Taeyeon is a person who can be said to be the beginning of global K-pop.
I was really surprised when I saw that you reacted to Taeyeon's killing voice because I know you are following a strict line up for your reactions and I'm glad that Taeyeon became your fave female soloist after 23 minutes of listening to her. Taeyeon is a storyteller and she's known for her emotional singing. She make sure to properly convey the right emotion for every song she's singing. Her voice and the way she sing is so beautiful that I can listen to her even if she's not singing a lyrics.

Taeyeon has gone through a lot, from having such hard times as a trainee, to losing the closest and most beloved people to her, and yet she never stopped smiling, she has just this positive energy, she moves people a lot! Her albums and especially her live performances (as you’ve seen) can and will bring you to tears! She has such amazing bodies of work! taeyeon was very much involved in latest album. it was revealed that invu wasn't supposed to be her album's title track since it's not the typical sm title track but she really fought for it. as always, she brought good results because her song has been killing the charts since its release. she also released a single titled "can't control myself" prior to the release of her latest album and she participated in writing that song.
i can't wait to see you react to her song "fine". it was the national heartbreak anthem! i hope you could react to it (preferably the concert version).

Caitlin you are scratching the surface of the magnificence that is King Taeyeon's discography. I suggest aside from reacting to her title tracks you should also check out her concert renditions of her b-sides.
Yoo Young-seok, a renowned Korean composer, once said "Taeyeon has the voice of a woman who has gone through divorce seven times".
Like, with so many idol vocalists, for all their technical acumen, you can find that they lack something - for lack of a better word, soul. And you need to have seen some ish, felt some pain, to have that in your voice. Taeng has that is spades.
Her discography is never disappointed, you should follow her music journey as a soloist and you will impress by her versatility. She can do any music genre.
As a very long time Taeyeon fan, I was seeking more reactions from OG Taeyeon fans. But watching you react to her Killing Voice as someone who never heard any of her songs, it was so delightful! I love that you picked up on little things like how she's a shy person. And that you felt moved and emotional from her performance. That is her ultimate talent. It's to make you feel so much emotions from her singing. Her whole discography is a masterpiece by the way. 2. Rain (2016) - her 1st SM STATION and also the 1st song of SM STATION Season 1 (SM STATION is a digital music project which allows its artists having different style of music and collaboration. One of the latest songs of SM STATION is Child by Mark (NCT Lab)). In this release, there's another track called "Secret"

There are a lot of songs which are worthwhile to listen to like "Fine" (the title song of her 1st Full Album "My Voice" but there's a copyright issue that she can't sing this song except in her concert) so I really hope you can check all out xd. For your question of her writing her own songs, she has actually participated in writing lyrics of a few songs like "I", "Can't Control Myself" (her 7th single and a b side of the latest album "INVU"). She has mentioned that she doesn't want people to misinterpret / randomly guess her inner message so she doesn't write a lot. Usually, she gives her own ideas to the producers for some songs and albums but not in a direct way e.g. the lyrics.

aahhhh you definitely should check out taeyeon in begin again 3 ! Begin again is the show that a group of amazing artists travel aboard and perform live street performances, Taeyeon sang her own songs and did some covers too. IT WAS SO GOOD i would die to hear them live 😭
I don't know a lot about Taeyeon, but when I think of her, I'm always amazed by how strong she is. Being in a girl group is already super hard, but being the leader of the nation's girl group must be an INSANE amount of pressure. Having to always show a 'perfect' side of you must be hard, she's worked so hard to be the artist that she is today and I'm happy for her that she gets to express herself in her solo career more than she probably could ever in SNSD ! Like you said, we can really feel her emotions through her voice and I think what she can accomplish now just incredible 💙 thank you for this video ✨
And then, two of her friends choose to end their lives, her father passes away - ON THE DAY HER SONG CALLED "Happy" IS SUPPOSED TO COME OUT - and she has struggled with depression and anxiety for a long time. Personally, I'm really thankful to the people behind the show "Amazing Saturday", because having a "regular job" of sorts got her, an infamous homebody, out of the house and interacting with people regularly.

AHHHH THANK YOU FOR THE REACT!! So Taeyeon (1989) made her solo debut with the first mini album, I in 2015. Then she released the SM station, Rain followed by her 2nd mini album, Why, in 2016. She also released a single, 11:11, in the same year. Fine and Make Me Love You was released the next year and she finally dropped her first solo album My Voice. On the same year she dropped a winter special album.
In 2018, a 3rd mini album was released which is Something New. One of the songs was featured by Lucas from NCT. In 2019, Four Seasons is a new single that includes 2 songs, Four Seasons and Blue. Spark is the title track of the 2nd album, Purpose (aka my favorite album) released on the same year. In 2020 she released the single, Happy and 4th mini album, What Do I Call You. In 2021, Taeyeon only released a single, Weekend and Can't Control Myself was released the next year. These two songs were included in the 3rd album, INVU.
Well, that was just her songs release excluding Japanese and OSTs. All her songs are a masterpiece. I had my personal favorite such as Fire from the first album, My Voice because it feels like a tragic (I had not looked at the lyrics yet tho) and Blue from Four Seasons because it feels like a song that perfectly describes the hollow and the echo inside myself (i don't know the lyrics, again).
I have this inside joke with my sister where we think Taeyeon is basically Taylor Swift but in Korean. (im not exactly in the fandom so i don't know if this is common topic there). And now, you have checked the leader of SNSD, Taeyeon, you might as well give a try to one of her bandmates, Tiffany Young, of course in another time.
