Shooting vs Melee! World Eaters vs Aeldari Warhammer 40,000 10th Edition Battle Report

- Back at it with the Aeldari - some reinforcements have arrived and have some paint on, so it’s only fair to put them up against Angron and the World Eaters to see which will triumph, raw melee power or sneaky Eldar tactics!
In the Purple corner, Chris fields 2000 points of the Aeldari; the Avatar of Khaine backed up by Fire Dragons, War Walkers, Wraithguard and a bunch of extra aspect warriors with Shadow Spectres and Warp Spiders en masse! They’re hoping to keep back a mega pressure list from the World Eaters. Angron backed up by some newly painted Exalted Eightbound, Argal Tal cosplaying as a Lord Invocatus for some sweet Scouty buffs, and three units of 10 berserkers all jammed into Rhinos. The Defiler takes to the table for the first time today, 180 points for a seemingly good data card, let’s see if it can get into combat and smack up some Eldar goons!
10th Edition Warhammer 40k goodness, and our last runout with the Leviathan cards ahead of Pariah Nexus missions and the new balance data slate rules and points adopted in this coming Monday’s battle report. Thanks mate! We should have caught that, it's so rare the berzerkers actually get close to combat without getting blown out of the water beforehand! Next time.
I love it when the world eaters hit the field(even with a defiler)! And boy did they hit it today! Btw a 10 man squad of berzerkers should have 3 plamas and 7 bolt pistols bc the champion can also take a plamsa. Seeing angron come back in turn 4 really got my blood going! I love it! Looking forward to more glorious combat!
Ah the defiler… next time he’s not allowed any ranged weapons 😂. Gotcha on the pistols, think I got too excited by actually being on the front foot with the army for once! Thanks for watching mate

At 11.03 the Avatar overwatches and hits on 6 triggering sustained D3 all of with AUTOMATICALLY hits no need to roll the to hit.
Ah! Luckily didn't impact as jammy Chris hit with them all anyway! But you're right, the overwatch 6 would have been THE hit, generating the d3. Thanks for the spot dude
Sorry, I don't understand what happened with that blood surge move in the second turn. If the unit was 4.5 inches from an enemy and surged 4 inches, that would put them half an inch from an enemy which is well within the 1 inch engagement range. Therefore they would not be valid targets for shooting. Did I misunderstand something in that?
No, you got it right. Plus, they should have surged again when one was killed with the pistol. There's a fair amount of things they miss here, like the ExEight having a 6+ FNP rather than a 5+, but it's still an enjoyable watch.
These things are all true, apologies lads been a while since I ran out the World Eaters and the ExEight were new to me! Should have them down next game.

I actually have a massive Eldar army back in England because, when I started playing, they had the biggest guns. Then Tau dropped halfway through the collection but I couldn't convince my parents to switch :(
Oh man, I’ve always liked the Eldar but instead went with Tau! On this day the silly guns weren’t enough..
That was a cool match today. Noticed some cool tanks and cool falcon. Can you do three matches? What if you put a Gundam in the playing field? I'm learning about phases in the game.
Aha! Three player games get a bit… messy but you totally can for fun! A gundam might be a stretch but you could always have a rogue big Imperial Knight causing chaos? Cheers for watching dude

I dunno 15 min in and Im wondering what game the eldar are even playing.. you handed angron t1 charges? Ran your chickens into a blender?
Idk if you saw what happened, but angron moved 20 inches and then made an 9 inch charge into the aeldari deployment zone. It wasn't really a misplay to deploy within 29 inches of the enemy.
I think we were a bit surprised when Will actually made a 9 inch charge, it doesn’t happen a lot!
