I think the small finds are some of the best finds. Seeing the detonators for the hand grenades made me wonder if the grenades were assembled on site? One of the best parts of your videos is when you explain and show pictures of the items you found. You just don’t say wow, we found a detonator and then move on to something else. If your viewers aren’t watching your videos completely they are missing so much. Thanks for bringing us history and teaching us the history.
I agree , the smallest details kind of gives me the biggest challenges to put it into context :)
I love the way you go from the actual find to the explanation of it. I am learning, and that is awesome! Thanks for being such a great teacher of all things WW2!
How cool Cynthia and more 2 come very soon. Thanks.
Cynthia Swearingen I study World War Two and it’s very interesting. I can’t really go find stuff like they do because I live in the U.S.A so I would have to go to Alaska or Hawaii or go to the U.K and places like that.
Love the way you go from the field to the office to show your finds and explain them.. many many thanks from Nottingham UK
All my pleasure and thanks Roxanne
great video and great work on id'ing those items! thanks for sharing!
Pete
Glad you liked it. Thanks
Awsome find . And the descriptions of the items always great to see. 👍
All my pleasure my friend.
In the military I worked with explosives, detonators, fuses, warheads and grenades - memories to compare to my memories - great fun and happiness in this for me!
There you go and thanks James :)
Love your videos, keep up the great work from Sydney Australia.

Another great video! Thank you my friend!
Very glad to read and thanks my friend.
Great video's!!! Stumbled across your challenge a few weeks ago and am hooked!!
Think the white/aluminum cap looking thing at 9:53 is a SHIPPING PLUG (or fuse well cap). Shipping plugs are used to protect fuse wells on land mines and other types of explosives. The plugs would help keep dirt and other foreign objects out of the fuse wells. Unscrew the plug; insert fuse OR unscrew fuse; replace plug. I was a Combat Engineer in US Army for 20 years and handled all kinds of explosives, and that was my first thought when I saw that white/aluminum cap.
How great to read and i actually found out just that later after some Research. Now i have found a lot of them as well so you are totally right James. Thanks fo rsharing and for watching
James Bednar. Great identification work. I found 3 of these over the last year and never knew what they were. Great to finally understand what they were for. 👍 Thanks.

Thanks Jeffrey
Looking forward to seeing more . Thanks 👍👍👍👍
You bet robert , more to come soon
8:24 It looks a bit like part of a barbed wire spool. We had to do working parties in the forces usually mid winter! Laying new barbed wire was one of them and it came on spools like this? 15:08 rare to find 'potato masher' grenade parts. Was this perhaps an 'ordnance depot' where they assembled munitions for the troops? Like a forward base? 19:14 🤔 Hmmm this reinforces my theory of an 'ARMOURY' unit making ordnance for the troops and special operations? FANTSTICHE!! Excellent my friend. Another fascinating film.
Ammo storage around there yes and thanks for watching.
My Uncle fought in Europe during WW2 and in one area he was in he found that the Germans were using captured Russian Detonators he defused a mine and brought it home as a souvenir just before he passed away he gave it to Me I still have it and I agree with You that History is Great!
Thanks for sharing and for being here. Greetings from us.

Yet another great video with great finds. When you showed the map, I thought at first glance it said German Beer storage at 2.39. Must be my tired old eyes lol.
He he , well there was probably that there as well :) Thanks.

Thanks for watching!
Always great content... Keep up the great work. Sorry to hear about the lyme disease, hopefully you caught it early.
Feeling much better now. Thanks and Greetings from us.
Quite a few detonators on this trip. The parameter dance post is a nice 'line in the sand' feature. At least you know what side to dig on 👍🏻 those lead seals are fascinating! I've never thought about how if at all they would security seal items. A first type of find for you no? Also, well done with your print out comparisons. It's hairy much clearer when these are teamed up together. Great pleasure to view your efforts as ever. Be well. Happy trails 😊👏🏻👍🏻✌🏻
Great locationa dn thanks for watching.
Great video, you never let us down. I can't wait to see what you find in your next post. Be safe out there my friend.
Thanks Allen
@@WW2HistoryHunter it's a honor to watch your videos, I just wish I could help more than just watching and liking your videos. always looking forward for the next episode
My grandma died in 2010, she was born in 1920. I was too little to realize that she went through the depression and world war 2. She wasn’t American either, she was German. When world war 2 started and America entered the war, she moved to America. When I was little and I would get in trouble she would yell at me in German. Wow, I wish I had the chance to ask her more questions. Rip Geraldine Hoferth. Thank you for making this video, I am so fascinated in World War Two stuff. By the way I am 15 years old.
Thanks for sharing and appreciate Your comment and for watching. Greetings from us.
Thanks. Enjoyed seeing those items.

With a detector you sometimes suffer from disturbance of other materials.
A beautiful adventure.
Glad you like it and thanks for Your kind support and great comments.
Wow, some great stuff. Please be careful. Fuses can become unstable over the years, I would hate to see you lose a finger or two during your exploration's. Thanks for a great trip.

I also watch on CZcams a channel called " The History Guy : History Deserves To Be Remembered " he does videos about 5 - 15 minutes long on mostly pieces of forgotten history on all kinds ! Keep up the great work also just for thought is to find original photos of the area during operational times and super impose over the video a few samples on CZcams just food for thought 😎
Well i have some from different locations but it all Depends on wether they have a function in the material .Thanks
very cool video.. keep it up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Daniel
The old x cross bar was for the super secret German flat panel TVs. The purpose was to see the fuhrer in high definition 😉lol
Thanks for watching.
Hello history hunter.
I love the way you interact with your fans. I could almost be there with you.
Highly appreciate Your comment and thanks for watching.
Hey WW2 History Hunter. You inspire many and me too. In fact, so much so that I want to invest in metal detector and equipment. But what is the best thing to start with and where is it best to buy ..? Keep up with what you do and together we all keep the story alive.
look at used machines in local media i think and don buy a complex machine. Thanks
Nice finds
thank you my friend.
Enjoyed this very much and subscribed. But I would be a bit worried if my first find was a S mine fuse
He he , they are everywhere :) Thanks
Very very exciting for both of us!
Thank you Buz.
I don’t know why it won’t except my comments sometimes. I have to go back to the play list after watching the video and then go back into the video to comment. It’s strange and only happens on a few. The give away that this area was a munitions storage depot is the many types of munitions and fuses your find. It’s amazing that you can still see the stampings on the items after they have been in the ground for so long. I wonder how many of these locations were attacked and captured by the Allies? Many great finds.
yes , interesting place that is and i think there are lots more there to be found. Thanks Anthony.
Great finds metal detecting.
Indeed so William and greetings from us :)
👍👍👍👍👍💜💜💜💜love the small details
Thank you Wendy :)
of coarse a great vid nothing but the best from our friend and family
Thanks my friend.
Great video again would love to come on your journeys with you
Thanks for watching.
9.5 kilos...Now I gotta do math...carry the 1...move the decimal....20.9439 lbs.
Greetings from Texas! Fun fact: Texas had the largest numbers of German POW's during WWII. No other state even came close.
Texas had approximately twice as many POW camps as any other state, first because of the available space, and second, curiously, because of the climate. The Geneva Convention of 1929 requires that prisoners of war be moved to a climate similar to that where they are captured; apparently it was thought that the climate of Texas is similar to that of North Africa. In August 1943 there were already twelve main camps in Texas, and by June 1, 1944, there were thirty-three. At the end of the war Texas held 78,982 enemy prisoners, mainly Germans, at fourteen military installation
Thanks for great comment and for sharing and watching.
Greetings from Perth Western Australia, Great Videos
What did you do with the live mortar round?
well , it all depends on location and circumstances i guess. Thanks for watching.
some fantastic finds there ,,
Thanks for watching.
From what I could find, the cartridge with the red ring around the primer could be a S.m.K. L'spur - Spitzgeschoß mit Kern Leuchtspur ("spitzer with core tracer") - red circular groove, black bullet point-German tracer bullets .
Thanks for taking interest and for comment.
Always nice to find an adventure that I missed.
More to come and glad you take time to find them all :) Thanks my friend.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Yessir!! I really enjoy them!!!
What do you do with the mortar rounds ? do you rebury and report it or just leave it? Love the videos . I am a big WW2 buff and I am jealous you have so much to search and discover. Keep up the good work.
it al Depends on circumstances and locations. Thanks
the worst thing about people who live in portugal is they can't find WW2 stuff
Verdade ahahh
Thanks for watching.
Well some fighter planes did crash in portugal during ww2 but only very few and I guess you can't find any parts of them anymore.
you found some nice things. Wondering what you will find on your next dig. xx
Who knows my friend and thanks.
your welcome x
Interesting finds folk :)
Great little adventure out there. More 2 come soon and thanks for taking time to comment and watch.
You live in a cool place you walk out the door and you stumble onto history and all you gotta do is dig it out.
Can't get any better than that..
Thanks for comment and for watching.
everything you do is great. . I wish I could help
Thanks Rosco for that.
Hello , fantastic,, i love watching your vidéos,, realy well done, thanks, i am a fan 100%

What's up history hunter!
just some good fun :) Thanks
Ooooh well 22 minutes of full immersion of ww2historyhunter
Thanks for that my friend.
More great finds.
Thanks Thomas
lot's of cool little things at this site...
yes and lots of more to come later. Thanks.
I actually found exactly the same x shaped feature near a german ammo storage as well but i never found out what it was, do you know what it is yet?
Great videos by the way keep it up!
Will look a little bit more into it but could be for barbed wire stuff. Thanks.
Interesting that most of the finds are very early dates. Probably means the storage was a bit unprofessional and things get dropped in mud before sheds etc were constructed. I really look forward to your updates. Trenches etc are interesting too not just the metallic stuff!
i agree , trench systems are facinating. Thanks Giovani and Greetings from us.
