This is the closest we’ll get to Lucas having an extensive anime appearance, not just one-second cameos. And it’s technically not even him 😅
If the events of Legends Arceus still happened in the anime continuity, it might actually be him, considering it is heavily implied that Dawn and Lucas are the protagonist of Legends Arceus, while Rei and Akari are only the assistants.

Was pretty crazy seeing Heatran transform into a giant lava monster and for it to essentially turn into a Godzilla Meltdown situation where he could destroy Sinnoh if he goes off.
All because he was given the Flame Plate to hold.
Wonder if it means any pokemon we gave a plate to hold would go mad like that. (Frenzy heatran is it?)
Also we see noble pokemon hold plates in the legends arceus game

I honestly I just saw this as the "finale" of sorts for the Sinnoh Saga for Journeys that started with Dawn's initial return and left off with the Alternate Universe related set of episodes.
When watching it I kinda hoped that it would be set in Hisui, heck, maybe even Ash, Dawn, Brock and Goh could've been sent through the space time distortion while trying to save Hetran and that would've been absolutely amazing!!
But no we didn't.. and I was actually rooting for Team Galactic to get Cyrus and then Cynthia could've put them into custody but alas, it didn't happen
that's what I think aswell if only ash went back he could think Akari was Dawn and volo was cynthia

I don’t even remember hearing about that Garchomp kimono even once before the game came out. Maybe I forgot/didn’t care at the time, nobody talked about it or it wasn’t advertised very well. It looks pretty cool too wish I could’ve gotten it now
It was at the very end of every trailer related to Legends Arceus
I watched it in Japanese version and I think the Heatran turned Frenzy from the Flame Plate.
I feel like a plot with a character from the game brought to the future would’ve been cooler, or vice versa they get sent to the past and get a hisui pokemon

Seems like a missed opportunity to have the gang get accidentally trapped in the past just like us in PLA. And I agree, would have been been more interesting to see old timey Hisui
Would be neat to have our guys go to Hisui proper and catch Hisui Pokemon or even have their mons evolve into Hisui mons. Goh's got a Stantler, might as well.
I would really love to see an anime in which Dawn gets transported to the past and the whole Legends Arceus story happens
That's the problem with Journeys. They keep focusing on the past by bringing back old characters instead of focusing on the future. In fact, I think they glorify the nostalgia.
Just count how many times Journeys made references about the Gen 1 and you'll understand that problem even more

given that rei seems to be the local hisui rival character, since his house placement isn't right for him to be the protagonist, this means that if legends arceus took place within this timeline it would be dawn sent back in time to be the protagonist
I don't think it was dawn or the other one who got sent back, I think it was just someone who happened to look like them. Besides we don't know when the people who got sent back are from. could be one of their children for all we know.
PLA is part of the games continuity, not the anime
Hmm... wasn't it an actual plotpoint in the game (post-game part, I think) that Team Galactic was still around and searching for a way to get Cyrus back?
Yeah, I think so. I want to say it was part of Platinum’s post game which involved Mars and Jupiter going to Stark Mountain for Heatran? I forget why they were there exactly but it definitely had something to do with Cyrus.

Man i was hopong for an explosion from heatran that caused the time rift to open but everyone that was there ended up in the hisui region trying to find a way home
I still wished that Ash, Goh and Dawn would get to keep Rowlet, Cyndraquil and Oshawott after they have caught them in this episode because I though of the time that if they have as they evolved into Quilava, Dewott and Dartrix then they could accidently travel back in time the Hisui Region so they could evolved into Typhlosion's, Samurott's and Decidueye's Hisuain form.
I know Ash already got his own Rowlet but it already have shallow the everstone which it won't evolved, so I don't see why Ash can't catch a second Rowlet because if he had then he could train it and evolved into Dartrix and if Ash accidently travel back in time ti Huisan Region then there's a chance that Dartrix will evolved into Husian Decidueye. I also know that he already got both Quilava and Oshawott but if he could bring one of them back to his team then there's a chance that of them will evolved into Hisuain Typhlosion or Hisuain Samurott.
It would be interesting in the future Pokemon Journey episodes that Ash and Goh would accidentally travel back in time to the Hisuian Region and meet some Hisuian Pokemon like Zoroark, Braviary, Kleavor, Sneasler, Lilligant, Arcanine and Wyrdeer in anime. It would also be a great opportunity if Ash could to bring back his Rowlet (get rid of the Everstone),Oshawott and Quilava or perhap two of them so that they could evolved into Decidueye, Typhlosian and Samurott in Hisuian form but maybe in five or eight episodes in the time travel special.
i just realized since this was before the games, we could get one that actually has more Legends Arceus stuff, or just. a part episode of the journeys anime or whatever the next anime is since we DID get a dialga and palkia episode recently lmao
One thing I wish is that it was labeled as an actual Pokémon movie. One thing that was just great was the feeling of watching a Pokémon Movie again that wasn’t set in an alternate universe, like that last few we’ve gotten. I do kinda wish Goh had stayed back to battle so that we could see just the DP trio again, it wasn’t too annoying. The movie itself I think was very good, and I also wish we’d gotten some more scenes from the past, maybe another time travel situation, but I’m very happy with what we got and it’s just good to see a movie set in the series again. But there was no Team Rocket and I feel like we would’ve majorly benefited from seeing the team rivalry return.

I would’ve loved if they went back in time or if team galactic was doing a sinister experiment to force the ancient evolutions and forms to happen unnaturally it would’ve been so funny if dawn met akari and would be so confused why she looked like her lol but oh well still loved this episode
watched it when it came out in japan and just... Eugh is the best noise i have for it. i really wish they waited and gave us anything else for legends arceus. it deserved so much more than a special like a movie or even just an entire season to itself. the special itself is like a 2.5/10 at its best for me
it makes me sad knowing this is all the anime is doing for legends arceus..
Actually it was a Legends plate that corrupted Heatran not the flame plate.
I loved this special, with my only gripes being the absence of the hisui pokémon(although their extinct, so not much) and the last 10 minutes felt dragged out.
However, a special taking place on Hisui would be better personally.
They could've brought back oshawott quilava and rowlett for this special, which I think is the biggest missed fanservice moment.
I can never tell if this is a movie or an anime special. I’m so torn between the two.

watched it with my partner and he was like. "we could've had DPPt sequels instead of remakes. we could've had this plot instead." and now i wish we had sequels instead because he's so right
Hold up... They essentially made a sequel story to the events of DPP in a hour long anime special............ But not the game remakes?!?! Okay, yeah, sure. No, that's fine. That's perfectly fine!
Remakes have never been "sequels" to their original versions... but holy BDSP could have just been "Sinnoh ORAS" with a "Platinum Episode" and the Plat dex and not many people would have complained.. like sure the graphics had people unhappy but if the gameplay was not "OG DP except for the underground" people could have and would have overlooked that
@@BaconNuke B2W2, three years after DPP, is what I had in mind. When I say remakes, I mean they could have been a sequel instead. Not clear on my part. I'd honestly rather just replay Platinum just to avoid the stupid game breaking friendship mechanic.
Thought the film could've been better but it filled time when I was folding laundry. One aspect I thought was neat was the pokeball melting. I also heard the female V.A. for Domino (Rocket Grunt) as one of the red haired Galaxy Grunts; huge nostalgia rush. Haven't checked the imdb but I think it's the same voice actress.
Mars is indeed best girl.
Even people who pre-ordered from Amazon (like myself) didn't get the Kimono.
And I was able to get a functional code, but it fritzed out and the game now acts like I received it, when I didn't. I really appreciate the guy sending another code to me despite it not working.
Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if it not working properly was Amazon's fault as well.
I kinda wish the characters wore different kimono like Rowlet kimono for Ash, Cyndaquil for Goh and Oshawott for Dawn

I watched it and thought it was alright. I like how many game references they included. I do wish however it foccused more on Hisui and having it be movie instead of a special where they go back in time though. I also didn't really like how they blended the Heatran plot with the Hisui plot though as i feel they could have been 2 different specials.
All and all i give it a 7/10

I thought this show was awesome and shocking because of the surprise appearances of Brock and Team Galactic because I saw a little bit of images of the special and it never occurred to me that Team Galactic would return.

I really would have liked a sort of Hisui arc if only to give Ash all three starters from that game. He has their pre-evolved forms so maybe there could be some sort of space-time distortion to let them evolve into the new forms...
I mean, Goh already has all three starters from Galar, giving all three Hisui starters to Ash would have been a nice compensation.
It just feels like a missed opportunity given how popular Legends Arceus is at the time. You'd figure they'd want to promote that stuff in the anime a little more...
On that note, aside from the three starters which Hisui Pokemon do you guys think would suit Ash best?
Personally I think he'd bond well with Zoroa and Braviary.

I already know that, I was pointing out how they could have brought them back and evolve them into their new forms to promote the games.
Pokémon focusing on bdsp rather than legends are us really didn’t make sense to me gen 4 was already one of the most popular gens would have gotten more people by exploring new lore
tbh I think the movie was not that good it was mostly revolving around Heatran and that's it has nothing to do with hisuin Pokemon and Arceus just pulls up for 5 minutes and then leaves and now I'm starting to believe that Cyrus's actually dead

When I first watched this I thought that Ash and Goh and maybe Dawn we’re going to get sent into the past and at some point nearer the end they were going to battle Volo and he would summon Giratina but when I actually watched it I was very disappoint😞
I feel like this movie had so much more potential but they chose one of the worser things for this movie to be based on. I did like watching the movie it’s just not what I would’ve liked to see or expected.😅

Aside from the moments from the first special episode, they really missed the chance with this one. They should have focus entirely in those specials on the past were Rei (Teru) is the main protagonist (like it was the case of Pokémon Chronicles set in Johto).
2/8 - for me since the Pokemon Legends Arceus is the best pokemon game for me in last 20 years.
PS. However if you only look at it as a solo Pokemon Journey Special I would rate it 5/8.

Saw this at Worlds and on Netflix (the latter mostly to see if I could rate it more precisely that just the thumbs). Pretty severely underwhelmed-didn’t feel like the various elements gelled and the Gen 4 callbacks didn’t do much for me, despite liking that generation overall. Better luck next time I guess.
What sucks is unlike ash greninja they didn’t give us a code to get this kind of heatran in legends arceus or something and also I wish arceus talked like the movie back then it’s obviously canon they know who arceus is so why doesn’t he talk

The movie is really good by itself showing team galactic, other characters and heatran but the Hisui part does not fit the movie at all and was just a little part of it not being to important to the actual plot

it was a pretty disappointing special. I was at LEAST expecting Ash and co to have to travel back in time in order to save the present type of scenario. but we got absolutely NOTHING of the sort. this was just a continuation of the BDSP special but had nothing special to make it memorable. and as this is a special the pokemon they caught DON'T even COUNT EITHER.
This didnt felt like a Legends Arceus special, is just a nostalgia bait for the Diamond and Pearl anime fans, wouldve been a Legends Arceus special if Ash and Goh traveled to the past or something, or better, to have Lucas as protag of this special, like Ethan I mean Jimmy in Raikou special, wouldve been better than this "Legends Arceus Anime"
