What makes this story so good is that Eddie's life was robbed. Most humans have felt similar feelings throughout their lives and it's what makes most of us, human. It's what makes Eddie's story so propelling. I loved the book, as someone who was in the 5th grade in the spring of 1984, it really hit home.
Master of Puppets was released in march 1986 the same time S04 takes place. So Eddie learned how to play a brand new song almost flawlessly in just a week or two

i like the reference to iron maiden’s the flight of icarus as the album from iron maiden appears in season 4
I think eddie didn't leave after all that because he internally gave into the imposed role that community imposed upon him, and he partially decided to embrace rhe outcast role on his own terms, also the girl offering him the opportunity to leave stopped talking to him, so maybe he thought he lost his opportunity to leave, and hopper telling him to stay was the straw that broke him from having the hope to leave.

The story was basically it gives more of a backstory to henry creel and it takes place in 1959 it was funny scary and the effects were awesome if you had the chance to go and you love stranger things I definitely recommend it

I saw someone trash talk this book and throw away their copy because he's not gay and didn't talk about Steve... gonna go into a rant here.
Eddie and Steve had no chemistry. At all. Eddie told him to get back together with Nancy. How is that saying he loves him? And the whole "Don't ya, big boy?" Was just Eddie being a teasing git. And Eddie pausing before saying to Steve, "Make him pay."isn't a "Oh my god, he was gonna tell Steve that he loves him." He was probably thinking of a way to say sorry for being skeptical of his change in character. Steve, along with Tommy and Carol, most likely picked on Eddie at some point.
Eddie and Chrissy had 2 scenes together. One of them is where she dies. And, they STILL had more chemistry than him and Steve. Eddie invites her to watch his band. That's like... Rockstar level flirting. She only remembered the name of his band and laughed at his goofy behaviour, and he said to Chrissy, "Flattery works with me." Eddie was smitten for her, and there were some signs that she felt the same way. The way she smiles around Eddie is the biggest tell. That was her genuine smile. Whereas, at the championship basketball game, it looked restrained.
Side note: shipping Eddie and Chrissy isn't "pedophilia". Chrissy is 18. Eddie is 20. So...

I thought the reason he was still in high school was because it's the only alternative to prison. When i was in school if you got caught with drugs or something you had 3 options. Alternative learning school where you had mandatory drug tests and had to see a therapist, get your g.e.d or go to juvie/jail. I was in the alternative school for non drug/violence reasons. I couldn't handle being in a big crowded school and literally had a breakdown and got suspended for it. I didn't hurt or threaten anyone but the school had been expecting me to fail because I'd previously been homeschooled from 3rd to 5th grade. No one remembered me and anyone who knew me knew my sister who had previously gone to the school 3 years before. I was a year behind everyone which was one of many reasons for being homeschooled. I came in all shy and looking completely different from anyone else with my black clothes and band tees. I was a fan of green day at the time of American idiot. I liked all different metal, punk, and just everything everyone else thought was weird. The people i hung out with outside school were into insane clown posse, marilyn manson, cannibal corpse, cradle of filth, and rammstein. I was into icp. I tried to not cause any problems and just do what I could without being a burden to the teachers by asking for help. Eventually the staff realized i was doing worse than usual socially and academically. I was always bad at math and science but did great with English and history. The principal and physical education teacher got sick of me not participating in gym or anything overly physical. They were both men and the coach was just a plain drunken douche. It all came out when we had a bmi and physical inspection from female staff who saw i was anorexic and covered in cuts and bruises. They assumed I was being abused at home. Not so much. My half sister was born 7 months before I started school and my parents were too busy to notice me and my older sister had her friends to hang out with. I was usually alone and the only people I was around were older or friends of my sister. After the school contacted my parents my sister finally admitted that she'd noticed something was wrong but didn't want her friends to get in trouble. I'd been getting abused by her friend and her friend's boyfriend. At one point I told my parents i didn't want to go to that friend's house and my parents thought i was trying to be difficult. Id already tried to tell my sister but she thought I was being overdramatic and that this guy we'd known since we were all in daycare could possibly want to do anything to me. That night he seriously injured me and after he left i tried to tell the friend and my sister but they didn't believe me until i started hyperventilating from the stress. The friend blamed me for ruining her relationship. After the school counselor heard all of this and how I'd been trying to end myself over it they suspended me and threatened to call the police on me. Eventually the police got involved but didn't do anything to help. I eventually went back to finish the school year and after that i was told to never come back. The 7th and onward grades were in a town 20 minutes away and I was told i could only attend if I agreed to some conditions. I enrolled in the alternative school a year later because my parents refused to put me in with the main population with the kids who still knew me from before. I ran into them occasionally when i would ride the bus or have to attend classes not available in the alternative school. I loved the staff at the a.s and they knew i wasn't the evil heathen the teachers and staff at the high school assumed. After i started having to do more at the main school some teachers there either saw me as a burden or got to know me apart from the rumors and separate from my older sister who was my complete opposite. I was actually bullied more from adults than people my own age. But at some point everyone id considered friends either graduated or proved to be shitty people so i had no one to defend me after my ex s.a me and put me in the hospital for a week. No one gave a shit and said i deserved it or according to the police it was nothing but a lover's quarrel and i was just trying to get revenge on him. They even told him about me trying to press charges. He knew I'd gone to the hospital and that id started dating someone else. I tried to avoid him and even had some of the staff or big metal heads who considered me a little sister escort me to classes or the bus. Eventually he got me alone and when i refused to take him back he assaulted me again. The only time he ever got in trouble was by the time i was in my senior year and he'd already graduated. And it was only because he finally got caught by the parent of a 5 year old girl. He didn't go to jail for very long and basically every time he went out he did something to screw it up. The last i heard he was living with his parents a few minutes away from the school. It's sad that the real evil people get a slap on the wrist and given special treatment while their victims are left to fend for themselves and be forever blamed for something they never asked to happen. P.S, evil ex was friends with the first guy who assaulted me. Stayed friends with him even after he found out what he'd done in the past. They even bonded after ex assaulted me and even spent some time in jail together.

If we have to wait another whole year for the season, that’s bullshit. Game of Thrones had FAR LARGER production and way larger scenes, and they didn’t even take this damn long to film. Sure, the last season sucked. But the earlier seasons were FANTASTIC and didn’t take anywhere near as long to film. Honestly, season 4 didn’t live up to how long we had to wait. And I feel like they’re creating a tall order for themselves. If season 5 isn’t flawless.. people are gonna be mad. “We waited so long for THIS?”. it just seems like they’re gonna ruin their own show by taking so unnecessarily long.

The book was average, I much prefer some of the fan fic to get my Eddie fix. Still holding out hope Eddie makes a return in season five, even if it’s a flashback scene.
This is why I wasn't interested in the book. I am very much an Eddie fan, but knowing the basic synopsis, it was obvious it would all have to come crashing down in order to fit with canon. - Including the love interest (which kinda seems like an author-insert character).
Honestly, I think I'll just stick with the fanfic...
I loved the book personally, but yeah, a lot of it just felt like it was ruined just to fit with the show’s canon, and I’m so mad cause I genuinely loved Paige.
