Ultimate Paris Travel Guide: 10 Must-Know Tips For Travelers 👉 bit.ly/10MustKnowBeforeYouGo
Based on your videos, I booked my first ever trip to Paris and had the most wonderful time. It seems incredible to me that the average stay for tourists is 3 to 4 days. I stayed a week and would have preferred a month! I know about ten French words but they are the right ones. Politeness is key. A proper greeting and Merci can take you a long way. I felt completely safe at all. hours of the day and night. I'm a senior and mostly invisible to people here in the states. Young people in Paris gave up their seat on the metro to let me sit, or held doors open for me. They were incredibly courteous. Yes, there was the one person inside the airport offering to take my luggage to their taxi. I knew to avoid that and go to the taxi stand, and avoid people wanting me to sign a petition and donate. Other than that, no issues, . Merci Les Frenchies for giving me the confidence to go on my great adventure. Next year will be a longer stay!
Go girl! Every time you go back, it’s a different experience. Try all different neighbourhoods. After a few short visits, I went there for three weeks and it wasn’t enough.
where did you stay? did you enjoy your hotel/accomodation?
@@FreshGrey-pm4vw La Chambre du Marais. Yes, It was perfect, like staying in a velvet covered jewel box. I booked online direct with the hotel. Good location, bilingual staff, quiet and cozy.
I know you had a great visit. I did a 3 week solo European trip from Vienna to Paris in 2018 - as a retired senior woman. My last 5 days were in Paris, and although I had been there 3 times before, there is so much to see. However, this last trip, I really slowed down - walked miles every day sometimes aimlessly, spent more time sitting outdoors at cafes, and eating whatever I wanted. 😁
@@FreshGrey-pm4vw I stayed at La Chamber du Marais. Lovely boutique hotel, recommended by Les Frenchies. See their video on Best Boutique hotels. I tell everyone it was like staying in a velvet covered jewel box. I booked directly with them online and included breakfast. Perfect eggs and bilingual staff. Can't wait to go back.
As a parisian i think every tourists that come to Paris should see your video about scams and things to know before going here. I would also like to say that Paris is quiet safe for local, less safe for tourists but still very safe. My best advice is to always be aware and to detect weird people around you ib touristic spots like museums or airports
Just to add if you have a handicap card, bring it with you. You can use it skip the line for popular museums and even save your pay for tickets (you and your partner).
I was in Paris in July and all your tips are spot on...I found saying Bonjour and an opening sentence in French was easy and the locals appreciated the effort.
My first time in France I knew about 25 words of French. The next time that I traveled to France I knew a little more than 125 words, and I had a much better experience. I traveled to other cities, and often communicated in a combination of French and English.
Having visited Paris on several occasions- great advice and great video 😊 My tip would be, rather than asking if a person speaks English (which can be seen as somewhat impolite), simply start every conversation with "Bonjour, je suis désolé, je ne parle pas français. Je suis... (insert your nationality)- "Hello, I'm sorry, I don't speak French, I am..."- then continue in whatever fractured French you may have. Generally, if the person with whom you are speaking speaks English (better than your French), they will, very quickly, speak English to you if you are having difficulties. It shows your respect for the language and the culture which the French tend to appreciate.
If you are doing Duolingo - the french podcast or the audio lessons are the way to go for quickly learning some conversational elements. The regular lessons are a much slower way of building vocabulary!
You two both made our trip to Paris so so much better, Thank you!
I'm a parisian living & born and I can say that 90% of the advices are very accurate. :-)
What's wrong with the 10%?
@@kaushiksahu5646(french never give the maximum mark because "it always can be better", the school systeme is like that)
@@karwaktorink you are so right
My husband surprised me with a trip to Paris for my birthday! Your videos have helped me so much with planning! Thank you!
I speak enough French but my brothers don’t when we visit . The number one advise for non French speakers is to learn hello, please, and thank you. Keep your mouth closed on the Métro . Keep your voice down. No one wants to hear your conversation. It’s uncouth and disrespectful to be loud! Always say Bonjour when you walk in any café or shop. You must acknowledge the people working there or you will get the cold shoulder. Bonjour is the magic word! 🙂
Every week, you always leave me wanting more....thank you for all your quality work, passion and content on Paris and France.
Leaving for Paris tomorrow for the first time. I cannot thank you enough for all of your helpful videos!

Great tips as always! thanks!
I have stayed in Belleville whilst on holiday from Scotland for over 12 years. Belleville is very cosmopolitan and has a cool vibe. The transport is fantastic and the prices are good.
Leaving tomorrow for vacation to Germany to see family & Paris for 6 nights and 5 days! I’ve watched your videos over and over the past 6 months and you’ve been extremely helpful. This is a dream come true for me 😍 Thank you so very much!!!!

I've already looked up the bistro with the profiteroles, it's on my list for next time! Thanks!
Good information, thanks for sharing!!!!
The info in this video is very helpful. Merci.
Just one thing: the electric plugs are the same throughout Europe. You only need a separate adapter for the UK and Ireland.
Another great, informative video. Merci
Thanks for this wonderful video n for sharing d ten things u need to know before u come to Paris, France.
@@LesFrenchiesTravel 😁
You English is just superb, I've learnt few words here. Thanks !
Thank you! I want to go to Paris one day in the future and this gives me hope to make my dream come true. Although I have hopes and dreams of seeing other parts of Europe, these are useful tips and I can’t wait to go hopefully in a few years from now! Thanks for the tips!
Fantastic video! All your tips are excellent. In particular regarding the language. In many videos, derogatory comments, complaining that French people don't speak English. Well I don't expect the English, the German or in any other foreign countries that they speak French. It always surprises me. Anyway, Both of you are doing a great job❤️🌷
Merci pour les bons conseils.
I love you guys, keep up the videos! Michael in Portland, Oregon. Vive La France
You covered most of the questions usually asked especially dress comfortable and in layers. I always advise to bring a waterproof coat/jacket. Through May, weather is temperate but can get rather cold or cool and it can rain anytime but that should not dampen your fun. The other tip maybe over looked was not to over pack as tourists almost always shop and come home with lots more than they came with sometimes having to buy another suitcase. We did that more than once as shopping is great in Paris especially in small local boutiques. Have fun!
Very helpful as always...
I am going to Paris in a few days. You guys did a wonderful job, THANK YOU
Thanks - brilliant content! Thinking of going to Paris in May, 2023.
Very informative video. Excellent!
I was so happy to find your channel. It's wonderful! I live in NJ and
I have never been to Paris, in fact I've never been to Europe. Though I planned to for decades.
But life got in the way.
I started to believe I would never get there.
The two of you have made me enthusiastic again.
I need to go before I get too old.
Thanks! 💚
@@LesFrenchiesTravel Thank You!
Thank you for your tips and videos! I'm pretty sure they help many peoplel (Brazilians like me, including) to discover this charming city!
Allez, on y va
Going to paris nxt week... your videos are really helpful❤️❤️
Very helpful!
Excellent. Thanks.
Another terrific video, great info about the phone!
Love your videos. You’ve put so much work into them! Any advice about the bedbug situation? What has been your experience been?
google translate was the most amazing thing for my very first trip to paris. i felt so comfortable because of it . it translates everything in real time. going to the grocery store was so easy using it 😃
i love your videos so much! i’ve been binging them to plan my next trip. thank you for all your information!
I love your video, I lived with my parents as a teenager...but it's amazing how things have changed in Paris, i see it through your posts and how the food too has become more multi cultural, even to see people eating in the street/street food is amazing because as youngster that was a no no...walking around the Blvd eating food. A Table was the rule....again you posts are great. A great video would be for the disabled/and the accessibility.
Fully agree! We used to travel to Paris a lot (via Eurostar) and found that taking a wheelchair around Paris is quite uncomfortable across the (many) cobblestone streets (pavés). A shame really, as Paris such a walkable city otherwise. A practical disabled guide/commentary from a local perspective would be really handy, although we accept it would not be easy for a non-disabled person to comment effectively. Love this channel, btw! 🫶🇫🇷👩🦽
We just returned from a trip in July and it was so fun. The people were wonderful and so patient and kind. The RATP app was super helpful with the Metro if we were trying to get someplace at a specific time, and also noted if certain lines weren’t running (like during the last stage of the Tour de France). We used Navigo Easy cards and the station agent helping us set them up spoke a little English so with my little French, we did just fine. I cannot wait to return and explore more. So much history, so many croissants, never enough time. We also (not on purpose) did a speed run in the Louvre and saw all our “must see” pieces in 30 minutes! We stayed for longer after that but it can be done! The Paris Museum Pass is great.
We are hoping to go in 2023. How was it in July and how long did you stay? What was your favorite neighborhood?
@@MarcellinaMoon so fun! It was warm but not too bad. We had just come from the UK where they experienced the hottest day ever recorded so anything felt better than that! The evenings got cool. We were find in light coats, then took them off as the day went on. We were there for four nights and it was good for us as we were visiting many places but I could spend a solid month there. We stayed in the Marais and I really enjoyed it. Lots of activity so even at night it felt fine. Lots of great restaurants and things to see and do. Just a note: we were there towards the end of July and noticed a lot of restaurants were starting their August holiday the last week in July. Not all, but a number of neighborhood places. We found PLENTY to eat at but just a note. Have the best time!
@@sarah-phillips thank you for your reply and help! We are thinking of going in early September because that's our wedding anniversary so I imagine it would be a bit cooler then and hopefully not as crowded. It will be our first time there and I have wanted to go to Paris since I was a small child! It's so exciting to even think about it. Thank you again!
Great video Les Frenchies! Your tips are well researched & very helpful to the novice & experienced tourist alike! Keep up the excellent vlogs- we look forward to them every wk!
Another great video! Never let language be a problem. It feels like the stereotype of Parisiens is changing all the time and language is less and less of an issue. Learn some French phrases, say Bonjour and enjoy your adventure.
Amazing video as usual. Anytime is certainly the right time for Paris!! Recommend people research any fees that might be associated with using their credit or debit card overseas. Some banks and credit card companies charge a flat fee or percentage on international transactions, usually quantified as an 'exchange fee' on your statement. I recommend finding a card that specifically does not charge these fees (personally use Capital One Sapphire) because Les Frenchies are correct - you'll use your card almost everywhere. Equally important is calling to notify your bank and credit card companies of when you'll be internationally traveling so they don't automatically flag your card or decline a transaction as fraudulent during your travels abroad.
As a french citizen, for gratuity I would say that even if service is included, it is a bit stingy to leave nothing at all. A normal service would deserve 1/2€ and good service would deserve +3€.
Your videos helped me and my family enjoy Paris so much! Thank you. I look forward to a return w a friend or two soon. I share your videos w potential travel buddies.
Good overall advice. When it comes to hotels, I would always choose one that offered a good breakfast as part of the daily rate.
Just found out your channel 15 mins ago and I definitely love it. Subscribed!! Greetings from Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭✨💫… cheers! 🥂
THANK YOU
Another great video! Was there early May and it was perfect. Cannot wait to return. Your videos are so informative. How did your get together go? I believe it was for an anniversary.
50,000 subscribers!! You deserve it and many more. 😀👍🍷here’s to 1 million 🥳
I love visiting Europe in winter. To us, it is easier to get warm than to get cool. You'd be surprised how many hotels don't have AC.
Those are all of the things I'm thinking about. Not worried. Been there before.
You're a lovely lady. Thank you for your video. I'm planning a trip to Europe. Merci Beaucoup!
After watching several of your videos, I realize you are in my top 10 excellent videos. For the reason that you do not have the annoying precursors of telling viewers to subscribe and to like the video. The length of your videos is excellent. They are "chewable" sizes and do not have too much information crammed in. Or not too long with unnecessary fluff. Thank you! Or shall I say merci beaucoup :)
I agree 😊
Excellent video.
Heading to Paris in October, first/second week, what should I plan to wear?
I’ve watched a lot of your videos and you talked about summer and winter weather but not about fall.
Thank you! Love your videos!
Your videos are so educational and easy to watch ! I marked my google map with the point you mentioned in Paris and around. I wish somebody would do a similar video about Frankfurt, cannot find anything a good one ...
❤ Thank you
Another great video! One thing I will just add is to look at which of the Paris/Euro banks are connected to your bank in the US. An example is that BOFA is connected with BNP Paribas and thus when you need cash from an ATM, you will not pay any transaction fee when you use the connecting bank in Pairs. :)
Graat, informative video. It's nicely laid out, easy to follow.
Thank you. Enjoy your travels!
I stayed at the Warrick Hotel in Paris and Hotel staff was outstanding.
You guys have fantastic content....
