I don’t think uncle Franks hotel room shower was “broken” there was definitely some thing else going on with him and Kevins Dad.
The fact that jughead and betty were the only two people who wanted to keep both the good memories and the bad ones makes me happy since they were the ones always looking for the truth.
The characters in Season 7 are still the characters we knew from previous seasons, the thing is just that the behaviour of the characters from S1-S6 were affected by their immense trauma. The version of them we see now, are the happiest they’ve ever been, they haven’t experienced the horrors they have in present day. That’s what I think is beautiful about this last season, it gives the characters the teenagehood they never got to experience, and that’s why I’m not this pissed about the decision to stay in the 50s anymore, I just try to enjoy it now because it’s so heartwarming to see these characters happy.
I’m so unhappy with the way they ended Tabitha‘s story. We don’t know why she wasn’t in most of the episodes, if Erinn asked to be scripted out or if it was the writer‘s decision, but even if it was Erinn‘s choice, the way they handled her arc this season is SO unsatisfying. She was played down to kind of a "helper", a person who only existed to serve as purpose to the other characters, and it’s honestly so disappointing, especially considering how much Tabitha wanted to achieve in the present time line. The writers were called out for mistreating their black characters a lot, they apologized and promised to do better, but now they completely pulled a Julie Plec.
I was SO PROUD of Betty when she chose to keep her bad memories too. In Pop's when she was like "That world was so dark" I was like YES GIRL BUT YOU CONQUERED IT and faced the darkness more than anyone and chose to face the truth and came out stronger every time! I really thought they might have her forget and to me that would be totally fumbling her character and who she is on a fundamental level so I'm glad they proved they still know who she is; Jughead's voiceover saying she knew better than anyone we're both the good and bad...took the words out of my mouth!
I also agree it's been a total comfort show and I'm so sad it's ending. Been watching your reactions since S2 and it's been a wild ride! There will always be more soap operas but none of them will be Riverdale!

I agree knowing Betty's Character as well as Jughead it's not suprising that those two chose to remember everything including the bad that's one of the reasons i loved their Characters
Tbh I had a feeling that they would have to stay in this time for comic book for callbacks to them and remember everything but I just wished they had done this like 10 episodes before and have the last 10 episodes with them living life and carry on how we ended things last season until the finale and have a Betty and Archie wedding 😩
It is our characters
Tabitha sent our Riverdale Characters back in time and let them forget about the comet and all other stuff, yet they still are our characters that needed to live in the 50th to make a better future for themselves, so that they watch their past lives is just like us looking at old pics of us and remembering about that moment that we may have forgotten
Sorry but Archie was obsessed with staying in Riverdale to copy his dad. That’s a real side to him but it isn’t his entire personality. This is the same for each of the characters. Everything we’re seeing in this season is a real side to all of these characters that has always existed.
Im gonna miss Tabitha, Her and Jug were so good together. But he will always remember her since he chose to remember everything. I wish we got more of the 50s V and Jug. meanwhile in Present day V and Jug frenemies 90% of the time. Jug had to remember he almost died twice and just like everyone else he went tho alot. I just hope everyone ends up being happy, But i think Jug will not be happy in the inside cuz of Tabitha but idk thats just my thought.

I'm so with you on Riverdale being a comfort show!! Its been my light in the dark and its so fun even if its crazy sometimes, and also yes the last seasons have not been my fave either. And its so tiring when people like to make fun of it. And I cried watching this too, and I will bawl my eyes out in the last episode. It seems that almost everyone in Riverdale is either gay or bi! When did this happen? LOL!
that's not really how orphan black ended. helena decided to write a story about her life/their life, but that doesn't mean the whole show was helena's story. a reveal that riverdale was all just a story jughead wrote would be such a weak ending, essentially rending the entire series pointless and moot. it's the equivalent of "it was all a dream" and also a really old theory that has been around since the very beginning of the show. ras just playing right into the most obvious ending would be so so so disappointing. jughead using their stories from the original timeline to create archie comics or something as inspired by their life, like helena did with orphan black would be fine, if a bit overdone and tired; a reveal that all these characters and stories were just jughead's writing? booooo.
the tom/frank scene was so stupid and such a waste of time that could have been spent on a choni scene. this show is obsessed with making their homophobic characters secretly gay, which is such a harmful cliche.
i think people forget that archie originally wanted to leave riverdale and pursue music as a career and it wasn't until fred died that he became obsessed with filling like his father's absence and saving riverdale and having the same cliche white picket fence life. a lot of people think it's so out of character or a bad ending for him, but in my opinion, it's a return to form and a lot healthier for him than desperately trying to be fred. this whole season has been about him breaking out of that mentality by quitting basketball, which he only joined to feel closer to fred, or rejecting the army, to instead pursue his own passions. in this timeline it's poetry, while in the original, it was music.
the memory stuff was too rushed and should have been the whole episode. there were so many important conversations that were missed out on, especially for choni, imo. they kept things vague enough that it's hard to really understand what they remember/what they feel and that was probably on purpose, so the viewers can believe whatever they want and the writers don't have to do any hard work writing hard convos, i guess. i think it's fair if people want to view 6x22 as a finale or the end of certain characters, but for me, for cheryl and toni, this is a continuation of their story, not a new one. both because they're both very similar to the original versions and have a similar dynamic, but also because of the soulmates angle, which isn't applicable to the other ships/characters. it's not the same as riverdale/vale, as those are separate characters in a separate universe and could interact with one another, as we saw in late s6. whereas these are the same bodies and the same souls as the original characters, just different memories; they would not be able to interact with one another because they're the same people, if that makes sense. i view it as basically merging the two versions of the characters together by merging all the timelines. i wish they were more explicit about them having their memories, but i still view the characters as their ~prime versions, i guess.
tabitha deserved so much better. i could rant for ages about all the ways why.
