There’s the thousands of covers of Enter Sandman…and then there’s this!
This rendition was a complete re-imagining done for the Metallica Blacklist album, which was a tribute album celebrating the 30th anniversary of the group's 1991 Black album. Over 50 artists contributed interpretations of songs from that album. The Warning teamed with Canadian singer songwriter Alessia Cara on this one. The instruction from Metallica was to take the song and essentially make it your own. The actual music video from this song is worth watching as well.
It's rare that a cover or reimagining is better than the original, but this comes pretty damn close. Nah, it's better.
Some like the original version better, and some, like me, think this one is better than the original. They are spectacular. Love the Warning.

This song is actually tract #1 of the Metallica Black List album where 53 different artists did covers of the various songs on the Black Album with the proceeds being donated to charity.😃👍
Plus they only had a week from invite to needing to deliver the completed track to the Metallica team. Because of travel issues (pandemic) this was recorded with The Warning in Mexico and Alessia Cara in Canada. It was produced by Matt Squire who actually did travel to Mexico and then mixed by David Bendeth in New Jersey. Proceeds from the Metallica Blacklist album set were donated to charity.
Best thing to do is to react to their 2014 cover ( note for note) and then do the offical video with Alessia Cara. Then you can see how much they changed the song
They already did a straight-up cover of this song when they were 14, 12, and 9 years old. It has over 24 million views. The good thing about this band is that you can choose anything. They don't release a bad song.

You mentioned it was not the same notes. Actually it is. I’m not a musician so I can’t remember exactly but I believe it is the exact same riff played half time or part of the chord progression is played backward or something. Someone will know and correct me. They rearranged and shot the video for Metallica’s Blacklist album in one week. ❤ They were following directions given by Metallica to shake it up and turn it inside out.

Nice reaction! Yep, the little prayer is in the original. In The Warning's official music video, Pau says it in one of the more haunting scenes of the video. In The Warning's 2014 cover, Pau and Ale, very young, trade off, more like the original at about 3:28 of Metallica's music vid czcams.com/video/CD-E-LDc384/video.html.

You were wondering about covers they may have done. Other than this version of Enter Sandman, done at Metallica’s invitation, I believe the attached video is their last live cover. Another Metallica song, Atlas Rise, played at the Whiskey a go go in Feb 2019. It was the last song in a set of more than 20, they played it as a birthday favour for someone involved in booking them there. They were 19, 17 and 14 at the time. It’s awesome

Yes. You can use CAMO. it’s an app installed on your phone and installed on your laptop. Then you can use your phone as a camera. Then you can download OBS and install that to record video. I would find a tutorial on how to use OBS to record. Just search CZcams.

Of course, it's a cover. And that's what a cover has to look like, in my opinion. Everything else is just a copy with a different voice. The laziest thing a singer or band can do to ride someone else's wave of success.
