I think the small finds are some of the best finds. Seeing the detonators for the hand grenades made me wonder if the grenades were assembled on site? One of the best parts of your videos is when you explain and show pictures of the items you found. You just don’t say wow, we found a detonator and then move on to something else. If your viewers aren’t watching your videos completely they are missing so much. Thanks for bringing us history and teaching us the history.

Great video's!!! Stumbled across your challenge a few weeks ago and am hooked!!
Think the white/aluminum cap looking thing at 9:53 is a SHIPPING PLUG (or fuse well cap). Shipping plugs are used to protect fuse wells on land mines and other types of explosives. The plugs would help keep dirt and other foreign objects out of the fuse wells. Unscrew the plug; insert fuse OR unscrew fuse; replace plug. I was a Combat Engineer in US Army for 20 years and handled all kinds of explosives, and that was my first thought when I saw that white/aluminum cap.

8:24 It looks a bit like part of a barbed wire spool. We had to do working parties in the forces usually mid winter! Laying new barbed wire was one of them and it came on spools like this? 15:08 rare to find 'potato masher' grenade parts. Was this perhaps an 'ordnance depot' where they assembled munitions for the troops? Like a forward base? 19:14 🤔 Hmmm this reinforces my theory of an 'ARMOURY' unit making ordnance for the troops and special operations? FANTSTICHE!! Excellent my friend. Another fascinating film.

Quite a few detonators on this trip. The parameter dance post is a nice 'line in the sand' feature. At least you know what side to dig on 👍🏻 those lead seals are fascinating! I've never thought about how if at all they would security seal items. A first type of find for you no? Also, well done with your print out comparisons. My grandma died in 2010, she was born in 1920. I was too little to realize that she went through the depression and world war 2. She wasn’t American either, she was German. When world war 2 started and America entered the war, she moved to America. When I was little and I would get in trouble she would yell at me in German. Wow, I wish I had the chance to ask her more questions. Rip Geraldine Hoferth. Thank you for making this video, I am so fascinated in World War Two stuff. By the way I am 15 years old.

I don’t know why it won’t except my comments sometimes. I have to go back to the play list after watching the video and then go back into the video to comment. It’s strange and only happens on a few. The give away that this area was a munitions storage depot is the many types of munitions and fuses your find. It’s amazing that you can still see the stampings on the items after they have been in the ground for so long. I wonder how many of these locations were attacked and captured by the Allies? Many great finds.

    9.5 kilos...Now I gotta do math...carry the 1...move the decimal....20.9439 lbs.
Greetings from Texas! Fun fact: Texas had the largest numbers of German POW's during WWII. No other state even came close.
Texas had approximately twice as many POW camps as any other state, first because of the available space, and second, curiously, because of the climate. The Geneva Convention of 1929 requires that prisoners of war be moved to a climate similar to that where they are captured; apparently it was thought that the climate of Texas is similar to that of North Africa. In August 1943 there were already twelve main camps in Texas, and by June 1, 1944, there were thirty-three. At the end of the war Texas held 78,982 enemy prisoners, mainly Germans, at fourteen military installation

Will look a little bit more into it but could be for barbed wire stuff. Thanks.

Interesting that most of the finds are very early dates. Probably means the storage was a bit unprofessional and things get dropped in mud before sheds etc were constructed. I really look forward to your updates. Trenches etc are interesting too not just the metallic stuff!
