- Today we explore an abandoned film producers mansion Bryan Forbes who sadly dies in 2013. He was well known for directing films like The Stepford Wives and the League Of Gentlemen among loads of other great films. His mansion was left abandoned after his death in 2013 and is situated in one of the riches neighbourhoods in the Uk. A beautiful Art Deco mansion. That staircase and handrail is stunning and so typicical of the 1930s. The long room with all the windows next to the kitchen is probably the garden room. The room with the screen was most likely the lounge. I also have a screen about that size - not electric and I've never used it yet. That wasn't an X-ray machine - just a light box for viewing negatives and may well have been used for his film work.
What a beautiful place! I imagine the second side was for the help, and the room with all the military books was probably where his security detail lived.
This place was amazing, Defo one of my fave videos you've done.
As a film director and producer that room with the screen was his screening room and the room behind didn't have an X-ray machine but a film negative viwer which can also be used to view x-rays. He had suspected MS which was later found to be a misdiagnosis. Bryan Forbes was one of the bastions of British Film making and its a shame that his home is falling into disrepair. I know wexactly where this place is but I won't disclose that but you are totally right about the area. Great video!!
