  • Here it is. Our newest cover is by Wardruna and is called đ‡đžđ„đŻđžđ đžđ§. đŸ–€
    Now up on all streaming platforms: orcd.co/klandrahelvegen
    Who's going to sing your name when you're about to leave this earth? This is the message of Helvegen written by Einar Selvik. We love this song, and we wanted to make our own interpretation. This is a homage to a song and a band whom has inspired us tremendously over the years.
    Again, like every time, we always work with very talented and creative people.
    Shoutout to Thomas Bottolfsen for filming and editing. Check out more of his work at www.thomasbottolfsen.com/ and Endre Lohne on light design. 🙏

Then i found version with Aurora and i was looking for covers, sounding similiar, sadly, there was none, 2 days ago i typed Helvegen cover... And here i am, speechless, lying at bed, in dark room at night, listening to this masterpiece.

    I'm a Scottish guy that's been lurking on this song for years. Tonight I'm drunk and feel the need for a comment. Even the beginning of this song makes the hairs on my arm stand up. I don't understand the language but I feel the power of the message. I haven't dared looked up the translation because I enjoy it misunderstood. The tone alone carries the song.

    Some of us are feeling strange connection and passion for being part of something great. We are not happy in this modern materialistic world where we only fight to survive from paycheck to paycheck. And why ? This is all madness and we will never be truly happy and free in this world. We are missing the old ways when we were connected to nature. We should get true friends and people who share same dream together to build new world. There we would be truly free to create our own destiny as equals.
    We should stop wasting our life we wont be here forever!

    • @scottk1525
      @scottk1525 Pƙed 3 lety +39

      Fun fact: You can still connect to nature in the modern age. I think people over-romanticize historical eras based almost entirely on movies and books. But you have *no idea* what life was like back then. Would you really trade the safety, comfort, convenience, knowledge, and opportunity of the modern world for a time of war, plague, rape, ignorance, & starvation? Would you trade living in a climate-controlled home with 10 grocery stores nearby for being genuinely afraid of starving and freezing to death every winter? Would you trade all the knowledge you have of the world for not knowing anything outside of your village, and never being exposed to even a single book? Would you trade living to 90 for most likely dying in your thirties?
      It's fun to fantasize about the "old ways," but it's another to be so delusional that you honestly think that a time of almost no options and no knowledge would be better than a time of infinite options and infinite knowledge.

When civilization exterminated the lives of my ancestors and brought a new era of slavery..we have to pay for food and water when they used to grow it and receive the water from the streams.. I don't think you understand. This apparent new age of knowledge has only brought suffering to nations.. The dominance of superpowers and the destruction of our planet. I still think you don't see this.. And the most painful thing is that I get laughed at for worshipping the aseir and the old gods are forgotten as myths in history books. I don't think you would never understand.. You stand by the annihilation of humanity and our ways . You stand by the collapse of everything we knew and replaced it with synthetic slavery and the cancer of this world. It's disgusting to live in this age with no purpose at all.. When my ancestors where free to write their own destiny and to survive with purpose.. Take a step back and realise what hell we are in before you start saying we romanticise it.. We crave it we train for it and ragnarok hasn't even happened yet so there is time left to embrace your modern ideals

    I've been listening to this constantly over the last few days. This song evokes such a spiritual connection within me like none other...I feel a longing to have the music be a part of myself and somehow be immersed deeper within it, but sorrow knowing the impossibility of that. If there ever were a song to overcome the fear of death, this would be it. The Wardruna original has been a favorite of mine as well as the performance with Aurora but this one I can't get out of my mind.
