    The circular state of mind he describes is also the way ancient Celtic peoples thought and lived. Everything comes and goes, every day, month, year and era is like a wheel: death gives way to life and sorrow to joy, over and over again, for varying lenghts of time but always in a circle. This is true, ageless wisdom.

      This is also true for Lakota and many other tribes of n. america... The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves. Our tepees were round like the nests of birds, and these were always set in a circle, the nation's hoop. As described by Black Elk in the book: "Black Elk Speaks".

    Amazing performance as always.. I'd like to see him in person if I had the chance. The introductory speech about the old way of perceiving the world matches perfectly with how I see the world. Despite being born Catholic, I've never shared the same point of view suggest by this monotheistic religion. I've tried in vain to explain my beliefs to people inside or outside the Church as institution but it turned out completely unuseful.

    • @chadviking3607
      @chadviking3607 Před 4 lety +1

      I was born Catholic, I am 17. It is very difficult trying to be an Asatru pagan under Himlar orn Himlarsson's group when you are surrounded by people who only see the world one way.

    • @satansfall0760
      @satansfall0760 Před 3 lety

      @@chadviking3607 agree with you mate....I'm distancing myself from catholic religion too. I'm a 22 yo girl, I live in Italy and was raised with catholic education. My family thinks I'm mad and they basically hate what I want to do but I've been trough hell for some years and now I feel the need to search for other beliefs. Is it too hard to understand? For example they hate the fact I refuse to be called with my second name, Maria bc it's too catholic. I feel sorry but I can't keep practicing a religion I don't feel mine anymore, it will be only preserving an exterior image I don't care about anymore. I crave to find my interior peace instead.

  • @gunnarfireheart1859
    @gunnarfireheart1859 Před 3 lety +1

    I like his speech in the beginning, alot of people missing the point of life. We can bring that back Birth,work,Battle,Death Then, Birth,Growing up,working,videogames,destressing,growing old ect.... we change with the times, how we are now isn't how we were then, with the advancement in technology we can life alot longer than our ancestors, we have not had had to worry about death as much until now and see what happened. Everyone is in a massive panic, well they were a year or so ago. But restrictions are still alive and well we all know that yes we know it's real but think about this If you view the world with oh everything is ok we have everything we need, you will die in a real world situation, I'm sorry it sounds horrible sure but if you take life into the idea that death is real and it's only a matter of time before we end up were we began then you are prepared for that certain day when something goes right, or wrong whichever way you see it.

      I agree with your point that christianity has come far from it's roots, and perhaps in the wrong way. Even the old orthodox hymns sound different and more powerful compared to the "good innocent catholic boy" themed boring chirping that is popular today. On the origins of Jesus I think that it was a Jewish invention to make jewish religion more popular to people. Being a "son of god" was actually common among Roman emperors at the time, so when a poor jew suddenly crowns itself as the son of god, it was nothing but a protest against the authorities at that time, and Romans didn't like it, so they nailed the poor bastard to a wooden cross of course. Why christianity became popular was because it was so easily marketable: "all your sins will be forgiven" and "the meager, poor people will be blessed" is exactly what the poor, lowly masses want to hear. Of course Christianity really took off when Constatine the great converted, but why? He was an exceptionally murderous character, who executed his own son by error, and when he realised his mistake, he had his wife boiled alive. When he got old he began to seek forgiveness from different religions, but all the high priests from different faiths apparently agreed on one thing, that his deeds are so fucked that they can't bless him.. except for one, Christianity! They told him "sure, convert and it all will be just fine", and the rest is history.
