    Thank you Rick !!!
    Very helpful video, following your instructions made my DeLonghi EN520.S working again 🙂
    Based on your video I have done the following:
    - Use toothbrush to clean inside the brewing unit as you show in your video
    - Putting the machine upside down and used hot water to flush from outside (where the coffee leaves the machine) to inside
    - Same as with hot water, I was also blowing air (by mouth) from outside to inside

    @davidfreakley4770 Před 3 lety +9

    Thanks for the video Rick. Our machine was doing exactly the same thing and we had already tried cleaning the inside with a toothbrush which didn't help. But after seeing your video we turned the machine upside down and ran water through the outlet with the tap turned on high and also held the spout of the tap in through the opening on the top of the machine (with the chrome lever fully opened) and washed water through the spout that way. Flushing water both ways cleaned it out and it's now working again without leaking into the used pod container.

    • @THEtattytetty
      @THEtattytetty Před 2 lety

      Hiya, could you explain this a little more? Which part is the outlet and how did you get the water to go through from the top out the spout? When I run the tap in the top of the machine it just goes into the pod collection tray below, rather than out the spout.

    • @mrcoolgs100
      @mrcoolgs100 Před rokem +1

      @@THEtattytetty A safer way: turn machine upside down over sink. Use a tooth pick (tiny/thin pipe cleaner would be better!) and use a syringe to blast hot water through the coffee spout (put syringe end up against the spout). Have a friend help wipe any water drips from getting into machine vents while you do this. This worked for me after brushing the inside with toothbrush.

    I had the same problem.
    It started after descaling the machine. I wanted to "really" clean it and brushed the part that you had in your video a bit. After that it started leaking and I tried everything including almost ruining my nerves.
    Then I found your video and gave it a try. This time, I brushed it harder with a toothbrush and blew air from the outlet to the inside with my mouth. A lot of scale came out. Made a coffee after that, no dripping, problem solved. Took me less than a minute.
    Dank je wel!

    Had a leak behind the sprout and down to the pod depot after running descaler. Thought it was broken.Brushing vigorously as shown and then running LOTS of water trough it before blowing up through the sprout did the trick. The blowing still dislodged a lot of old coffee. Did the same with an air compressor after seeing that. Then it stopped leaking.Thanks for the video!

    Thank you Rick - this was incredibly helpful. I think I've worked out why this works as a fix - after the coffee has come out of the capsule, it goes into the spout. In the spout, there are four tiny holes through which the coffee as to pass to get out the nozzle. If these holes are blocked, then the coffee backs up in the spout and then pours out into the pod container. So the compressed air / toothpick is clearing these holes. Two things gave me this hunch: firstly, it was coffee that was leaking, rather than water, which implied the coffee was coming out the other side of the capsule. Secondly, there was a delay from when coffee would start brewing to when it started pouring into the pod container. I ended up opening up the machine using this video: czcams.com/video/Ck-O_8p1z68/video.html, which was helpful. Then was able to take the spout off the dispenser, and then could see that the four holes were completely blocked with coffee residue. Gave this a scrub, put it back together and bingo - no leaks :)

    • @That_Old_Dude
      @That_Old_Dude Před 7 měsíci

      Thank you Rick and Rollo! I had tried disassembling the machine and cleaning the capsule unit but I hadn't realised that the spout might get blocked up too. If anything my machine was worse after my first attempts, but after I read your comment Rollo I took it all apart again and got the spout part out. There was quite a bit of crud in it. I then poked a toothpick through all four holes to clear them out, gave the whole area a good brush with an old toothbrush and washed it through well. Once I had put it all back together again I tried it and I got a full, hot cup of coffee with only a few drops leaking into the capsule collection area. I had been contemplating buying a new machine at £300, but now my old one can carry on until the next bit breaks!! Thank you!
