    Really like this feature I usually use ableton for this kind of thing but when I just want to take out an intro or something it is so much easier and quicker this way!

    Wow this is a game changer for me so that I can make some quick re-edits of tracks for my mini-sets and as a workaround for a rekordbox version of serato's flip function. Thanks DDJT

      Not possible in RB right now, but it is in Serato and Virtual DJ, for instance.

    Hey guys another great video thank you for this…quick question, I wanted your input on the Mashup 2 through Mixed in Key if you’ve used it before, and if it’s any good for editing for mashups and it’s capabilities, since the price tag is pretty cheap on it I figured I’d ask you guys about it!     i do a lot of editing in i movie which as you know comes free when you buy a mac.Having an editing feature in the software is rather good

      @@digitaldjtips yes sometimes i have a music file with a video i dont like so i can detach the vdeo and delete it then i can edit the audio on its own.Or i just need the audio for a mix i did for Mixcloud so i can detach the video and maybe edit the start and ends sometimes because with the video there might be a lead in or out which is a bit long and with no sound using titles and video effects that on a Mixcloud audio mix wont be needed.I also find it useful for fixing little mistakes in a mix and editing and tidying up.I prefer using i movie to audacity.I just seen to get much more work done and i have usually got better results though audacity does have one or two features that sometimes prove useful like getting an overall even sound and equalizing left and right channels if something went wrong on that but mostly i find I movie quick and easy to use.Also i like the speed function and the transitions though i need some new ones .I have been using the same stuff over and over for some time now.Video, audio separate or together i like using I movie.

    Hi, not sure if this was mentioned but you must be a Rekordbox PLAN (excluding Free plan) subscriber to be able to export. (You can't with a free plan and I'm yet to try if it's possible with a Hardware unlocked Plan)

      @@digitaldjtips Thank you for the tutorial, this has allowed me to create an amazing edit in few clicks... then I hit the export limitation, will see if I use hardware unlock will allow me to export my edit.

    Which is better - Serato Studio or Rekordbox 6.0 ?

      They are not the same as one is DJ software and one is production software

      Probably better comparing this editing functionality with Serato Flip an add on for Serato Pro, flip is better in my view as you can just do it on the fly as your actually playing your DJ set as it remembers your Hotcue sequences for the given track.
      You can create 8 separate versions of a Track and it doesn't take up the space of 8 different tracks like Recordbox edits would, you just load your track and select which version of it you want to play, as simple as selecting a saved loop.

    Hi Phil when using edit in rekordbox is there anyway to cut small sections out of they are only half a beat or less? If not what program could I used? I looked at ableton but that’s way to much for me. I just need something simple that has beat grids but let’s me edit finer margins

      It's not a question of "good". Audacity can do far, far more. It is really a question of "convenient". For really quick edits, this will take seconds.

    Thanks for the video i tried it super easy and fast. But it won't let me save. The rendering is locked. How do i unlock this? I have a pioneer ddj s7 which unlocks rekordbox and i don't want a monthly subscription. Any help on this thanks.

    Nice! I just got my controller and it came with Rekordbox. The question is how can I even find songs to work on without violating copyright? There is nothing out there that I can use from streaming services. Or am I wrong?

      @@digitaldjtips You mean owned music as I purchased and downloaded or literally made my own music? I downloaded some "copyright free" music from Hypeddit but still not sure if I can just edit those, make remixes and upload them on CZcams etc.

    I do re-edits like this from time to time using Traktors remix decks. Using the remix decks to chop up the track. When saving all the samples as a remix set you get all the each individual file so you can copy & paste then join them together in Audacity.
    Just another way of doing it.!

      They're basically just additional effects for you to creative with, Pioneer make standalone effects units and it's the FX from this device

    If Rekordbox would allow you to pay one flat fee upfront. I would jump on it right away. But until then, I think Ableton 10 Suite will do the job for me.🤣

      @@maus3454 same! I really think pioneer has been dropping the ball lately. If all the new rekordbox 6 features (edit mode, cloud library sync, etc) were available for the same price as rekordbox 5, there would be no reason to use other dj software or switch to denon. Might be less money but I think the user base would grow way more

    Shame you can't use this to change the BPM of tracks. Like I want speed up some Acapellas but doing them in Ableton takes more time than it would take to just open this up and change the number
