Crazy how techniques get re-discovered every once in a while and brought back into the MMA Meta. For example ricardo arona in pride and benson henderson in the UFC brought calf kicks to the fold. Brief shoutout to bigfoot silva who used them in the mark hunt fight then forgot to use them again.

what I find very hypocritical and disrespectful is the fact that most bjj practitioners or fanatics always seem to enjoy ridiculing ninjutsu or bujinkan or jutaijutsu or whatever ... but somehow this doesn't seem to keep them from using 'ninja' as a label for something within their grappling technique curriculum (instead of the other way around, since bjj wouldn't even exist if not for jutaijutsu) as if 'ninja' is all of a sudden something to be feared, something useful ... you either respect your ancestors' heritage jutaijutsu or you keep 'ninja' out of it, one or the other, you can't have it both ways
