If anyone is curious about an update on Shelton, she quit the fashion business and became a realtor: "In just seven years as a realtor, she found her place among the top 1.5% of realtors nationwide, with over $420 million in total sales and upwards of $150 million in sales in 2022 alone. Shelton [the CEO] and her team specialize in luxury residential and commercial properties in Brentwood, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Mar Vista, Venice, and Beverly Hills." So she is doing VERY well now, congrats to her.
That's great. Wouldn't mind seeing her fashion still succeed as she seemed like a decent designer.
that's a shame
Thank you so much for the update on Shelton. I truly want her to be successful.
Awesome news to hear that she is doing well now. Great 🙂
So is she a failure or a success ?
Why does she speak like that ? Isn’t she from Jersey ?
Holy Cow. She is now the CEO of the Shelton Wilder Group, a subsidiary of Sotheby International Realty. An eight woman team that sells more than $150 million per year, high end homes in SoCal that list for 7 or 8 figures. She's doing fine.
sHE IS A Broker at Sotheby's International Realty
I literally just came from a shark tank video comment section saying how they missed when the show was about "$50k for 10% asks" and this was a refreshing throwback lol
heh
By the end of it, you could see Kevin regretted saying that.
It’s good he got called out.
It was truly a dick move. And is forever in the internet. Happily, the other Sharks were much more kind to her.
I don't think the sharks (besides maybe Lori) really understood or understand her experience with addiction and sobriety. I understand and see why she decided to close that previous business. Memories from addiction and other similar experiences are triggers for people who are going through their sobriety journey. So it makes sense that, what to the sharks seems "stupid," or a "bad business decision" was a much needed refresh.
That may all be true and logical. But it’s also something that you can’t hide from potential shareholders. The failure to be transparent can bump up against the fine line of fraud.
She could've just said, "I was in a different company that sells the same thing but left for personal reasons" from the beginning.
They still would have pressed her for the peraonal reasons. Its a TV show and that's good content. I tried to never mistake reality TV for reality.
That wouldn’t have worked. Since she has no sales they would have grilled her on what happened with the previous business. She honestly shouldn’t have brought up the previous business at all since it’s not in operation and not a competitor.
I get why people don’t like Kevin, but that guy is the only one in the chair that doesn’t make emotional decisions!
he's an idiot - difference between not making an emotional decision and lending words of honor and encouragement... he doesn't need to invest but he needs a slap upside the head
Just business decisions of course. He has too and It’s the smartest too
Most of the time
I can respect tough love, but sometimes Kevin takes it too far. Humans aren't just numbers they're people with emotions and dreams and sometimes focusing on that side of a person is smarter than just focusing on the cold hard numbers.
@Karlach_ Not really, being told the truth really helps you grow. If you hate the truth then you hate growth.
Man. IM so HAPPY for her that she's doing great !!! Good for her !!! God bless her.
She tugged at my heartstrings when she asked Lori if she would wear one. From a pitcher she became someone who just wanted to hear some reassurance. She sounds like a real sweetheart. So happy for when I read that she is now doing excellent in a completely different industry. Sometimes you go through hardships in life for growth, lessons, and sometimes they will completely readjust your life and place you where you need to be. Suddenly you discover this whole new layer of yourself you didnt know existed. So happy for her.
$1200 blouse OMG
The problem wasn't her personal issues or valuation. It was just a product that already exists a thousand times over. I mean you could say that SKIMS is redundant, too. It's only successful cuz of Kim Kardashian owning it.
The problem was that she didn't have any sales.
@@matcha6842 ...yes, because the product was redundant. Otherwise she'd have sales. I've seen the sharks jump on a few ideas that don't have a bunch of sales (esp tech stuff) but the sharks chomp at the bit
Interesting. Tell me more.
@@anovosedlikThis way a very long time ago so I’m not so sure it was redundant.
@@LIVEINPEACE2023 Actually these did exist. The pantyhose people sold and I think still sell these. I'm not ancient but old enough to remember being in high school and ordering this kind of product of alibaba - a stretchy long tank that covers your @ss in neutrals - for prom. And that was back when we called them spaghetti straps!
They did her wrong in that thumbnail 😅
Barbra actually ordered some of her clothes, just to return them with a note saying "she's out"
Barbra actually sent her a text saying "I'm out"
She sent her a text saying: I'm only into outer wear.
Text said "I don't understand clothing and how it works. For that reason, I'm out"
The 3 replies on this comment above mine have got to be the worst Barbara "im out" jokes Ive ever read. Sometimes its better to say nothing than try to piggyback on someone elses joke with something that isnt funny at all.
If you are a larger woman is this going to accentuate your largeness or diminish it?
Kevin was out of line here - i understand he was playing more of this character in early Shark Tank, but her story is real and personal. It's completely unprofessional to suggest that a business partner must discuss their personal/family issues, especially during a first meeting. Shameful.
He was a complete dick here.
Lori was the one who asked first if she was hiding something.
Do you watch the episode carefully?? Lori was the one who asked and pushed the issue. People who likes your comment definitely Kevin's hater who likes wrong fact.
@@Mikael2492 Lori originally asked it but didn't demand it. kevin outright said that she HAD to let it out, and that everyone needs to air out their personal laundry in first business meetings. Completely ridiculous.
The real pitch is longer than the 10-15 minutes they show on an episode. It’s possible that smaller, less noticeable things were cut out and she was avoiding the topic to an extent that he felt the need to know the deal was. Without that kind of background, it seems more abrupt and pushy
How interview grilling look like ?!
This piece 👌
Kevin made a good point. He was not wrong. It's not like he was shaming her for her past, he was criticizing her for trying to withhold critical details about business history from potential business partners that she was asking money from. He came off as a little patronizing, as he usually does. But, for anyone to grow (as she seems to have) it is for the sake of learning the truth and not running from it.
I thought it takes months and for some over a year to get on this show.
Wow what an episode
"paparazzi protector" - well that's a new term for the CooCoo, lol. it looks like an alright product to me, but I've grown confused watching her getting picked apart by Kevin. She said she had an alcoholic problem, then she became bankrupt and now Shemie was her passion? Hopefully, she got the help she needed and continued on her sober path to success.
She's so sweet ❤
Who syncs and engineers the audio?
Helen Keller on an Atari 2600?
Hahaha. Blind deaf and dumbb
LMAO
She is the stereotyped used for the movie, Clueless 😊
Kevin was out but mouth kept running
I wish her all the best
“Because remember guys, leggings aren’t pants. No no no. That’s rude.” 😂 best line
The original skims
I don’t understand how previous personal (non-corporate) bankruptcy necessitated the end of the previous company. So it still doesn’t make any sense to me.
Kevin's a nasty person. He was to harsh to her.
I feel like they didn't need to know that about her.
She spoke of time stories
She is Quinn Morgendorffer!!!
kevin is really starting to grow on me not gonna lie
She got a makeover and then started the real estate company. Good for her.
Barbra: I don’t understand, so for that reason I’m out 😂
What did she say her problem was? 6:25
@@feliph Thanks she said it so fast...
6:20
She was basically selling basic dresses, no special feel good material, no special details, no shape of their own. Not really an idea worth investing in, yet despite that I feel like what she was looking for was too low for how much she was offering, 60k for 20%? If it were me I'd say 60k for 2%. I think not getting a deal but getting on the show was the best outcome for her.
Bruh what?? 60k for 2 percent of a company with zero sales or infrastructure. There's a reason it went out of business and she quit fashion and continued with being a realtor. 60k for 80 percent would still be a terrible idea for selling something that already exists that can be made by any other company.
@@idontno0 So I was saying more, if I was going into this with a decent clothing idea I would want that sort of ratio. IIRC that adds up to 3 million dollar valuation. That's more reasonable if you believe in the product. If it succeeds it will make way more than 3 million dollars, to say your company is worth 300k, is basically saying, you don't believe it in, investors should not invest in you. That's why she went out of business, not her idea, but her. I say that as someone who didn't care much for the idea.
Because she doesn't understand basic math. You know when is the movies you have the bubbly main character thatvis just cute and fun but... well you know.
Anyways, she could have sold something, but not know how much profit she made. She does not understand cost of operations vs revenues and COGS. She doesn't understand the questions, nor ever calculated what that was. Her personal story was completely irrelevant. But lacking financial understanding, she went with that. Her friend probably managed the books and she has no idea on how to do that.
Dude that’s a 3 million dollar evaluation. She evaluated her own company at $300,000
@@Malally2 Someone who doesn't believe their company is worth more than $300k, isn't worth investing in. A couple million is much more reasonable for both sides.
Kevin having some personal issues in his life and taking it out on this poor innocent girl who's just trying to pick herself up and rebuild her self esteem. I hope he contacted her after the show and apologized, with a fat cheque!
Daymond should’ve invested
I felt the same, too. She struggled, wasn’t asking for a ridiculous amount and him being a designer himself; this could’ve worked out well for the both of them.
She came in too early
why is the sound so terrible? i always assumed it was just old recordings but this literally just came out.
It is an old recording but just released.
Yeah I dunno why the producers brought her in
Everyone has something to sell, including a sad story
Deborah???? De-Bor-Ah?????? I'm out.
Never seen Mr Wonderfull so downcast at the end !!
Mr wonderful regretted he did not behave wonderfully.
1st time I've ever commented 2x. She's a fn actress if I've ever seen one lol
I still think she’s lying about things.
I'm just focusing on that gap tooth.
I love being an ENTREPRENEUR ❤❤❤
I don't know If the production made footage cuts but I'm confused about what her story is... If I was a shark I wouldn't invest because I myself have a history of substance abuse, in saying that I know that going back to abusing substances full time is split decision away. I would not invest knowing my money might get spent on something other then it's proposed purpose..
Addiction looks different on everyone. You’d be surprised at the number of people who have addictions.
Who’s to say that one or more sharks don’t have one?
@@LIVEINPEACE2023 I probably wouldn't. I was using for 22 years. Everyday.. paying my bills, going to work. Just didn't buy a new car or go on vacation.. I bought drugs. Daily. So I wouldn't be surprised at who or the type of people who are addicts. Take care sir
Hard times happen to each their own. Imo she shouldn't of stopped the other successful business because of the name that brings back drinking memories???? Not a good idea. 😕
Intervention.
I hate these emotional manipulators
Jaime Lynn spears
She's much more attractive than Jamie.
Cute lady.
This was so painful to watch.

Omg 😮
What an accomplishment
@@samuelsanchez6082thank you
Cringe
She is so cute!!
Why is she speaking like a 3-year old?
bs IF THIS WAS A MAN THEY WOULD HAVE HELPED HIM!
She is the most annoying person
Those crocodile tears! Disgusting ! Why this has become a culture when people need to reach a deal?
My dude, those are real tears. She went through a lot for you to just dismiss it like that. Maybe get common sense and a heart.
Doesn’t her “invention” already exist? How is this not a pair of bloomers?
I bet she could build a dam in no time lmao. Holy Chicklets!!!!!😮😮😮
Kevin is such a clown for his comments
He keeps it real.
