Bruno Gorga He understands that music is medicine. I'm a Traditional Native American man ( Sicangu Oyate) and I think he very much understands things like we do. There are many, many things he has said that is deeply relatable to our understanding the world and nature but also music. We understand that Music is collective, it's medicine for the the people and that's exactly what he's talking about.

There is actually a kept song from the viking times in around year 1300 it was written into the lawbook the song was written in runic "Codex Runicus" It's a song from Denmark the oldest song written down with nodes that most likely dates from far older back than 1300 it was just the time they wrote it down in the lawbook yet it was found written in stones before that.. its titled "Jeg drømte mig en drøm i nat" / directly roughly translated to "i dreamt myself a dream this night" often refered to as "i dreamt me a dream" - go check it out we still use the melody on the national radio during pauses.
/watch?v=lirMtNJHKPU this is a melody of it.. but you should be able to find with the song to it along with translations.

@@Concerned_Robot nope you can thank the celtics and norsemen for that, they didn't write anything down, no history, so stories no melodies, If they had writen this things we would know more. Some people will know claim about Eddoe or something else that was writen at 1300, but at this times the norseman were already christianised for 100-200 years and in that time, those stories etc probably changed a lot.

as he talks about singing songs for everything, I smile. This past Tuesday, September 6th, 2016, my father passed from this life and into the next. My family is Swedish primarily, so I don't think he minded that I sang this to him as he lay dying, singing him into his death-sleep. My voice broke as I sang and cried. This song is immensely healing for me. I will never think of it the same way again, it will always be the song I sang my father to his final peace with.

Thank you for this music Einar, Wardruna. I feel that my soul and my heart are with this culture, a great culture. Sorry if I bother norse people for being from another continent with another traditions and culture, I don't feel like I am from here.

+DiegooMZ You're welcome to feel belonging in this culture, or any culture who ever you are friend.
It's not for anybody to decide who belongs were, we're all visitors on planet earth, and will soon be gone. Racist people are really just afraid and uneducated both socially and academically. Afraid to feel uncomfortable.
I really feel a connection to the viking way of life (except for their religion).
I also feel a strong connection to the way of indians and their culture.
The thing I feel attracted to in these cultures is the closeness to nature and their life style. To live like a free human being in harmony with your own nature and nature itself.
      Cheers from Sweden!

I instantly pictured berserkers "reaping" in battle.

Very good! Wardruna has become one of my most cherished groups, planning to travel to see them soon. Thanks OP for posting this, it takes raw talent to play a simple stringed instrument and sing un-mic'd and make it sound this good.
