Sorry I've not been able to hear this, had it up at full on my phone and was still struggling to hear. Could you comment if the sound improves? Best wishes and hope you had a great Christmas and New year ❤️

Bought your budget planner a few weeks back so thank you for demonstrating how to fill the sections in. Will be doing my January budget tomorrow. January is a no spend month for me too.

Wishing you all the best for 2024🎉
I hope you can stick to your food budget that would be amazing. It does seem very low though at just over £33 a person for Jan x

Yes I'm doing a no spend January too, I'm also doing a no unnecessary spending year. This year I can only buy if it's to replace something that I use regularly not just because I like it. It's going to be tough, wish me luck.

❤ I worry that your food budget is too low. I have tried and tried and I can’t do that level of expenditure. I think your videos keep me grounded so thank you for all that you do. All the best to you and your family for 2024.

If you have a community centre and churches nearby check out if any run a surplus food scheme alongside the more ‘traditional’ food bank - surplus food schemes are to stop food going into landfill and they are supplied by supermarkets when their products reach the best before date and can no longer be legally sold (usually midnight on the BB date) obviously a best before date can have a fair bit of leeway in them so well worth padding out the shopping budget this way - they are great for bread, fruit and veg, herbs etc and are usually open 4 or 5 days a week, the food is free (sometimes open to donations) and mine has a cafe attached which sells food really cheaply - I.e. you can get breakfast and a cup of tea or coffee for £2.50 and frozen meals for £2.00 each

Low spend year. In March I should be able to ramp up my savings for emergency fund and month a head goals

I do feel you should have a savings aim. Think about your mindset and what that’s telling you. Even if it’s small…like £20 a month. It’s £20 more than you saved last month. Or is there something you’d like to buy new? For example a tv. You go set a 6 month goal for £250. Good luck x

I've found the sound quality for this, also other videos, really a struggle to hear. I'm listening on my laptop full blast. Is that something you could look into? x

Are you able to use something like Jamdoughnut to get cashback on supermarket gift cards and possibly on petrol? I usually get get the Morrisons fuel gift card to pay towards petrol.

@NicolaatTheFrugalCottage Yes, you may have access to things like this via your work. Also don't forget cashback on all those house repair supplies etc when able... which reminds me I need to stock up on stanley knife blades!😂

Do u have a wacky warehouse near you? They do a play pass with unlimited visits which is brill for weekends and even after school. I've just done 3 months for £30 per child which is fab as it includes Feb half term and beginning of Easter x just an idea of something to do

    Hi Nicole,
I bought your budget planner & just a quick question. I get paid on 25th of each month (unless 25th falls on a weekend…then it may be 23rd or 24th).
So my question is do I do my monthly budget for January 01.01.24 to 31.01.24
    Or 25.12.23 to 24.01.24?
    Hope this makes sense.
    Which would you recommend?
    Thanks in advance xx
