I am amazed this story posted today. I was just talking with one of my besties yesterday about gelato. Love me a good serving of gelato.
There was so much to see in Florence, when we were on our way to get a gelato, we passed the cathedral, Santa Croce…. so I stood there, amazed, took several pictures, I relished the beauty, then I moved on to get a gelato only to return to gaze upon the beauty of Santa Croce.
And, the locals were happy when you left. 😅
When I was 14 I took a trip to Italy with my grandmother any opportunity I got to try Gelato, I did. I always got lemon, and my grandmother said I should try different flavors. However, each place had a different take on Lemon.
Without passion… Everything in life will suck
I was in Venice vew days before the carnival in January, 2012? Just to experience the carnival mood, it was light snow outside, the square was crowded, everyone lining up for the wine fountain ⛲, yes, red wine flowing out of a carnival fountain! People wearing costumes like you will imagine 😊 the police wore gray cape as their winter uniform. I went back to my hostel with take away gelato, and enjoyed it near the heater 😅 it was just too cold to enjoy it on the streets! But i still want it, i think it was 2 euro each scope.
I paid 900Yen (6.20 USD) for 2 oz of gelato in Nagano, Japan. In Florence, Italy before covid, I could find a small cup of gelato for 1 Euro. Not sure of the price there now though.
Gelato is very special
Didn't know...Thank You!!!
Gelato is like ice cream except it's pretty thick! 😊
Try listening. 😅
When I went to Italy as a teen my favorite was Zuppe inglese.
Zuppa inglese (English Soup, I don't know why It's called like that)

It was over 10 years ago so I’m a little bit rusty yet I can pick up most of what he was saying in the video.
Gelato IS ice cream. The word literally means frozen, which is the word used in Italian and other romance languages for ice cream. In Spanish, the word for ice cream is helado, which also translates literally to frozen. Every country does their own style of ice cream, so obviously Italy has theirs. So gelato is just ice cream Italian-style. In Italy, if you want American ice cream, you would ask for gelato Americano (gelato American style).
I doubt that any Gelato is available in Yuma Arizona unless it’s in the Freezer section of Albertsons or Fry’s food stores!
Yes, I can find gelato at my local store it comes with a twist off top
That thumbnail though
Interesting
Many years ago I lived in Las Vegas and my daughter's and I would go check out the fancy stores and we were walking by a Gelato shop and they asked if we would like to try anything well needles to say we tried them all 🤣
Now you have me craving a spritz gelato. But I don't suppose they could sell them here in the USA, due to liquor licensing laws. Where did you find it?
I've never had gelato. I will try it the next time I have the chance.
It's very creamy!
Please give everyone an update. Very interested!!
15 bucks? Crazy!
Something still good in Italy.
So many things GREAT in Italy!! Take pride :)
It's good you no longer go. 😅
Mentioning the fat content but not the sugar. This definitely feels dated now lol.
The milkshake ingredients at McDonalds also cannot be called "ice cream"
Anything like ..Cherlato....?????😊
