE mmorpg and should be approached like any NEW game you have no idea about. Load it up, start playing, and try to understand it as you go in your own time. You don't already know everything about it just because you played an mmorpg before. The only thing you have experience in is "oooOO there are a lot of people here!". It's a start but it is not enough ;) .
NEW power levelling players, while trying to pursue that false endeavour, forget or misunderstand that the levelling process is where you gain most of your experience and ability to perform, where the content is most forgiving, AND where most of the skill points to BUILD your character generally come from. Learning mechanics you will encounter, understanding how the basics work, and getting those skill points under your belt make all the difference to the character you are creating. Your character creation is not done in the character creation screen, it is done between the levels 1-50!
There is no short cut for learning, only resources to learn from. But being PREPARED will help with your learning experience a lot!
In this guide i teach you everything you need to know about the basics of preparing a new character/player with a WIN WIN strategy for leveling both efficiently AND at a steady pace, so little work what so ever is required once you do get to that magical level 50 and/or 160cp!
Your first few mins or so of building your character is what will save time LATER, and make you a better player TODAY!
    ENJOY!

Great information. Side note on the opening pvp quest. If you follow the quest all the way through you'll end up at Assault and Support level 3. This opens the "Continuous Attack" passive in Assault. That one point spent will make travelling for any new player MUCH better.

@@vishyrf That is incorrect. The first passive on the assault tree is what you are after and it requires lvl 3 assault/support. I just did it on a new character yesterday.

I am so glad you mentioned the “you won’t know you have taunt” thing. I ran a dungeon and someone obviously was using a “new to them” build and had taunt without knowing. It made tanking for me really hard. Guess what he said “this tank doesn’t know how to taunt.” All 3 of us asked him why he was taunting the enemies away from me. After explaining to him, he said sorry every 2 minutes through the rest of the dungeon. Was a vet dungeon

You are so awesome for making this video! I reached level 25 with a character I was somewhat happy with but his class and weapons weren't quite working and I was unhappy with the slow level-up pacing. After starting a new character with more focused stats and a better plan (thanks to you)...I'm more optimistic with the progression this time around. THANK YOU!

At level 10, it's better to hit up the random dungeon finder right away before you do Cyrodil. The reason is because your first quest from the Undaunted is to do fungal grotto. If you do "random normal dunegon" for the XP boost, you should get Fungal Grotto if you do it at level 10. If you level past 10, you will start unlocking different dungeons that will be added into the pool. Then you might not get Fungal Grotto from a random, and you'll end up having to queue it manually to complete the quest, making you miss out on the bonus xp reward. Do random dungeon finder at level 10, and you'll complete 3 objectives at once. Random dungeon, Undaunted Quest, and the quest within Fungal Grotto itself. Depending on XP modifiers from scrolls/events, you can gain 3 - 8 level ups from one dungeon completion. Then you can go to Cyrodil after.

When I level a new character I do the main quest line and all side quests in a zone. When you're low level you can really enjoy the quests and the overland content. Once you're higher level those will be no challenge and actually so easy it's even boring(for me at least). After completing a whole zone plus the daily dungeons etc, I'm usually already above level 50.

Couple tips I like to do with new characters.
    1. Go to Summerset early on, and unlock psijic portals. You might need to play through a couple of the main quests there to do it but it doesn't take long. Once you've unlocked them you'll be able to see them everywhere in the world when you are questing in other areas. They are basically treasure chests with really good loot and pretty rare. Always nice to stumble across one when questing or doing whatever.
    2. If you want to craft, unlock the daily writs and deconstruct all gear you aren't using. Sell anything with the ornate trait but deconstruct everything else for materials and crafting xp.
    3. Like he said in the video, keep at least one skill from each of your class trees on your skill bar to keep leveling them up. When you unlock your secondary weapon (level 15), put one skill from each weapon skill on the back bar and equip any weapon you want. Whenever you go to turn in a quest switch over to your back bar first so you can level up all your weapon skills. really useful to have them all leveled in case you want to try a different build later on.

The biggest tip I received when I started was “take it slow”. I realized that was a multilayered tip that I wish I woulda took more to heart. Although if it woulda all been explained day 1, I woulda quit because it’s all overwhelming. I got to CP 85 & realized I was lacking in stats and skills..so I started a new character and am currently trying to do it better this time. It’ll just take time for your friend to a lot through trial & error, and as the love for the game happens, people become interested in more info, better builds/gear etc.

  • @KeeseGaming
    @KeeseGaming Před 2 lety +8

Also take into consideration the amount of time it'll take to get to CP160. A new update will change what sets do or the numbers they put out. The 1st level 50 character takes the longest but your account will take off with each character you max. A build can require tweaking by the time it's ready.

Inside, there are multiple armor sets and weapons which will let you unlock the sets without risking stealing. I also figured out that examining bookcases will sometimes get you bonuses.

Awesome video as always man! The only thing I would add is you briefly touched on farming gea just to farm gear but people who don't regularly watch your content probably don't know what that means. If someone tells you you need to get a full set of burning spell-weave and then you're allowed to participate in the trial to Farm sirroria for instance what he is saying it's just Farm sirroria initially and cut out the middle step. You waste a lot of time if you try to farm another set first and you can complete the content without having some crazy beginner gear. Also if you want to be a good player rapidly instead of just having lots of experience points then follow all of this man's content and watch his streams and you will be very surprised how fast you pass up people who aren't doing that LOL

For the gear I recomend Coldhardbour's Favorite and Vampire Kiss, 5 and 5, but no the weapons, so you can pickup any weapon and increse your damage ouput. Those set works for Magika, Stamina and even HP builds, and gives a lot of survivability, plus recomend 3 pieces heavy (Chest, hadns, and legs) 3 of the other your build needs, and 1 of the last one, and jewels. Rememberyour weapon doesnt need to be crafted, you can pick ones from playing, just to add more damage. You can buil those set at lvl 10, and use it up to CP 160, especially if friend powerlevel you (recomended for 2nd and more chars) for first char do as the video and ask someone to gift you the set, Im sure people will help you ESO is a greath comunity! So, I have a question, I have been playing on Xbox for years and a friend talked me into getting an account on PC. I remember how long it took to level up my crafting skills and get all the traits researched.
How would I go about throwing time for crafting and gathering materials into the mix? Would I just do daily crafting writs and keep the research going at every chance? Wait until I'm CP160 and then grind them out? Go on periodic deconstruction sprees while I'm leveling?
Just trying to figure out the most effective way of getting it done. I would prefer that I had my crafting skills maxed out and the majority of traits researched by the time I hit CP160, but I also need to make sure I have enough skill points to make that happen. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I'm level 44 on my main right now and I've never done a single dungeon or ever been in a party. Why? I don't want to feel like I'm inconveniencing anybody. I don't want to feel like I'm in the way, not knowing what I'm doing and getting everybody killed over and over. I'm not even in any guilds right now. I'm actually pretty sure nobody wants to even talk to me in the game, especially after I died half a dozen times to one dragon in Elsweyr because I pulled aggro off the tank since I didn't know what I was doing. Maybe these games really aren't for me.

Assuming that I can have 4 character slots? Or more idk, I am planning on lvling some alts in near future, my plan is to do morrowmind on one, and 3 other parts that each combines 3 or more zones for other characters. Do you think I can get them all to max level and then worry about more advanced stuff, or do I need to play 80% of map just to level one character? Do you know what I mean? Can anyone help? I cannot find these answers on google.

didn't watch the video completely - but everybody should now the only one thing that is needed to use the starting area of your aliance, is the main quest. Only the one Harborage from your aliance will be accessible for your character. We had quite the confusion about it as we started with 3 friends and only one of us was in a different alliance and couldn't enter our harborage. I like to take the mainquest with me until level 50 at least until coldharbour - due to all the free stuff and skillpoints you get when playing it. so now watching further...

I have a level 39 Necromancer and I've got 5 skill points I can't even use because my skills are still not high level enough. Example, Living Death is only Level 14 and Mage skills are level 2. Any idea how I could better level those up as quickly as possible?

Another good tip for beginners is to always read bookshelves, you don’t need to actually read them, just open the books and move on. Not sure if you mentioned it or not.

Dungeon Finder, like with many MMOs, can take ages just to find players, that will most likely leave because they don't like the dungeon. And the circle of strife continues..
Just a heads up to newcomers to ESO.
Best group finder in an MMO that I've seen is Swtor's. The less said about WoW's, the better.

FFXIV has a decent dungeon finder - a lot of rewards to drag people back to old content so it only really struggles if you're playing an overpopulated role in a low traffic queue at odd hours. Otherwise it's pretty nifty.

Also, make 1 character of each class and do it again. In the end, you'll have all classes unlocked, don't make more characters than that, no need, just use an armory station to change builds. And after all that, when you go farm cp, use a build specific for that, that's when you go for power leveling, NefasQS have a good video about that. GG

Put training on everything and then don't change your gear until you hit level 50.
Yeah it did that... to an extent. I did change my gear when I encountered drops that had the training perk that could be used to replace my current equipped training gear.
Like finding a lvl 29 training destruction staff that I used to replace the lvl 10 one I was using.

One very important thing missed in the video (or more precisely just very briefly mentioned) is exploration xp. When you first time discover things and locations you get xp for it, and that xp is substantial for a new character. This opens another way to help levelling up from 1 to 10 for existing players with new characters: simply teleporting to you guild members. Just open up your guilds page, order by location and start teleporting to there one by one. Discovering the location will get you xp plus unlock the map and wayshrine for you. You can also grab any nearby skyshard too for skillpoint as bonus. As I said the exploration xp is substantial for a new character and if you're in big guilds with lot's of members it easily can get you 3-5 levels in itself (plus unlock all the zones for later) in a very short time.
