I love how when they took the deal Kevin maturely walked over to them and Robert was running waving his new toy in the air
The only people who ever got a better deal than they asked for and they blew it, wow
I think it was mainly about Kevin and Robert fighting over the same toy and wanting to come out on top. not so much about the company itself lol. Toy's cool, but not a great sales execution
And yet they blew up and are making MILLIONS! So, they didn’t blow a damn thing…

It's way too expensive for a kid's toy. They need to remove the rechargeable battery, and just use AA batteries, and maybe charge like 10 dollars for it.
And maybe make a ZipString Pro version with the rechargeable batteries.

I could have sworn ive seen these for years at toy conventions and on chinese marketplaces. I'm shocked the cost to produce them were as high as it was
my siblings and I had these when we were kids in the early 00s. we got them at a local toy shop (gadgets & gizmos. they specifically sold doohickey toys like this), don’t remember seeing them in any big chain toy stores or anything.

I think mark said for 100k as a joke and they went with it. Kevin was probably planning to offer 200k.
Damn this was wrong in so many levels. First not taking the 10% offer, then not taking the 9%, after that countering to ask for less equity instead of the same equity and more amount of money. Anyway it's still a good deal getting two shark, i assume this pitch will definitely blow up and easily will be worth at ten's million of dollars in next five years.
They are charging $36.99 on Amazon with pretty poor reviews on performance

They did blow it! They went from an offer of 9% for $100k to giving up 20% for $100k.
This was painful to watch. They had two sharks dueling it out to get 10% for 100k and then Kevin says to Mark, “hey let’s go in on this together 20% for 100k.” Ummm what? These guys were just fighting each other for the deal to the point Kevin even drops to 9% and you agree to HALF what they offered? They did attempt to try to offer less equity but when Kevin said he needed 10% to get excited about it, they should have immediately countered with both Mark and Kevin each getting 10% for 100k a piece. I’m sure they would have took that deal. Painful.
This seems like the kind of toy that kids would be really excited about for about 5 minutes, then get bored with and never touch again.
I think it would be cooler if it were not battery operated... The coolest toys we remember had no plugs or batteries and were very low tech...Hula Hoops... Etch a Sketch...Cabbage Patch... Lincoln Logs...Legos...Mr. Potato Head...Cooties...

It’s string not a rope. Also this is gonna be marketed towards older kids, if you’re a parent buying this for your 4 year old you’re just dumb.
