    Will definitely give it a try! I accumulated a lot of duplicate tracks over the years of downloading music from different sources and libraries. Some track duplicates can be found in separate folders and have multiple file types. This is a great tool for cleaning up large collections!! As usual, you are a wizard! Thank you!

    Yesterday, I used RCT for the first time. I used it to perform a scan for duplicate files. RCT found none, Hooray!
    Then I checked the Orphan Playlist, only to discover that my whole collection, save for about thirty tracks, were in the Orphan Playlist.
    I have two regular playlists that I use as "set lists", the rest are "smart playlists". All my tracks are in one or more smart playlists.
    Is it safe to say that RCT will always show tracks that are in smart playlists in Orphan Playlist?

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před 8 měsíci

      The Orphan playlist is populated with tracks that are not in any normal playlist. Smart playlists are formula's which are executed in real time and hence dynamic in nature. That's why RCT does not check if a track is in a smart playlist.

    What is the correct way to deal with Duplicate Sets that are not duplicates. e.g. Instrumentals that where detected as duplicates!?

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Just remove the set and it will not be processed. That is the exact reason why I did give full user control over what is being processed.

    Does RCT work with Rekordbox 7? I've just purchased it. Thanks!

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před měsícem +1

      Yes it works with both Rekordbox 6 and 7 because they use the exact same database.

    Just downloaded the software and ran it multiple times while watching the tutorial. I am still seeing many many duplicates in my collection. What am I doing wrong?

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před 5 měsíci

      you need to process the duplicates (and make sure you know what you process)

  • @ClarkWohlert

    Excellent Tool. In fact i did not buy it to find duplicates in my small (6k) Library but anyway it found 140 🤣 and RCT cleaned up very well.
    What i was hoping for was that i can also manually select tracks to be merged. I excessively use the edit mode and modify tracks to my need. I usually delete the original track then. This is not a problem when doing it with new tracks but now i have startet to also edit a lot of older tracks and i would then like to merge the playlists so the edited tracks will apear in an old playlist where i originally played the original track.
    Can i achieve ths by manually put those track into a "master" ans "duplicate" playlist?

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před 5 dny

      RCT can still do this look over here Change audio type keep all cues, loops, grid and other DJ metadata.
      czcams.com/video/9qUrncAdkj4/video.html
      Important: the artist, title and length of the "track pairs" must be matching!

    • @ClarkWohlert
      @ClarkWohlert Před 5 dny

      @@MixMasterG great hint, i will check this BUT off course my edited Tracks will have a different length and to distinguish my edit from the original i usually add "rb_edit" to the track name. I found that when RCZ analysys for doubles the trackname at least does not have to match. I will doublecheck if it works for my usecase and if not come back to you with a feature request 😊

    • @ClarkWohlert
      @ClarkWohlert Před 5 dny

      @@MixMasterG so here is good news. I found a Workaround. I just deleted tracks from "Master" and "Dublicate" Lists and replaced them by an Edited and original Track that i wanted to get merged and RCT just did it. This is an easy way to exactly do what i was looking for.

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před 5 dny

      @@ClarkWohlert yes but also a tricky one, because it will try to convert cues/loops/analysis data too and for tracks different in length this can be tricky

    • @ClarkWohlert
      @ClarkWohlert Před 5 dny

      @@MixMasterG not a problem because first off all rekordbox itself takes all the cues from the original track to the edit and my tags as well but unfortunatly not the playlists. RCT does merge the playlists which is important for me. Even if some Cue might be "damaged" not a deal for me. It is less work to correct those than checking all the playlist stuff. I will go on working with that workaround and let you know if there are any kind of issues. Thanks for listening and taking care !!

    Hello, is there a solution for Windows users?

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před 4 měsíci +2

      One of the questions I'm frequently asked is, "Will there ever be a Windows version of my tools?"
      To be completely candid, the answer is a firm "no." This decision isn't motivated by any operating system preferences; it's a much simpler matter. The majority of support inquiries I receive are related to the operating system rather than the application itself. Unfortunately, my knowledge of Windows is limited compared to my expertise in supporting macOS. While I recognize that making my tools available on Windows could benefit many artists and potentially increase revenue, I've had to make a choice due to my resource constraints. I've chosen to prioritize maintaining a strong reputation for going the extra mile to support users of my tools, and I simply can't provide that level of support on the Windows platform.
