This was done during the lock down so they were in all of their individual homes. They are so talented and versatile in their music đ¶. So glad you were able to discover them. I'm sure Tim's neighbors were wondering what Mr. Foust was doing standing in a boat in his yard dressed like Jack Sparrow and singing. Thanks for your reaction.đŁââïžđ„°
He was actually in his brother-in-lawâs backyard in HIS boat, so thereâs a little degree of separation!! đ
You talked about the beatboxer doing the sound effects that put you in the moment and set the scene...you couldn't have said it any better! Adam's drums & tom-toms, his freaking castanets, the sound of the ship cutting through the water!! My Lord! And Tim's massive bass throughout was really something, too! đđ€Ż What's really amazing is they often do this live at concerts!! Definitely a crowd favorite! đłđ
Great reaction!!Home Free started in 2001 by Chris Rupp ( left in 2016 ) and his brother Adam Rupp (Beatboxer ) but this group of guys has been together since 2016 when Chance joined.Adam is the best Beatboxer there is đđ
This is so good. Yes, the boys did this during Covid so they were all at their homes. Tim (Capt. Jack Sparrow) was standing in a boat and didnât move as he was afraid heâd fall over. Loved Timâs low notes and yes you heard Adamâs castanets! Heâs amazing. If you want to see more of Adam check out Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). Itâs just him and a microphone doing drums. Amazing!
Many drummers have commented on Adam's skillful use of percussion - never too much, never just for the sake of making noise or showing off.
Agree! Best vocal percussionist of all the a cappella groups! The others sound like beatboxers making sounds. Adam sounds like the instrument. You forget it is a human voice doing it.
@@dagmar.6954 I often find myself going 'oh, yeah, there are no instruments' - even after all this time.
A great idea from Chance who likes a lot of those Sea shanty songs and in my opinion really has the voice and appearance for them. It is made in quarantine period. Besides each having their great part in this medley, I really love the beatboxing with castanets sound! It was done in the TikTok style, which is why I regularly see / hear come by at the TikTok videos
I love this one! Yes it was done in quarantine time. They really keep up the spirits of the home free with still releasing new music. Thanks for posting your reaction to this. Have a great day!
Home Free said this is the most successful video theyâve done so far. It was viral on TikTok, with many people dancing jigs to the music. Great fun to see them perform it live!
Yes, HF doesn't need fillers. Everything is thoughtful and deliberate, and joy for our ears.
Just as good live! And the audience sings along! Adam is the GOAT.
One of my favorites. Who else can play the castanets without the castanets?
How good are these guys? The fun & energy in this is infectious. This was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another.
Yes, shot during quarantine
I know exactly what you mean... That's why they brand themselves as a vocal "band". They actually sound like a band. Lovin' your reactions!
Sea shanties are almost uniquely made to be sung a cappella. Since they were originally used to help sailors doing manual (often very repetitive) labor on board ships, there was usually no instruments involved - at most a drum to help with the rhythm and perhaps a pipe for the melody, but those were probably the exception rather than the rule. Given that Adam never met a drum sound he couldn't imitate, this is another amazing video from Home Free!
They are so good. My favorite part of this is Adam's castanets in the last song. Unbelievable.
Castanets. Or, in keeping with the nautical theme, cast-a-nets.
Almost spit out my coffee đ
When they do this at their "parties " pretty much everyone is up dancing, singing, clapping đ đ€Ł . I know we were for the last 6 conc8/parties last year, May through December.
Everything Home Free sings they just Knock it out of the ballpark every time.... There, deeside they're serious side these men can do it all..đĄđđĄđ
â€â HOMEFREEâ â€
These guys are AMAZING â€
You can pick romantic, heartbroken, retro, patriotic, silly or fun, and theyâve got a song to suit.
Iâve got their cover of Justin Timberlakeâs âCanât Stop the Feelingâ on repeat because while isnât not very different than the original, it kicks off the summer party vibe.
And âMaydayâ is for the fries.
Hope this doesn't become an ear worm again. Just kept running thru my mind all night long.
Another quarantine video! Itâs amazing how they do these!
This was way before radio or TV
LISTEN TO THE MUSIC IS A GREAT SONG HOME FREE DID (DOOBY BROS.)
Good guess on the Covid quarantine, All done separately.
A word about shantyâs, Most people will say âoh yah, pirate songsâ. Thatâs movie influence. Shantyâs were work songs from the days of sail, used the same way as chain-gang songs, railroad gandi dancer songs, or military marching songs. They established a constant beat that kept men working in unison when a unified effort was necessary, (raising or lowering a sail, hoisting an anchor, any job that needed a unified effort. The Shantyman would sing-out a beat, and the men would sing the response.
After work, or below deck, on off time, the songs tended to be more melodic, or sad, and sang of home. Many of those songs became âfolkâ or even âcountryâ songs, and are recognized today.
This is one of the early videos during covid lock down.
The volume on this wasn't loud enough
I agree, just enough of Adam to be a feature in their songs.
