Thank you for the lovely tribute -- here are words written by my uncle, who was part of the liberation of Paris. "Company B 81st now assigned to the 4th Infantry Division came into Paris on the 25th of August 1944. It was an exhilarating unforgettable experience. Thousands of Parisians greeted us with cheers, flowers, wine etc; and kisses from the girls. Another climactic day in my life. It soon ended as the 4th Division had moved on into the northeast environs of Paris receiving resistance and taking casualties." Always remember.

Bonjour from New York! I will be visiting Paris during Christmas week this year and I have made note of a few of these rooftops...very helpful. I also want to truly thank you for the beautiful and thoughtful ending to this video. I am second generation American by way of my grandparents emigrating here from Italy. My father was only 20 years old when he was given a Purple Heart in WWII. Thank you for showing respect to the military.

When I was a poor student/ au pair in Paris 50+ years ago, I used to love to go to the roof-top terrace at La Samaritaine. C’est dommage that now only very wealthy people can enjoy that view.

Yes!! That's the first thing that I thought of when I saw the title of the video. I used to go up there occasionally myself as I was a flight attendant and was in Paris frequently back then. I was just back last month and sad to see it no longer there. Cheers!

very good tips for my travel, thank you! I think there's another building to suggest: the Tour Montparnasse, just in front of the Tour Eiffel it guarantees the best views in Paris, especially at night

Than you yet again for another great video! I especially appreciate the info re La Tour Saint-Jacques because I was unaware of it and I want to see a Paris I haven't seen before. Also, thank you for the beautiful tribute at the end of the video! That generation of men and women who fought overseas and supported the war effort at home were America's greatest generation.

It has always surprised me to see how so few people knew that we could climb to the roof of Tour Saint Jacques for such a beautiful panorama...

Thank you very much for an outstanding video! I was so glad to see the American Cemetery in Suresnes featured. Not enough Americans go and visit this place. When I was there this summer, the guest book had but one visitor a day for the last few weeks. What a shame!
I also visited and took a tour of Mont Valerian, right up the street from the American Cemetery. This is a little known and visited fortress where were kept resistance fighters and Nazi "hostages" during the war. The guide explained the difference. Both groups were executed there. If anybody has any interest in WW2 history concerning Paris, Mont Valerian is well worth a visit!
IMHO both the American Cemetery and Mont Valerian are a good day's visit - maybe someday you could do a video regarding both?
Also, very close to Paris is the American Monument at Chateau-Thierry (Belleau Woods) - the place where, during WW1, the German Army got the closest to Paris and where they were stopped by two regiments of US Marines. The battlefield is still there and kept intact. It's only about 60 km east of Paris and an incredibly beautiful monument/cemetery.

Fantastic video!!! We were just in Paris for our first time in May. I wish your video was available before we visited. That said, you have inspired us to go back. You did an amazing job showing both the locations and the views. I expect that we will look at this video several times in the coming months. BTW - we visited Sacre Coeur and I absolutely recommend climbing the tower. Especially on a clear blue day as in this video. Well done!

Did already a few you listed , but if I have to pay for them I'll pass (+/-) . Maybe park Butte de chaumont "Temple de la Sybille" is another one but definitely Parc de Saint-Cloud at the Highest point of view. Thanks for the upload.
The whole area around the temple de la Sybille is unfortunately closed, for a long time, I guess, as it was not safe anymore to go there...

I'm returning to Paris this coming November for a slightly shorter stay - 6 nights as opposed to 8 last November. Thank you for yet another super video which continues to educate. Please keep them coming! Not mentioned here (except in passing) because you have to pay, but do you think the Tour Montparnasse is worth visiting?

Yes, the view from the top of Montparnasse is beautiful, especially at sunset, with the Eiffel Tower in the foreground.
Not in this video because it is much more expensive!

For the moment, my bad, only 15€, but that's because they have closed the terrace until further notice, then decreased the price. You can only go up to the 56th floor, glazed and less interesting

I used to love to go to the top of "La Samaratine" for a free view of central Paris. There was also a small cafe. Is it no longer available to the general public?
No, this part of la Samaritaine is now a 5-star hotel, le Cheval Blanc. It belongs to the same group, LVMH, than La Samaritaine
Two other rooftops are the Arc de triomphe (13 €) and Tour Montparnasse (from 18 €). Compared to your great tipps it's not in the category affordable. I will try some of them on my next visit to Paris.
Yes, they are great too, but, as you say, pricier.

"Expect a line here too...". Oh dear... After visiting Paris recently after several years, I was shocked by the number of lines. Pretty much everywhere it seems to me. I was used to see lines on Saturday and Sundey, so I visited during the week and left on Friday evening, but now, there seems to be no escape. It would be great if you could attempt a video for shopping without lines, if there is such a thing anymore... As far as I remember, many luxury houses have branches in other parts of the city, so what are the alternatives to queuing for hours for Goyard and others in Rue Faubourg St. Honore? (I hope you will not send me to Biarritz 😉)
I guess the lines for these brands boutiques in Le Bon Marché would be shorter. At least, it's the case for Chanel. But they will have less choice.

Yes, the Shoah Memorial can be interesting and also the Memorial des Martyrs de la Déportation, at the eastern tip of Ile de la Cité.
But then, "Paris is a moveable feast" as Hemingway wrote, so I would not like to recommend you only sad places.
