They are taking characters we like but didnt perform well, giving the a buff so they can actually compete in gameplay and a nice new skin with it? Other than the fact you have to pay for gatcha skins which has nothing to do with fav items, this seems like an absolute win?

I have no problem with it either. I'm not a fan of the way the treasure system is set up though. It just seems like it'll take way to long to get a treasure especially if you can't make it very far in solo raid. Wish you could just buy Laplace's treasure with gold tickets instead of just copies of her.
@@MrJayslayerjay well they don't want people maxing them out immediately, they want they players to keep playing the game, so they have little choice except to make it the way it is so whales don't just finish them all in a couple days then never play until a new event drops.

I don’t think that makes too much sense. Other games with similar buffs to lower end characters don’t make them so inaccessible. What it does in nikke is that a regular player that wants to use laplace can’t and will probably have her powercrept by a pilgrim by the time they do have laplace’s treasure item, making it moot for most content.
Shift up probably planned this in advanced the favourite item system was supposed to drop in april so the 2 months still kinda work considering they delayed it because of the changes they made
They will probably do what they did with Christmas Rapi and have them on rate up in the respective summer banners. Having neon and marry in Sakura's banner and have anis and helm in Rossana's banner.
I believe this to. I can't see them not giving them a rerun. They'll most likely announce it when it's almost time for the banners to drop.

I don't see where the problem is, Shift Up brings us quality updates and I believe that it is okay as a company to use strategies to kinda "bait" people into buying the gacha costume for Viper (of course, if they do it all the time it's bad!) But we have a Summer Event coming and those bring a lot of Money so it's ni problem honestly.
I think that devs didn't announce the rerun on purpose because what we should be focusing are the new characters first and the event, because if the reruns were to be announced at the same time, there's gonna be a potential divide amongst the players; Should you pull Rosanna and Sakura or skip them? From a business standpoint, I'd rather avoid that in order to maintain the good revenue streak. I believe that the rerun's will come at the last week of the summer event or a replacement for the dead weeks before the next collab event on August
Now for Viper getting a costume and favorite item at the same time, I think it's just coincidental or rather an exclusive exception to promote. It's too early to assume that a nikke getting a skin means that they get a favorite item, since we've just got our first batch of favorite items for nikkes. But if that's the case for future events, I also don't see it as a bad thing, that means that nikkes have more opportunities to get buffed outside of the 2-month batches.
I mean, when they did the winter re-runs, they weren't their own banners. They were a part of Ludmilla's banner, but at a lower drop percentage.
Giving viper a gacha skin, while also giving her a favorite item actually makes getting the skin worth somethin.

Does that make anything better? Shiftup wants to sell their gacha skin, people that like viper will want the gacha skin, people looking to use viper will want the gacha skin, people that don't spend money on the game can still get her favorite item without any additional hassle. It's a win for Shiftup, win for viper fans, win for whales, and win for f2p players.

No rerun Summer Helm hurts me
If they do the summer banners like they did xmas, they wont rerun the banners but the previous summer units will be in the pool of characters you can get from the main banners. Also, they will be available as pity in the shop.

@@oIIified iirc its a 2% rate for the on banner limited, 1% rate for off rateup limited unit, then 1% for something else. So its not Sanis out of a billion other Nikkes, but its Sanis out of the 4 possible non-limited summer units then the rest of the cast. So it's not a rate up, but you still have a higher chance of getting Sanis than non-summer units.
Summer Helm would be a rerun for Summer part 2, just like last year, right?

In the survey they did ask how often people want favorite items so I’m not too surprised it came so soon I knew it was on the table but it’s weird because i haven’t seen anyone brought this up yet
I mean, considering the amount of Nikkes we have in game.. yeah, no doubt we wanted them added. Now its all a matter of resources. Perhaps slowing down production wouldn't be a bad thing. Full circle lol

Damn, seeing this after posting a video about the stream. I didn't even realize that they didn't mention reruns of last summers characters. This is a bit worrying, but all we can do is wait for more info.
As a Viper stan, I'm cool with it. What would be controversial is if they included maintenance items in the gacha skin rewards. I'd be happy about, but I can understand why some might not be.
I like that they put Viper's gacha costume with her favorite item. It makes sense. Something that deters me from getting a costume is that it's for a unit I never use. If they are releasing a big buff for Viper, and you can see what that buff is before you get her costume, you are more likely to pull for it, which is a win for SU. If you were going to get the costume anyway because you like it, now you know you'll actually use the unit as well, which is a win for you.
I’m annoyed by Moran getting left out. Even if she’s not getting an Alter, she deserves a swimsuit skin at the very least.

For everyone complaining about not announcing the reruns, please do some actual research before you get your panties in a bunch. The Christmas 2023 units were announced on December 1st and 2nd and both rerun confirmation was given till the 5th. So just wait before you start acting like its the end of the world.

One of problems you forgot mention is the major over saturation of tetra units. 5 banners in a row were tetra plus an extra 2 in between the odd elysion and missiles.

I had a feeling they wouldn't double up on the summer event like last year since Golden Coin Rush was such a big event and this coming summer event is huge as it is.
But I imagine they will probably put the re-run units in the patch notes since I'm sure the notes will also include Bunny Alice and Soda going into the recruitment pool.

Hey, I finally maxed my SR on Laplace. It says I need to do some kinda mission to get the favorite item. Can someone tell me what mission it's talking about and how to launch it?
Add the purple (SR) item, then max it out, only then the favorite item (gold/ssr) can be added.
Then just follow the indicator to the missions

I personally think with last uears summer units they will just increase the rate to pull them within the new banners like what they did with last years Christmas event when they increased the rates on Christmas rupee with Christmas ludmilla .

This seems like an extended frustration of paid gacha skin, its safe to say they are s here to stay.. but Nikke gives lot of free rewards + pulls than other gacha games out there, so at least they have to make a compromise to make money with some skin system or two. Sure, lot of them are expensive but at least skins don't disturb the pursuit of meta game for many F2Ps.
I believe people are just way too negative most likely Nikke is waiting on the patch notes to reveal everything

For me personally if they do run a rerun have them on their own banners, I can't tell you how annoyed I was at the winter Reruns being on the main banners, I could not Max Limit break Ludmilla because I just kept getting Rupee over and over again, to the point that I MLB her instead of Ludmilla because my luck just kept throwing her at me instead of the main target that I wanted. So honestly FOMO sucks but i'm happy if they don't do reruns.
They want to give a Fav item to pretty much every character at some point so if they are gonna push out a Gatcha skin it honestly makes sense to throw in another Fav item on top of it. I don't see why thats seen as greedy or not. Its a money dump yah but no one is forcing you to buy it the fav item is for Viper, not for the Skin so you still can work towards it even if you don't get the skin? Why is it such a problem?
I feel it’s safe to say that they will be rerunning the summer characters. Since they would have to be giving out anchor so people could get her free skin and the helm they are using to promote the Dave the diver event is summer helm instead of just giving vanilla helm a dive suit like mast.

Not sure if this is relevant. But I missed on Rupee's bunny costume the first time and they re run it randomly the second time. I got it then. Guess what I'm saying is that Shift Up knows when to cash grab on dry months or when they really need the cash flow.
They're probably expecting high sales for the summer event so maybe rerun + new summer nikke don't make sense to them. Why have 1 major payday when you can have 2? A re run could or could never happen at this point. I still wanna core up my S.Anis though.

I think the content is great, a mini collab is just a fun bonus, the viper skin looks great and if you think it's too much money, not getting it won't affect you in any way. I like the maiden skin, I think the guilty one is kinda ok.

About Red hood, I mainly see people saying they want a more lewd skin. Wat? Did you look at her original skin and think "Yup, they'll surely make it more lewd" I like the red cocktail dress, and the Biker outfit is amazingly cute. Yeah, the color theme is close to sugar, but sugar is wearing a tshirt, red hood a tube top, sugar is wearing leather pants, red hood is wearing shorts and stockings. They are very different. I think Shiftup should be releasing Favorite Items more frequently than every two months. I believe the treasures should be released every month because it takes a very long time to get them ready and leveled up. More choices are never a bad thing. As for the skins controversies, it doesn't affect me since until you can buy skins with in-game earned currency like Azur Lane I'm not diving down that rabbit hole. I will accept all of the free ones they give me regardless of who they're for, though.

I still use viper in solo boss battles. She's not as bad as people make her out to be. Only the meta people do that. She gets the job done.

WEll the good thing is the Fav item is not tied to the gatcha skin lol, So even if you get it or not the item will still be able to be grinded.
I really like viper skin tho. Her burst animation was godlike. Almost a perfection. The only nitpick that i have is that her face durinh idle pose didn't look as b!tchy and down bad evil as her og one. She looked abit too kind. Other than that, everything else were good. Gotta love the boyfriend shirt that she was wearing.

Viper is a "good unit" in the same realm as lapchong or diesel; Used to be played a lot in the past but are now power crept
Why get a gacha skin if they’re not meta? This means only players will pull for waifu.
But what if they were meta as well? Well, good thing there’s this thing called a “favorite item” which makes these forgotten characters closer to meta again!
I mean, all of it is optional. It’s all your choice in the end.
From what I see, it’s a win-win for both the players and the game.
Here’s the outcome:
- F2P players can skip the banner and have another meta unit for free just by grinding a little more
- Waifu and skin collectors get an beautiful new skin if they want to get her
- Shiftup gets more money to keep the game running and make it better, and make more related profitable content
Literally nobody loses! It’s not like we’re being forced or anything. This is the best of all worlds!
I don't think I have that much of a problem if they're adding additional value to the gacha costume. $60 with an updated skillset that you can still get ingame is something I don't mind.

I just don’t like needing max affection for the favorite items, a lot of my characters are LB0 or 1, I almost didn’t get laplace because she was LB1. They should just make it so you only need affection 10 or drop a banner with increased odds for favorite item characters.
I think if we complain enough as a community, we will get the reruns at this rate. 😂 Honestly, I'm glad that the characters for this summer event isn't absolutely broken must have or you can't play the game. I'm too broke at the moment from wuwa and previous nikke events. So this is honestly a relief and gives my wallet a break

I don't have Anchor, so unless I can actually get her, this skin is a complete waste of my time.
If I can get her, then that complaint goes away. Shift Up said literally nothing about actually getting her, so the assumption is that she won't be available. If they aren't going to make her available, then I'd much rather have the Rapi swimsuit skin, even though I don't use Rapi in any content either.
But people did complain about them, what are you talking about? Even Rapi they complained about, it was only less because she's the most popular character in the game. Plus people have different expectations when it comes to big special events, especially summer.

And for example, Neve is a limited SR Nikke, and she had a rerun in last year's winter event shop and there is no reason for ShiftUp to not do the same with Anchor. (But I guess tourists are more into insulting others, than having a common sense, or doing a quick research on the game.)

I will condemn harshly the lack of reruns. Other than that I'm really happy about the whole thing.
I’m more frustrated that we haven’t gotten a strong unit since Crown and the type of kits the new summer units have are looking niche or not meta again. If the only reason to pull is for wallpaper and design for this long I’m gonna get burnt out. The majority of the gameplay involves playing with your strongest teams and those teams need to change with steady pace.
I was lowkey whaling last year because there were so many amazing units with both good design and good kits. This year I’ve been damn near f2p and not missing out on anything. Do they not want money?

Just to correct most of all of us:
Viper was never bad.
She is a burst generator for pvp and is going to be on team 4 or 5 at the next pvp.
Another units that everyone should try to get prepared are pascal and neon.
And shes decent early-mid game due to the debuff on Burst. Although limited, she kinda helped me out when i got her.

All those units are SHOTGUN units. lol. wtf?
No, this year has only Assault Rifle summer units (Rosanna / Sakura). The other ones with a shotgun are skins only, not entirely new characters.

In regards to old S!units, their bad I guess for assuming their player base weren't idiots and could do the simple math if you just looked at how they structured the old winter units in the new winter units banners. They TOTALLY should have explicitly told us cause we need to be spoon-fed all our information since we can't put 2 and 2 together. I'm so tired of people crying over not getting rerun units that's most likely gonna get them on the banners or ticket shop, just not on rate up like the featured Nikkes.
Also regardless of the viper skin, you can still get her Fav Item even if you don't have it. They probably gave her the fav item now cause summer is one of their 5 big events (Xmas, Summer, Half/Full Anni, and Collabs) so it seems reasonable to drop one now.
They should actually mention it for all new players, which is for anyone that started in the last 6 or so months.
It’s kinda sad that it’s possible people won’t think they wont add previous summer units in these banners like Xmas. It’s common sense, just think man. 💀 It would make sense for new players to not know that but veterans should already know that.

I understand some people are mad about the content, but I'm very happy about the Summer Content! Rosanna and Sakura are hype for me, all the skins are amazing and that Viper Skin is so awesome! I really can't wait for Viper's Favorite item! After I'm done with Laplace's Item, Viper will be next! Also, that mini game looks so fire! I can't wait!!! That minigame collab is a huge flex, lol! Also, I'm choosing Option C!

@@machinronii It is a 3D game and the skins are interactable, that is why and because if you compare them, it is not worth the price of Nikke gacha skins, but it is only the question of the price more than anything, the snowbreak ones cost $30 including what I told you before, with Nikke it is so to speak the png, the burst animation, extra resources and that's it
